Pill boxes (pill boxes). Morning - afternoon - evening - night and week. Cold water exposure

I hope you are well aware that regular use of combined oral contraceptives (COCs) allows you to "push back" critical days. If you are going to Bali or you are waiting for a meeting with a handsome prince, even an abundant and painless menstruation can seriously spoil the holiday.

"How to postpone your period"

Such a request is not uncommon at a doctor's appointment. Unfortunately, they usually ask urgently, but rather yesterday. They are looking for a 100% effective remedy, preferably not hormonal, better folk, ideally free. Everything as usual.

  • The internet is replete with recommendations. Most often, it is recommended to eat either one at a time, or 3 lemons a day. Especially advanced ones suggest replacing lemon with a horse dose of ascorbic acid. The logic here is simple - ascorbic acid strengthens the vascular wall and, probably, can make it so strong that no enemy will pass, and menstruation will not come. Well, lemon is at least delicious. You can try. From the same series and recommendations to drink a decoction of parsley. There are a lot of options - warm, cold, all day, every day. There is no point in these recommendations, and the authors do not promise any significant effectiveness. The maximum is to postpone menstruation by 3-4 days. If you're lucky.
  • The second group of tips relates to the use of hemostatic agents. There is a wider choice - you can drink a decoction of nettle, an extract of water pepper, take dicinone and vicasol in tablets. The logic here is simple - are they hemostatic? So let them stop! Of course, this can only be reasoned if the remnants of school knowledge are completely thrown out of my head. Menstruation is not just "blood", it is a rejection of the endometrium, which has prepared for pregnancy, and the pregnancy did not take place. There are many adherents of this ineffective and unsafe approach, the risks are slightly higher than in eating lemons, and so - welcome.

In order to postpone menstruation with a guarantee, you need to remember this strongly in advance. Preferably before ovulation. And certainly no later than the 14th day of the cycle. For this, tough gestagenic drugs (norkolut, orgametril) are used. The tablets are taken daily continuously, as much as it is necessary to postpone menstruation.

- Oksana Valerievna, your norkolut did not help me!
- How did you not help? From what day did you start taking?
- From the 14th. As soon as I arrived at sea, menstruation came immediately.
- How long did you take it?
- Kisses to the washerwoman!

20 tablets - exactly 10 days of use. She stopped taking it - after 2-3 days I got a menstrual-like reaction. Apparently, I do not understand clearly, alas.

Of course, these are hormonal drugs. Of course, they are far from harmless.

It is much easier after all for those who constantly use COCs. Here it is - real freedom!

The manipulation of menstruation may well cause sacred horror. However, it should be understood that women using COCs do not and cannot have any menstruation. The bleeding during the hormone-free interval is nothing more than the usual "withdrawal bleeding". The body cannot count, it is illiterate. Therefore, the body does not care how many days we take COCs - 21, 24 or 63.

So, if you are taking contraceptive pills, then in order to "skip" menstrual bleeding, it is enough to skip the hormone-free interval.

As is customary in the modern world, "everything is not so simple", so let's go into the details.

If you are going to "skip" your period, throw away 2 red and 2 white pills (25-26 and 27-28) + 2 orange and 5 pink pills from a new pack (1-2 and 3-7). After the 24th tablet, we begin to take the same yellow tablets from a new package (8-24), we continue to take only yellow tablets as long as we want to postpone menstruation. Returning from distant countries, we take the drug as usual.

V last years in the Russian Federation, the Seasonale mode is gaining popularity, in which monophasic COCs are taken in periods of 84 days. There are only 4 menstrual breaks per year. Gynecologists have long been recommending the use of a prolonged mode of taking COCs 84 + 7 or 63 + 3 for endometriosis, heavy bleeding, menstrual migraines. Seasonale fell in love with sportswomen, dancers, dog handlers, trainers, jockeys and just always busy business women.

Modern society has long abandoned the idea that menstruation cleanses a woman or "detoxifies". In women taking COCs, there is no need for recurrent bleeding. To have or not to have a menstrual-like reaction is the free choice of every COC user.

Sunday start

Surely many of you have paid attention to the fact that most COC tablets have additional labeling by day of the week. Of course, this notion helps to reduce the frequency of missed pills and contraceptive failures. However, binding to the days of the week does not end there.

It is very convenient to start taking the pills on the first Sunday after the start of your period. This allows you to have a "menstruation-free" weekend throughout the entire COC intake.

If you are going to start your first pack of COCs, do so on Sunday. Note that if your period started on Monday or Tuesday, it is worth using condoms for the first week of COC use for added protection. If your period occurs on any day since Wednesday, contraceptive protection will start with the 1st COC tablet.

If you are already taking oral contraceptives, but want to take advantage of the "free weekend", feel free to shorten the hormone-free interval and start new packaging on Sunday. It is impossible to lengthen the hormone-free interval - the contraceptive efficiency suffers seriously. The most dangerous missed pills are skips at the beginning of the pack.

Start on the day of admission

This trick is not very common in the Russian Federation, however, many colleagues of the decaying West recommend starting taking COCs on the same day the doctor picked up the drug. In this case, the first package of pills does not have a contraceptive effect; additional methods of protection will have to be used. However, there are some (fairly high) chances that your period will shift to the first hormone-free interval.

To be honest, I am very skeptical about this approach and do not apply it in my practice. Wanguyu that instead of delaying menstruation, it is quite possible to get adaptive anointing of varying intensity and unwanted pregnancy as a "last hello" from interrupted sexual intercourse.

Menstruation can be easily pushed back, moved, and displaced. It is not painful, not dangerous, completely normal and recommended for action. There is only one small "but" - these benefits of civilization are intended exclusively for advanced modern women who regularly use modern methods highly effective contraception, - estrogen-progestin drugs.

Pill box (or pill box) is a container divided into cells. Pills are placed in these cells, which must be taken throughout the day.

Thus, it is possible to "schedule" the weekly medication intake, and depending on the time of day.

For each day, two to four pill boxes are allocated: for morning, afternoon, evening or nighttime medication.

The pillbox is very convenient to use. It allows you to always know exactly when and what kind of medicine to drink, in what dosage. The pill container will help you remember if you took your pills on time.

In this case, the pill box can be disassembled into seven separate blocks. Thus, you can “program” the course of treatment for any number of days - two, three, five.

Pillbox. Organizer for medicines

The pillbox will be useful:

  • Mothers with young children who are prescribed a course of medication
  • Elderly people taking pills
  • Anyone who is sick and forced to take medications, but does not want to keep in mind the calculation of what and when to take

The pillbox has a small size, is compact, and can be easily carried even in a handbag.

The developers also took care of people who see poorly - a special font is applied on the cells.

A 7-day pillbox can be a great gift. For mom, dad, daughter with children, grandfather and grandmother. This is one of those little simple things that really change our lives for the better.

Circumstances in the life of every woman develop in different ways, and it so happens that the onset of menstruation coincides with important event, a demonstration performance, a sporting event, a trip to the sea.

To prevent these events from being darkened, there are safe and effective ways delaying menstruation.

The main ways to delay menstruation

Delaying the onset of menstruation and deceiving physiology are guaranteed to help medicines and folk recipes. The main methods are shown in the table.

How oral contraceptives can help you postpone your period by a week or more

Recent developments in the field of hormonal contraception contain two types of hormones that are synthetic analogs of progesterone and estrogen.

One of the components works in the first phase of the cycle and suppresses the maturation of the egg, the action of the second is manifested in the second phase and blocks the function of the corpus luteum.

This is due to the suppressive effect of female hormones on the production of hormonal secretions by the pituitary gland.

In the body, artificial contraception is created and maintained, which prevents the rejection of the mucous part in the uterine cavity, accompanied by menstrual flow.

Oral contraceptive drugs are designed to prevent unplanned pregnancies. The contents of the package are designed to be taken from the first day of the cycle. If the start of admission is overdue, then the effectiveness of the drug decreases.

Birth control pills even out the menstrual cycle women to ideal - 28 days. This is the main point. Extending the intake for a couple of days can shift the onset of menstruation by the required number of days.

By changing the schedule for taking a contraceptive, you can independently expand and shift the cycle. The onset of menstruation is noted 2-3 days after the end of the admission.

Attention! When the decision to postpone the period of menstruation is a necessity, you need to take into account the state of health and contraindications medical supplies... Chronic diseases require mandatory consultation with a doctor.

Is it safe to use oral contraceptives?

The work of the female body is a complex well-oiled system, and outside interference is fraught with disruptions in the menstrual cycle and unpleasant consequences.

The use of contraceptives only to delay menstruation in one cycle is not desirable, because it is possible to unbalance the menstrual cycle.

The danger of taking contraceptives arises in the following cases:

  • Unauthorized administration of a hormonal drug can lead to the disappearance of menstruation for more than one month;
  • Women over 35 and regular smokers taking oral contraceptives to delay menstruation is contraindicated. In extreme cases, this can be done under the supervision of a gynecologist;
  • Women with an unstable cycle it is forbidden to resort to means of delaying menstruation.
  • At risk of women with diseases hearts and those who are prone to venous insufficiency, thrombosis, as well as those who have liver problems. They are not allowed to take birth control pills. In case of urgent need, you should turn to folk remedies, as they are more harmless to health.

How to use oral contraceptives to delay your period

Contraceptives, when used continuously, can delay the onset of menstruation.

The monthly cycle is approximately 28 days. With this in mind, mono and three-phase contraceptives have been developed. The content of hormones in them is not dangerous.

By the usual scheme contraceptives are taken intermittently ... If you do not take a break from taking the pills, then your period will not come. This will continue until you stop taking. During this period, protection from pregnancy is maintained.

It's important to know! Continuously take birth control pills permissible no longer than 2 months.

Before you postpone your period for a week with the help of contraceptives and contraceptives, you should consult a gynecologist.

To postpone the onset of menstruation with the help of oral contraceptives, you need to choose a suitable regimen for yourself:

After 21 days, any type of birth control pill is discontinued. There is a decrease in hormonal levels and menstruation begins.

To obtain the desired delay, only Phase III drugs should be taken. In addition, contraception will be required.

How to postpone menstruation for a week for women taking androgen-containing drugs such as "Diane-35" or "Yarina" - the following scheme can be used: you should continue taking the pills for a few more days. During the period of admission and 3 days after its end, there will be no menstruation.

Medicines for delaying menstruation

Separate medications will help to delay menstruation by a week, as they can affect the production of female hormones.

In gynecological practice, drugs are used to treat various pathologies, in the instructions of which, in the list of side effects, there is a delay in the onset of menstruation. The drugs cause a rather long delay.

The drug "Norkolut" is prescribed to establish a cycle with delays in menstruation. In a normal cycle, the drug does the opposite.

You should start taking "Norkolut" earlier 2 weeks before the planned day of the onset of menstruation. Such an appointment schedule will postpone her a week later. With the onset of menstruation, the intake can not be stopped, which will reduce the abundance of secretions.

Of the hormonal drugs for delaying menstruation for 7 days, "Duphaston" is suitable. It does not belong to contraceptives, does not affect ovulation. The indications for use are the problems of endometriosis.

The effect on the uterine mucosa of the components of "Duphaston" leads to a slowdown in the growth of the endometrium and its rejection. At the same time, the synthesis of progesterone in female body... According to this scheme, it is possible to postpone the arrival of menstruation.

The drug begins to be taken in the third part of the cycle, that is, in 3 days, 2 tablets every day.

Hormonal agents containing progestins will give the desired result by almost 100%.

According to a similar scheme, "Utrozhestan" is taken.

To activate blood clotting and platelet formation, to strengthen blood vessels, Dicinon is prescribed. It is also taken for bleeding.

The drug will help women suffering from heavy discharge. In this case, in order to delay the onset of menstruation, the reception begins 5 days before their arrival.

Another hemostatic drug is Vikasol. If you take the drug at the beginning of the appearance of secretions, then it is able to stop them in a day.

"Ditsynon" and "Vikasol" do not affect the level of hormones, they affect the blood vessels. They are allowed to be used only once a year to reduce discharge, but not for delay.

Important to remember! Drugs that can delay menstruation are allowed to be used no more than 2 times a year. It is not recommended to delay the cycle for more than a week.

Long-term experimentation leads to both hormonal disruptions and disruptions throughout the body.

Folk recipes to help delay menstruation

You can influence the hormonal changes associated with a woman's monthly cycle using several alternative methods.

Nettle decoction

It belongs to the most famous methods.

For cooking, take 5 tbsp. l. dry nettle leaves and pour 0.5 liters of water. Boil at low boil for 5 minutes and leave for half an hour.

Drink throughout the day as water.

Consuming honey

An ancient and harmless way of postponing the onset of menstrual flow by 2-3 days.

To do this, you need to start eating honey regularly 7 days before the planned date.

Water pepper decoction

The secret of the effectiveness of the decoction to delay menstruation for a week in the vitamin K contained in it, as a hemostatic agent.

The broth is prepared from 40 g of water pepper herb, which is poured with 0.5 liters of water. After five minutes of boiling, insist for 3 hours.

Drink 150 ml of liquid 3 times a day right before meals.

Lemon as a source of vitamin C

It is a well-known method for delaying menstruation.

To get the desired result 2-3 days before menstruation, 1-2 whole lemons are eaten daily.

Shock dose of vitamin C

Taking vitamin in large doses strengthens the walls of blood vessels, which reduces the amount of secretions up to complete cessation.

One lemon will replace 15 tablets of ascorbic acid. It is important to observe the measure in order to avoid unpleasant consequences and allergies.

Cold water exposure

A bowl of very cold water is used. Before going to bed, you need to lower your legs into it to delay menstruation.

The remedy is unsafe because it leads to inflammation.

Possible consequences of artificial delay in menstruation

According to gynecologists, an artificially induced delay in menstruation even by 1 day leads to hormonal disruptions and menstrual irregularities.

Subsequent periods become more abundant and longer.

As a result of violent interference in the body, various negative reactions, sometimes quite sharp:

A serious complication is the appearance of a neurotic process in the uterus. This is due to the fact that parts of the epithelium that were not washed out by blood remained in it. This is possible when interrupting menstruation that has already begun for more than a day.

Means for shifting the onset of menstruation exist and operate, but they must be used carefully. A regular cycle is a sign of a woman's health, therefore do not risk your well-being.

In this video, you will learn how to postpone your period by a week or a few days:

This video will show you how to delay your period using medication and folk remedies medicine:

One of the main causes of many gynecological diseases and infertility is artificial interruption pregnancy. A particularly high risk of complications and traumatism of the genital organs is characterized by abortions, which are accompanied by instrumental expansion of the cervix, vacuum aspiration and, especially, curettage.

Termination of pregnancy with pills early dates gestation allows you to avoid mechanical trauma to the cervix and the body of the uterus, to significantly reduce the risks of bleeding and acute and chronic inflammatory processes, which often complicate abortions performed by surgical methods. In addition, medical abortion completely eliminates the risks associated with anesthesia and significantly reduces the degree of psychological trauma.

Medications for medical abortion

The medication technique is based on the use medications belonging to different groups that affect the function of the luteal (yellow) body and increase the contractility of the uterine myometrium. These include:

  1. Synthetic derivatives of prostaglandins.
  2. Progesterone antagonists (antiprogestins).

Derivatives of prostaglandins

This group includes the only drug registered in Russia "Misoprostol", produced in tablets in a dose of 200 mcg, it can also be under the trade name "Mirolyut". It is a synthetic analogue of prostaglandin E 1. Misoprostol initiates contractions of smooth muscle fibers, which not only facilitates the opening of the cervical canal and stimulates contractions of the myometrium, but also increases the strength and frequency of contractions of the uterus, which leads to the expulsion of the contents of its cavity.

The mechanism of action of misoprostol is explained by the fact that it binds, like oxytocin, to the specific receptor apparatus of the muscle cells of the uterus, as a result of which calcium ions are released from the endoplasm of the latter, which increase the contractile activity of smooth muscle fibers. In addition, it enhances the transmission of impulses in the presynaptic membrane of adrenergic nerve endings, which leads to an increase in their release of norepinephrine.

Progesterone antagonists

The synthetic prostaglandin E 1 analogue misoprostol is used in combination with the antiprogestin mifepristone. The name of the pills for abortion of this group is "Mifepristone", "Pencrofton", "Mifolian", "Mifegin", "Mifeprex". All of these agents, equally effective, contain 200 mg of mifepristone as an active ingredient.

The latter is a synthetic oral steroid. Interrupt pills early pregnancy containing mifepristone are characterized by a high degree of its affinity for progesterone receptors. By binding to them, it leads to a specific blocking of the effect of progesterone on the corresponding receptors located in the endometrium and myometrium. Mifepristone also causes a significant decrease in blood levels, which is possibly due to the destructive effect on the corpus luteum and its ability to reduce the level of human chorionic gonadotropin in the blood.

All this, in turn, becomes the reason:

  • inhibition of the development of cells of the nutrient layer (trophoblast) of the embryo and necrosis of the ovum;
  • hypoplasia and necrosis of the transformed functional layer of the uterine mucosa (decidual membrane of the embryo) with its subsequent rejection;
  • the occurrence of uterine contractions and the development of bleeding, similar to menstrual bleeding or slightly exceeding it in terms of blood volume, which (clinically) is the essence.

In addition, mifepristone increases the sensitivity of the muscular layer of the uterus to the effects of endogenous (intrinsic) and exogenous (additionally introduced in the form of misoprostol) prostaglandins. Thus, drugs for early termination of pregnancy, when used simultaneously, act as synergists.

Basic regimen of Mifepristone and Misoprostol

It consists in a single dose, in the presence of a gynecologist, of three tablets (600 mg) of mifepristone, after which, 36-48 hours later, prostaglandin misoprostol is prescribed in a dose of 2-4 tablets (400-800 mcg). After taking the latter, the woman is observed by a doctor for 2 to 4 hours. Re-examination by a gynecologist with ultrasound examination carried out at the end of the second or 3 weeks (after 14 days) after taking mifepristone.

Side effects and complications

When carrying out medical abortion in 2-10% of cases, the following are possible side effects and complications of the combined use of the listed funds:

  • chills and fever (sometimes to high values), which, as a rule, lasts no more than 2 hours;
  • general malaise and weakness;
  • dizziness, headache, fainting;
  • a feeling of discomfort and minor pain, mainly in the lower abdomen, associated with spastic uterine contractions (sometimes, in 5-15%, pain can be quite intense, requiring analgesic and / or antispasmodic drugs);
  • bloating, nausea (50%), vomiting (30%), diarrhea (less than 25%);
  • allergic reactions in the form of skin rashes (rare);
  • incomplete abortion, due to insufficient effectiveness of drug exposure - than longer term pregnancy, the higher the risk of incomplete abortion;
  • bleeding after taking drugs to terminate a pregnancy.

Bleeding is most severe and dangerous complication... As a rule, this bleeding is longer and more pronounced than menstrual bleeding. At the same time, it does not lead to a decrease in the level of hemoglobin in the blood. However, in approximately 0.2-2.6%, it can be quite intense. In these cases, hemostatic therapy may be required, surgical stopping of bleeding by conducting or curettage, transfusion of blood substitutes, blood plasma, erythrocyte mass.

Terms of use of tablets

In the instructions for "Misoprostol" and "Mifepristone" registered in Russian Federation, their application in order to conduct drug interruption pregnancy on an outpatient basis indicated a time limit of 42 days of absence of menstruation. In the same time, The World Organization health care, this period is limited to 63 days. In addition, the safety and high degree of effectiveness of these funds are noted.

In this regard, the period of 63 days of absence of menstruation was adopted as the norm. Preparations for terminating pregnancy for later dates can be used exclusively in an inpatient gynecological department with the possibility of providing medical care in the required amount. It should be remembered that the longer this period, the lower the degree of effectiveness of the drugs.

Contraindications for use

Absolute contraindications are:

  1. Individual intolerance to one of the drugs or their auxiliary components.
  2. Assumption of the possibility of availability.
  3. Long-term use of glucocorticoid drugs, due to a certain concomitant pathology, or / and chronic adrenal insufficiency.
  4. Chronic renal or hepatic impairment.
  5. Violation of pigment metabolism, accompanied by elevated level in the blood of porphyrins (hereditary porphyria).
  6. Severe concomitant extragenital pathology, as well as the presence of glaucoma, arterial hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, severe bronchial asthma.
  7. Hormone-dependent tumor formations, as well as dysfunction of the endocrine glands, including diabetes mellitus.
  8. Exhaustion.

Relative contraindications:

  1. Lack of menstruation (with a confirmed pregnancy) for more than 63 days. The need to use misoprostol and mifepristone for longer pregnancies requires hospitalization in the gynecological department.
  2. The presence of a significant size, which is a risk factor for the development of bleeding. The use of drugs is possible when the size of the dominant myomatous node is up to 4 cm and there is no deformation of the uterine cavity by myomatous nodes.
  3. The initial hemoglobin content in the blood is less than 100 g / l, which increases the risk of even more pronounced anemia due to possible blood loss.
  4. Blood clotting disorders, including the use of anticoagulants and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which dramatically increases the risk of blood loss.
  5. Acute inflammatory processes of the female genital area (despite the fact that medical abortion does not increase the risk of developing an ascending infection, however, the simultaneous use of antibacterial agents is desirable).
  6. Smoking women over 35 years of age, as they are at risk for cardiovascular disease. Before prescribing the above drugs, it is necessary to conduct an examination by a therapist.
  7. Period breastfeeding... It must be canceled for 7 days from the day you took mifepristone, and 5 days from the day you took misoprostol.
  8. The development of pregnancy against the background of the use of an intrauterine contraceptive. Remove the intrauterine device before taking mifepristone and misoprostol.
  9. Long-term use of oral hormonal contraceptives, which increase the risk of bleeding disorders. Although this contraindication is relative, a preliminary study of the coagulogram is nevertheless necessary.

Early abortion with the use of these drugs is characterized by longer bleeding and, often, more prolonged pain syndrome, compared with surgical abortion. However, complications as a result of medical abortion occur much less frequently. In addition, psychologically, it is much easier to tolerate.

It is practically impossible to buy pills for medical termination of pregnancy in pharmacies, especially without a prescription. They should only be used under the supervision of a gynecologist, and are dispensed primarily by specialized private medical institutions or gynecological inpatient departments who have official permission to carry out abortions and have the ability to carry out not only infusion and transfusion therapy, but also to provide emergency gynecological and surgical care or, in extreme cases, to urgently deliver a woman to appropriate medical institutions.
