Should I make eyelash extensions? Is false eyelash extensions harmful? Is it worth extending eyelashes on vacation

When deciding on eyelash extensions, the pros and cons should be weighed deliberately. After building up, it will be too late to change anything. You need to know how old you can grow eyelashes? Is unsuccessful extension dangerous? Is it possible to constantly do this procedure and whether vision deteriorates because of this? Who is strictly prohibited from doing this? At the same time, there is no need to listen to the advice of "experienced" and those who only know something about modern techniques applying false eyelashes, but never used them. You can see the results of the work on the photo. We suggest you consider 5 common opinions about the dangers of the procedure. And find out the opinion of cosmetologists.

5 myths about eyelash extensions and reality

  1. Your eyelashes will definitely fall out... They will certainly fall out, even if you perform extensions in the most fashionable, licensed salon. The point is that eyelashes fall out by nature. The life cycle of each hair is 200 days. And how quickly they grow and recover depends on the care of the eyelid skin and the presence of the necessary vitamins in the body. Visually, the harm of eyelash extensions is very noticeable: when you remove false eyelashes, it seems to you that your eyes have become “bald”. The reason here lies in the fact that you are already accustomed to seeing thick and luxurious hairs on your eyelids.
  2. Adhesives are very harmful... To the question of why eyelash extensions are harmful, they often answer: the effect of glue. If you use the cheapest one bought in the supermarket, the consequences will be serious indeed. At best, a film will remain on the eyelids, at worst, edema and an allergic reaction will develop. If the procedure is carried out in a licensed salon, professional adhesives are used for it that do not adversely affect the skin and hair. But even in this case, no one is immune from the likelihood of allergies.
  3. Your eyelashes will break... This fact is one of the most negative consequences of eyelash extension. But there are also nuances here. The break of native cilia in most cases is an indicator of the master's unprofessionalism. If hairs of a suitable structure were initially selected, and their application was carried out according to the rules, a break is extremely unlikely.
  4. When removing, your eyelashes always suffer... This fact is associated with a lot of controversy about whether false eyelashes are harmful. But also in this case there are features. Often the procedure is harmful, if you carry out the removal yourself, it is more than likely to remove your hairs along with artificial ones. If the master does this in the salon, he will use special means that quickly and safely dissolve the adhesive base. In this case, all your hairs will remain in place.
  5. The effect does not last long... It depends on the qualifications of the master. A casual application will provide results in just a week. An experienced professional will guarantee that the hairs will last for at least 3 weeks. Ideally, the correction is performed once a month.

Pros and cons of the procedure

Given these facts about eyelash extensions, the pros and cons can be weighed more deliberately.

Eyelash Extensions - Pros

  • Your look is irresistible, even if nature has cheated you with natural eyelashes.
  • You don't need to tint your eyes... This saves you the time and money you would normally spend buying a brasmatik. By the way, high-quality mascara costs no less than an eyelash correction procedure.
  • You look perfect, regardless of the time of day - in the morning and in the evening.
  • You can change! This allows different variants cilia providing different gaze effects: fox, squirrel, natural ...

Eyelash extensions - cons

  • The risk of an allergic reaction increases- redness of the eyes, swelling of the eyelids. This is bad.
  • False eyelashes require self-discipline- you will have to give up the habit of rubbing your eyes or sleeping on your stomach.
  • Correction should be done regularly- otherwise your eyelids will look comical due to crumbling bunches.
  • Need to find good master - This is probably the most important factor in the longevity of false eyelashes and their hassle-free performance.

For whom is the procedure definitely not suitable?

Eyelash extensions are fashionable now. But be sure to consider individual characteristics when planning eyelash extensions. Harmful or not, whether the procedure impairs vision, this decision, you should check with your doctor.

  • You wear contact lenses... In this case, the risk of allergic reactions increases many times over. Moreover, in addition to the usual allergies, the development of inflammatory processes is possible. When neglected, inflammation poses a risk to eye health and destroys the retina.
  • You suffer from chronic conjunctivitis... With this disease, a sluggish inflammatory process does not stop in the eyelids. Any intervention can lead to its aggravation, which will be much more difficult to cope with than usual.
  • Your natural eyelashes are very thin and weak... Of course, the correction will mask this defect. But attaching false hairs to thin relatives can completely destroy them. Check with your beautician how to strengthen your eyelashes. You will most likely be advised to take a month's course of therapy. castor oil, and only then perform the procedure.

So, is eyelash extension harmful? Reviews show that most of the shortcomings can be corrected by the professionalism of the performer. It is also necessary to take into account the contraindications to this cosmetological procedure.

The extension of the lower eyelashes has not yet become widespread, but the popularity of this procedure is growing. Usually it is carried out at the same time or after the extension of the upper eyelashes - if the client specifically requests it. Most often, the eyes are open during the procedure - therefore, special care and attention is required from the master.

Description of technology and features

The work on extending the lower eyelashes is painstaking and difficult, and the effect of the procedure disappears after 1.5 - 2 weeks, since a special hypoallergenic glue is used to attach the artificial hairs, which does not last long. Not all salons offer such extensions - be prepared for the fact that you will have to spend some time looking for "your" master.

Varieties

There are two ways to extend eyelashes - beam and eyelash. At the first, a bunch of several artificial hairs is glued to the natural eyelash. On the lower eyelids, it looks heavy and rather rough, the risk of eyelash breakage is very high. Therefore, eyelash extensions are used - each artificial hair is attached separately.

Perhaps incomplete extension of the lower eyelashes - most often, artificial hairs are glued only in the corners of the eyes (extension of the corners).

Advantages

  • The lower lashes acquire a beautiful natural curve.
  • Eye makeup looks harmonious and complete.
  • There is no need to use mascara on a daily basis.

Flaws

  • Lower eyelash extension is a separate procedure and is not done by default, it will have to be discussed and paid for.
  • The extended lower lashes do not last as long as the upper ones, while the gaps are more noticeable when they fall out.
  • Most often, lower eyelash extensions are felt when worn.
  • If the upper eyelashes are very straight, the lower eyelashes can cling to them when blinking.

The procedure is quite complicated, often carried out in front of open eyes; if the master does not have the proper qualifications, negative consequences may occur - eye irritation, burning.

Indications for conducting

  • In addition to double or triple volume upper eyelash extensions; in this case, if nothing is done with the lower ones, they will be lost, and the eyes will look strange and disharmonious.
  • The desire to create an original, extravagant image, for example, for a performance or a photo session.
  • The need to correct the shape of the eyes or other features of the face.

Contraindications

  • Propensity for allergic reactions.
  • Diseases of the eyes and eyelids.
  • Thin and sparse lower eyelashes.
  • The habit of constantly rubbing your eyes.

There is no need to extend the lower lashes if they are naturally thick and dark enough.

Technique, stages of the procedure and duration of the procedure

The procedure is very painstaking and can take up to 2.5 hours. The lower eyelashes are extended after the upper eyelashes are extended using a similar technology.

  • A protective patch is glued to the lower eyelid under the eyelashes - a special strip or silicone pad.
  • The eyelashes are combed, treated with a degreasing agent.
  • Artificial hair is dipped in glue; the excess adhesive is removed on a cotton pad or silicone pad.
  • Holding the hair with tweezers, the master fixes it in the selected place.
  • The same operation is repeated with subsequent hairs - until the required volume is reached.

The video lists lists: what to look for during the procedure, what tools are needed, what is the sequence of actions; each step of the procedure is shown separately.

Errors in lower eyelash extensions

  • The most common mistake is choosing to extend artificial hairs that are too long. The eyes immediately lose their naturalness and expressiveness. The optimal length is 1.5 - 2 mm longer than that of native eyelashes.
  • Non-observance of proportions. Thick eyelashes are allowed only for stage images; in other cases, the upper eyelashes should remain twice as lush as the lower.
  • The use of excessively curved artificial hairs - for the extension of the lower eyelashes, it is recommended to bend J (A), as close to natural as possible.

Care after the procedure

  • You must not wash your face for 3 hours after the procedure.
  • You should not often touch your eyelashes and rub your eyes; it is undesirable to sleep with your face in the pillow.
  • It is recommended to cleanse your eyes with a soft cotton pad moistened with water or lotion; fatty products can remove not only dirt and cosmetics, but also artificial eyelashes. This also applies to oily eye creams - they must be abandoned.
  • Avoid using soap and hot water.
  • It is forbidden to curl eyelashes with tongs.
  • Be especially careful when visiting baths and saunas - high temperatures soften the glue.
  • Brush your eyelashes more often with a special brush to prevent them from sticking together.

How often can you do the procedure

With the correct selection of the parameters of artificial eyelashes, the procedure can be done as needed - as often as required. If, after removing the hair extensions, the master sees that the condition of the natural eyelashes has deteriorated, he will offer to give them time to recover. This advice must be followed.

Can I do it at home?

Lower eyelashes can be extended at home, independently - the procedure is most often done on open eyes, which, in theory, simplifies its implementation. However, it should be borne in mind that it requires special care and professionalism - the risk of damaging the eyes is very high. It is advisable to undergo special training in advance.

Effect duration and subsequent correction

The extended lower lashes last less than the upper ones - about 10 - 14 days.

After that, a correction or re-extension is necessary - what exactly to choose, the master will advise you, after examining the eyelashes and assessing their condition.

Where is it better to do it: in the salon, with a private master or on your own at home

Lower eyelash extension is a complex and time-consuming procedure, it requires thorough knowledge of technology and high qualifications. With poor-quality build-up, the eyes can become inflamed, the eyelids can itch, there is a feeling of something foreign in the eyes. In some cases, you have to see a doctor. It is safer to extend lower eyelashes in the salon, with a trusted, experienced master who has the appropriate certificate.

Approximate cost in salons / from private craftsmen

In salons, lower eyelash extensions cost about 1800 rubles.

Private masters take from 1000 rubles for this procedure.

Lower eyelash extensions are a rather expensive, complicated and not entirely safe procedure. However, it is worth deciding on it if you want to make a special effect or are going to an event where you need to look bright and attractive. The procedure is best done in the salon; be careful when choosing a master.

Many girls are trying to figure out what the pros and cons are. Such an increased interest is not surprising, because this procedure is very popular. Experts promise that after it the eyelashes will become fluffy and long, and the look will be expressive. However, not everything is so harmless.

Eyelash Extensions - Benefits

This cosmetic procedure has many advantages.

Extended eyelashes have the following advantages:

  1. Instant look transformation. The effect is noticeable immediately after the procedure.
  2. The ability to reshape the eyes - eyelash extensions open up the look. They give it a touch of special charm. And the eyes in such a "frame" seem to be much larger.
  3. Allow to refuse the use of mascara. After building up, you don't have to dye the cilia every day, and then wash them off before going to bed.

  7. Girls who, out of fear, are afraid to resort to such a cosmetic procedure, can only stick on the tips of their eyelashes. So the look will become more open and expressive.

How long do eyelash extensions last?

How long the flawless look will last depends on the following factors:

  • quality of material and glue;
  • the growth rate of hairs and the intensity of their loss;
  • chemical attack (salts, fats);
  • how often the hands touch the cilia;
  • exposure to steam and high temperatures.

In addition, how long the classic's extended eyelashes last depends on the experience of the master performing this procedure. With a highly qualified specialist, they can last up to 2 months. However, after 3-4 weeks, the hairs begin to fall out singly. Correction is required at this stage. Such a procedure will help to restore the excellent appearance of the eyelashes. It is recommended to hold it monthly.

Is it profitable to extend eyelashes?

Both this cosmetic procedure and the use of mascara have their pros and cons. It is impossible to say unequivocally what is better and what is worse. It is wiser to try both options on yourself and objectively evaluate the results. In addition, eyelash extensions are pros and cons, it is important to weigh everything and only then resort to this procedure. The same applies to the use of mascara.

Extended eyelashes - disadvantages

This cosmetic procedure also has unpleasant sides. It is important to take them into account when deciding whether to extend eyelashes or not. This will help to prepare in advance for all possible "surprises".

Eyelash extensions can have negative consequences:

  1. An allergic reaction occurs - the glue used can provoke peeling of the skin, its redness and irritation. Before applying it, a test should be made to determine the body's response to the components present in this tool.
  2. The condition of natural eyelashes deteriorates - this happens when artificial eyelashes are attached to them. Due to the stress experienced, the hairs can become thinner, break and even fall out. To prevent the occurrence of this effect, natural eyelashes must be strengthened and healed before such a cosmetic procedure.
  3. In the future, correction is constantly required. Without this procedure, the eyelashes will look plucked. It is important not to forget that this refining is carried out for a fee and it is not cheap.

What should not be done after eyelash extension?

It will help to minimize the likelihood of undesirable consequences. proper care... A woman should clearly understand what should not be done after eyelash extension, and all this should be avoided:

  1. On the first day after the procedure, you should not wash your face. Contact with water can cause the adhesive to lose its adhesive properties. Such a substance dries for at least 24 hours.
  2. You need to give up the obsessive desire to rub your eyes, touch them, tactilely check whether everything is in order there. All these manipulations can seriously harm the cilia.
  3. For the first three days, you should not go to the sauna or steam your face. Such procedures can lead to the fact that the glue does not set, and the extended eyelashes fall off.
  4. You cannot sleep with your face in the pillow. With such a dream, the likelihood of deformation of the eyelashes is high. It is desirable that bed linen be made from natural fabrics (satin or silk).
  5. Do not use oily eyeshadows. In addition, you should be wary of basic funds and correctors. You can wash off decorative cosmetics with micellar water. The use of washes containing oils is prohibited!

Eyelash extension - consequences and harm of the procedure

Although the likelihood of complications is low, it is still there. It is important to remember this point when considering whether it is harmful to extend eyelashes. More often, such negative consequences arise:

  1. The skin of the eyelids becomes dry. This area of the face requires special care: it needs regular hydration and nutrition. However, eyelash extension has pros and cons. One of the drawbacks is the rejection of care products that contain fats, and it is just such cosmetics that help fill cells with valuable substances. As a result, the eyelids do not receive enough nutrients, and the skin suffers from this.
  2. Arises Is an inflammatory process that occurs in the cornea. More often it is provoked by pathogenic bacteria. In a neglected state, keratitis is fraught with partial loss of vision and the appearance of scars on the cornea.
  3. Conjunctivitis is diagnosed- inflammation of the mucous membrane. Its occurrence can be caused by physical damage to the eyeball or bacteria.
  4. Chemical burn- such a problem is provoked by the negligence or inexperience of the master performing the procedure. More often it happens due to the fact that the glue gets into the eyes.
  5. Trauma- occurs when a stack needle, tweezers or other instrument used by the master touches the mucous membrane or eyelid.

Should you extend your eyelashes on vacation?

This procedure is good in that it guarantees a flawless look over a long period. At the same time, the woman does not have to worry if the mascara has spread after swimming in the sea. However, there are also disadvantages. When deciding whether to extend eyelashes at sea, it is important to remember the following disadvantages:

  1. By the end of the vacation, the artificial hairs will begin to fall out. It is advisable to do building up a couple of days before departure.
  2. It is very uncomfortable to dive with too thick “fan”.
  3. We'll have to give up swimming in the pool, because bleach is added there, and it has a bad effect on artificial hairs.

Eyelash extensions - contraindications

Not all women, if desired, can resort to such a cosmetic procedure. There are the following contraindications for eyelash extension:

  • mental disorders;
  • conjunctivitis and predisposition to it;
  • allergy to the components of the glue or consumable used;
  • chemotherapy performed within the last 6 months;
  • taking antibiotics;
  • poor eyesight;
  • too dry or oily skin of the eyelids.

Is it possible to extend eyelashes during menstruation?

It may seem that there is no relationship between hair lengthening and the menstrual cycle. However, it is still there. For this reason, experts do not recommend resorting to such a procedure during menstruation and a couple of days before it. They explain this by the fact that during this period in female body there is a hormonal disruption. It affects work internal organs and systems. Before deciding for yourself whether to extend eyelashes during menstruation, you need to weigh the possible existing risks:

  • short-lived result;
  • false eyelashes are not attached well;
  • the likelihood of development is high.

Is it possible to extend eyelashes during pregnancy?

More often, gynecologists are categorically opposed to this procedure, as well as visiting a hairdresser, hair coloring and other similar manipulations. In isolated cases, the fears of doctors are justified, but more often they are exaggerated. However, even those specialists who adhere to the point of view that this procedure is safe for future mother and the baby, believe that it is better to abstain from it in the first trimester.

During this period, many women experience toxicosis. They may have an aversion to certain odors. During the build-up, a glue with a specific aroma is used. Some pregnant women note that this smell is so terrible, and it haunts them all the time, as long as they wear fake eyelashes. There is little pleasure in this. For this reason, experts advise women not to do the procedure before the 14th week of pregnancy.

It is also important to remember about the intense influence of hormones during the period of bearing a baby. Before deciding whether it is possible to extend eyelashes for pregnant women, a woman should remind herself that the result will be short-lived. Already 14-20 days after the procedure, correction may be needed. Another point is the duration of the manipulation: it lasts 1.5-2 hours. All this time, the woman should lie on her back, not moving. However on later dates pregnancy is undesirable, as the blood flow is compressed.

Is it possible to extend eyelashes if you wear lenses?

Poor vision is a contraindication to performing such a procedure. However, doctors believe that eyelash extensions, which have pros and cons, do not affect. For this reason, the procedure can be safely carried out. Artificial hair will not impair vision. When deciding whether it is possible to extend eyelashes with lenses, you need to remember that an incorrectly calculated angle is considered dangerous. So artificial hairs will constantly get into the eyes, gradually impairing vision.

Best eyelash extension

Even if the highest quality artificial hairs are attached, and the procedure was performed by a highly qualified specialist, it is impossible to constantly wear a "fan". Every six months, you should take 2-3 month breaks. Curious girls who want to know if it is possible to constantly extend their eyelashes without resting should remember about the provided breaks. Such "pauses" are necessary for natural hairs to recover. Without a break, they will come to a deplorable state. The master knows which eyelashes are best to grow. He will recommend when to take a break.

What type of eyelash extension should you choose?

Before performing the procedure, it is important to determine the optimal technology. It can be done as follows:

  1. Beam extension- this method is considered traditional. Its essence lies in the fact that artificial eyelashes are attached to natural eyelashes. Moreover, 3-4 hairs are fixed at once. Each such bundle is glued to a separate eyelash. The advantage of this method is that after the procedure, the look becomes brighter and more expressive. The disadvantage is that the eyelashes look unnatural, and they do not last long.
  2. Piece-by-piece extension method- it is also called "Japanese". Its essence is that an artificial one is attached to each natural hair. It helps to give a natural look.

What types of eyelash extensions are:

  • incomplete;
  • classic;
  • tip extension;
  • volumetric (2D, 3D, 4D and 5D).

Which eyelashes are best?

Artificial hairs are differentiated by thickness and strength. When eyelash extensions are performed, the following types of eyelashes can be used:

  • silk - recommended for owners of thin and sparse hairs;
  • mink - more often used to ennoble women who naturally have thick strong cilia;
  • sable - creates amazing volume.

When choosing which eyelashes are best for extension, it is important to remember that they differ from each other in the shape of the bend. They are like this:

  • J - straight lines;
  • B - slightly curved;
  • C - large bend;
  • D - used to create a "puppet" image;
  • L - help to add a touch of extravagance to the image.

Eyelash extension - it has pros and cons. The first is the ability to create the following effects:

  • natural;
  • "squirrel";
  • "Fox";
  • "Rays";
  • Millennium;
  • "puppet".

Eyelash extension - how to choose a master?

A qualified specialist works with high quality. Eyelash extension has pros and cons. However, when performed by a highly skilled craftsman, the disadvantages are minimized. Before deciding whether to extend eyelashes, you should make sure of the qualifications of a specialist. To do this, you need to pay attention to the following points:

  • availability of certificates;
  • photo of his work;
  • materials used by him;

I'll start my story with why I decided to do eyelash extensions at all. In principle, here you can get by with one photo of my natural native stumps:

They are short, straight, naughty, and it is rather difficult to paint them so that the first half hour they look adequate, it is necessary first to curl them with a curler, spread with a base, choose mascara with a convenient brush, paint over three times for five minutes, literally bending and pressing them to the upper eyelid, in order to add at least a little bit of a beautiful bend, and the end result is still not very good:

And after half an hour, they will completely fall and stick out like straight sticks. Horror. Therefore, thinking about building up has been in my head for a long time. They stopped only the possible inconveniences, which I will write about later, and the fact that many friends said that you cannot wet your eyelashes. Apparently, this was the case before, now many masters allow them to be wetted, although some still stick some old stuff (apparently) on some kind of dumb glue, and these eyelashes cannot be wetted. But then it really slowed me down, how not to wet my eyes? And how to wash? Is it not paint at all, but shadows? And what about the foundation? In general, it is possible to wet normal eyelashes, which is why I decided to eventually make myself an extension.

First of all, I was faced with the question of choosing a master.

What to look for when choosing a master? My thoughts and advice on this occasion:

1. Portfolio.

This is the very first criterion by which I choose a salon. I will never go to any master if I don't see enough of his work ... Of course, this does not protect against what exactly the master messes with you, but if the master has 200 photos in the album "My works", and I like them, then there is a high probability that I will get a result that suits me (if this is his work, of course). But if I am already confused more than 10% of the master's work, then I begin to think hard whether to go to him.

The ideal option is when I like everything "before and after" in the photo. Of course, the master may simply not post unsuccessful works, so I also look at the number and dates of the portfolio update, if it is replenished quite often good work, then it basically suits me. Unfortunately, with such requirements suitable master you can search for a very long time, and this approach may seem too meticulous to someone, but I want to choose the best of what is.

2. Place of work of the master.

This refers to a salon or at home. And although in the minds of many people, home craftsmen are immediately -5 to trust, I would not trust so much salons / offices. It seems to me that if the master is conscious and adequate, he will carry out high-quality sterilization of equipment at home, work with good materials and respectfully treat the client, and if the mother is careless, then he can twist problems on your face in the salon. I chose a salon for myself, simply because I liked the work of the master. Just ask the master the questions you are interested in, look at his reaction, decide whether you can trust him or not.

3. Reviews.

I think you should definitely look third party reviews to the master / salon, preferably negative... If there are none, this is already a little reassuring. There is a social. networks, all sorts of groups such as "Beauty Industry * city name *", you can flip through the notes on the wall there, or ask local residents if anyone did the procedures with the master you want to sign up to.

4. Price.

Too high a price can scare away, and too low arouse suspicion. If the price is too cheap, perhaps the master is working with low-quality cheap materials, which can negatively affect your health, and if this is still accompanied by active promotions such as "discounts for repost", then I personally would refuse the idea of signing up for such. By themselves, discounts and contests are good, of course, this is PR, it is needed, but if it gives off cheapness, then I will not risk it, it looks very much like a massive conveyor belt. Also, I would not dare to go to a novice master or trainee who only take money for materials. Yes, I understand, they also need to build a portfolio, but find someone else, not as paranoid as me

The price in my salon ( 800 rbl.) was average for my small town, so I didn't hesitate for long.

5. Certificates.

Many masters and salons post photos of their certificates in the public domain, and if they do it often and constantly for something study, go to master classes, then this also inspires confidence. You can at a preliminary consultation ask for information about the qualifications of the master, and if the master is adequate, he should not be indignant on this score, but understand that the client wants to trust him. If I were a master, I would have posted my certificates wherever possible, so that the client does not even immediately doubt that I am a specialist, and not a devil in a snuffbox.

6. Materials on which the master works.

If this is not your first extension, if you already have experience and knowledge, then pay attention to the materials themselves, it may be brands of manufacturers eyelashes, glue, eye patches, read also review about them in advance. The salon where I made eyelashes also sells a bunch of materials for eyelashes, nails, etc., so I had the opportunity to explore the range. And, in principle, normal masters like to upload photos and tell what they work on. Now, if you ask the master about his materials, and in response he mumbles something incomprehensible, or turns on the suspicious dog, convincing him that he has the most best materials, or even better - starts to be insolent, it is better to bypass such.

In principle, if I am satisfied with these points, then the rest are not so significant (the convenience of the location of the salon, for example) I no longer worry so much. And when you have already signed up and came to the master at the appointed time, you should also pay attention to his workplace.

What should you pay attention to, having already come to the master?

1. Yet again, certificates if you did not have time to get to know them in advance.

If you did not pay attention to them when choosing a master, then you have a chance to study them before the procedure. My master had them on the wall, which is a plus.

2. Working environment and hygiene.

In a good way all instruments must be clean and sterile, and all related products disposable(diapers on the couch, for example). And although eyelash extension is not a tattoo session, for example, where protection and disposable materials are simply necessary, because the work goes with the client's skin and blood, but I don't even care psychologically more comfortable if I see everything cozy, disposable, clean, not a mess in the office etc. Of course, you are unlikely to know how honestly the master processes the tools, he will not invite you into the office with the words “here, look, here we are disinfecting the tweezers,” but I am even reassured by the fact that they tell me “wait 10 minutes, I will process tools?".

2. The attitude of the master towards you.

I do not mean, of course, that the master should smile at you in 32 teeth and bow before your eyelashes, I am rather about what I like, what the master takes part in the discussion, gives advice, explains everything. The first time I started asking what is better for me to make the volume, how do they differ and all that, because I was going to do eyelashes for the first time, they told me everything in detail, showed, that is, I saw interest of the master in me as a client and in his work ... If they answered me something like “oh, how do I know, if you want a classic, if you want a double, I don't care at all,” it would definitely discourage me. I don't really like it when they treat the case and the client with indifference, I'm actually trying to choose here, I need help, you are a master or who!

The very process of building up and the sensations during and after it:

I lay down on the couch, they insulated my upper eyelashes with a patch, rubbed them with a degreasing compound, and then I just lay there for an hour and a half. It wasn't painful, ticklish, or unpleasant I just heard and felt how one hand was holding my eyelashes, and the other was gluing me new artificial ones.

At home, before that, I watched a video of eyelash extensions, and I knew what it was the extension is made by gluing an artificial eyelash to your eyelash.

After the master finished one eye, she removed the patch and gave me a mirror for me to evaluate the result. I liked the result, and I lay down to wait for the second eye.

To lie motionless for so long, of course, is hard, the whole body becomes numb, I want to kick my legs or roll over onto my back. Sometimes I bent my knees, sometimes I turned my lower body in different directions, in general, I did everything so as not to turn into stone completely. The master was sympathetic to this, said that many do this, and it is really difficult to lie still for so long. A couple of times I fell asleep in the process, woke up from the fact that I twitched my hand, but the master did not even notice.

After each eye, the master asks you to gently start to open your eyes so that check if eyelashes are stuck together to see if the glue has gotten anywhere. Once he somehow got on the corner of her lower eyelashes, and she carefully separated them. Generally I did not experience any discomfort during or after, and I did not feel eyelashes at all.

This is how my new eyelashes looked like:

That is why I chose this particular master. I like such thin fluffy eyelashes, and I don't like thick ones at all, otherwise some have such extensions as if they glued hard silicone sticks of the same length, and then the eyelashes look natural, like mine, only very cool.

1. The most important thing is not to wet them, not to comb them, not to rub them, not to go to baths and saunas, not to sleep with your muzzle in the pillow, in general, not to touch your eyelashes at all for the first day. On the first day, it turned out to be difficult for me, because as soon as I arrived home, I completely forgot that I now have extended eyelashes, and constantly tried to scratch my eyes out of habit, came across something fluffy and scared. And then I was like: “aa , these are new eyelashes. " I am true did not feel them at all! They are not that lungs, they simply weightless and imperceptible thin pussies.

2. After a day, the eyelashes can already be wetted, but throughout the wear you cannot rub them hard, tear them, or otherwise mechanically injure them, otherwise it will simply speed up the process of their flying off. Yes, the cilia are slowly beginning to fall off, I had 1-2 pieces every day while combing or washing. By the way, for combing I bought myself a set of such silicone brushes (10 pieces for 150 rubles):

I immediately threw one into a cosmetic bag in a bag to comb at work, the second thrown into a case with brushes at home. You need to comb your eyelashes, because otherwise they will look sloppy and disheveled, just do not need to do it too hard, do as you get tangled, you can only the tips, it is not necessary to comb from the roots.

Again about sensations - I have nothing itched beyond measure... Sometimes my eyes itch slightly from fatigue, sometimes something gets on the skin of the eyelids, that's how it remained with the eyelashes, they did not bring any additional sensations at all. I still didn't feel them.

After a couple of days, nothing fell off, but more on this a little later.

3. It is categorically impossible to use oil on eyelashes. and any of its derivatives, this will also lead to the earliest leaving of the eyelashes from the eyes, tk. oil can dissolve glue on which the eyelashes were planted. This turned out to be a small problem for me, since I usually washed off all makeup with hydrophilic oil, now I have to separately remove the make-up of my eyes with micellar, trying not to touch the eyelashes, and then carefully remove the remaining makeup from the face with hydrophilic oil, trying not to get into the area around the eyes. I also try to rinse off leftover cleansers with foam or water gently, without exposing lashes to copious amounts of water... In general, as they were punished - I try not to touch my eyelashes once again ... No, you can, of course, immediately start using micellar directly on the eyelashes, go over the top with some foam, and then apply a greasy eyelid cream along the growth line. But then your eyelashes will not live up to correction. So everything that does not touch the eyelashes and does not have a fat base is now our friend.

4. Correction- it is produced about 2 weeks later (plus or minus a couple of days) and if you have at least 50% of your eyelash extensions left. As it is correct, it costs not as a full-fledged extension, but some percentage of the total amount, in my case it was 50% ( 400 rbl .)

In general, I was afraid that I was using my eyelash supply too actively, and that my loss was too strong (of course not, several eyelashes a day is the norm). I was afraid that I would come to the master for correction, and she would say “sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, and where did you lose all my eyelashes, what is this, scoundrel?” But no, the master said that I had 60% percent or even more, and that this is a good result. This is how my eyelashes looked like before the correction (a little more than 2 weeks have passed since the extension):

Here in the photo they are simply unkempt, but in real life they looked pretty good.

I calmed down, they made a correction and released me. After the correction, the eyelashes looked like after the first extension (in the photo after a couple of days):

After the correction, you can wear your eyelashes as long as you want, or as long as you can. Because the next step is only the removal of eyelashes and the extension of new ones.

Difficulties that may arise after eyelash extension:

1. Penetration of eyelashes into the eye.

This is the only trouble I have encountered. If an ordinary native eyelash gets into the eye, then it is very strongly felt, but in principle you can try to blink, wash your hands and try to remove it. If an artificial eyelash gets into the eye, it is very unpleasant, it feels hard and large, and you need to get it out immediately, because if it rolls into a hard-to-reach place somewhere under the eyelid, it will be trash. I only hit it 2 times, and I remembered each one very well, now I am apprehensively waiting for the moment when the next time the eyelash will be in the eye. By the way, both times this happened after I was still touching the eyelashes with my hands out of habit. More reason to learn to leave them alone

2. Swelling of the eyes, itching, discomfort of the skin of the eyelids.

This can happen if the master used poor-quality materials that got on the skin, or high-quality ones, but you also have an allergy to them. Some masters glue the eyelashes very close to the skin, so the glue inevitably gets on it and provokes irritation, and some just work inaccurately. While they were making me eyelashes, I did not feel that eyelashes with glue were touching my eyelid skin, although, perhaps, this is not so. Some people in the morning cannot tear their eyes at all, because the eyelashes are all stuck together and swollen. This is either a crooked-handed master, or low-quality materials, or a severe allergy, or maybe all of them.

3. Increased loss of eyelashes in the first days.

This also happens quite often, and even more often together with the previous point, when people barely tear apart their puffy eyes, go to wash, and half of the eyelashes ends up in the sink, and the other half falls off the next day. What can I say, hello again to the crooked craftsmen with fig glue.

4. Your own eyelashes may suffer.

This may be, again, a consequence of the two previous points, or it may be the consequence of something else, for example, if your eyelashes are thin and weak, and you have a 4D volume with some hard and heavy eyelashes. Either they removed your eyelashes with a poor-quality composition. Or you yourself are actively rubbing the extended eyelashes because of some kind of discomfort and tear them out along with yours.

Some other not so common consequences are also possible, in any case, everything is individual and depends on your master and yourself. If you follow all the recommendations and carefully approach the choice of a professional, then such complications are minimized.

There are also aspects that I call nuances , not cons. This is again, for example, the fact that washing and washing your makeup will now have to be more careful, and also the fact that if you paint your eyes with shadows and use bulk products, they will remain on the eyelashes and look not very beautiful in general:

If eyelashes are already living last days, then you can paint them with ink, it will not get worse.

This is how my eyelashes looked a couple of weeks after the correction:

In principle, it was possible to walk as many more successfully with such, but on that day I just decided to break away and put on a lot of makeup to review the palette of shadows, after that I washed off the makeup with micellar and rubbed the eyelashes and between the eyelashes heavily, and when I realized that there was a couple more make-up - and they will come completely tryndets, then I washed myself a couple of times with a hydrophilic, why lose something, it's better to go to make new ones than to scrub them carefully for three hours, since this is already such an important matter. After all this, the eyelashes noticeably thinned, but they still looked better than my relatives. Without thinking twice, I signed up for the removal of old eyelashes and new extensions.

The next time I did a different build-up, I will review it later.

But I have a story to tell about eyelash removal. They laid me down on the couch again, patched and applied some composition to the eyelashes that smelled strongly of alcohol, they left me like this for about 10 minutes. This composition also did not cause discomfort, my eyes did not itch, did not itch, then they simply removed it along with artificial eyelashes.

I took a picture of the process of the new extension, my eyelashes on the left:

Remained in place the same as they were, did not fall off anywhere.

O pluses do I have to say, or is everything clear from the photo?

Minuses:

  • You can stumble upon a would-be master who will not only make the work crooked, but also ruin your eyelashes.
  • Allergy to materials may occur, especially if they are of poor quality.
  • Discomfort, itching, swelling of the eyes, sticking of eyelashes, etc. are possible.

But you can try to avoid this by following my advice above for choosing a good master.

Outcome:

I am very happy with her eyelash extensions, and in principle, this procedure is very useful for modern girls, I made a tattoo (only high-quality and beautiful too!), increased eyelashes, woke up and went to work as a beauty In addition, fluffy eyelashes save any makeup. Shading curve? Bang your eyelashes. Asymmetric arrows? Bang your eyelashes! Everything is better with eyelashes, so eyelash extensions I would definitely recommend!

The time when "false" eyelashes were an essential attribute graduation balls and wedding receptions and necessarily filmed after a day or night of wearing is a thing of the past. Today, silky and elastic villi, painstakingly built up by a qualified specialist, are capable of permanently, and, if necessary, radically transforming the appearance of their owner. What is eyelash extension, what are the pros and cons of the procedure, is it possible unwanted consequences and what will have to be abandoned after it?

The eyelashes used in the extension procedure are small black fibers made of synthetic materials that imitate animal fur, silk, etc.

With the help of hypoallergenic glue, the villi or their bundles are glued to the base of their own cilia, after which a fixative is applied - a protective coating that fixes the artificial and at the same time nourishes "own" eyelashes.
Correctly extended eyelashes organically "fit" into the appearance of their owner and are very reminiscent of natural ones.

What is the procedure for?

Eyelash extensions - very popular procedure in beauty salons

The main advantages of eyelash extensions are relatively long-term lengthening of eyelashes and the absence of the need for a daily curling procedure with tweezers.

For owners of not very long, dull eyelashes, this is easy way adjust the shape of the eyes and the depth of the gaze and "earn" compliments without resorting to lengthening mascara.

How does the procedure take place?

After examining all the information, you made an informed decision, settled down comfortably on the couch, and an experienced master proceeded to "witchcraft" over the enchanting gaze.
The first thing he will do is to treat the eyelids with a degreasing agent and, with the help of a silicone pad, gently "glue" the cilia of the lower eyelid to the skin (only the upper eyelashes are increased).
After that, the specialist lays out artificial hairs and, prying them with tweezers, lowers them into the glue to the middle, and then sticks them onto the natural eyelash at a distance of 0.5-1 mm from the eyelid.
Sometimes the extension is performed using the volumetric method - 2-5 artificial hairs, fastened in a bundle. This method does not imply long-term wearing of extended eyelashes, but it will quickly make you irresistible at special events.
After 1.5-3 hours, necessary for the master to do fine work, you are ready to "conquer with a glance."

Build-up or lamination?

Another popular way to enhance the beauty of your eyes is eyelash lamination. During the procedure, each individual eyelash is painted over and covered with a mixture containing keratins, minerals and vitamins.
Comparing extension and lamination, it is worth noting that the effect of the former is more impressive, even if the procedure is performed on short, rare eyelashes.
However, the owners of extended eyelashes will have to resort to their correction on a monthly basis, and in addition, refuse to visit the bath and sauna, refrain from using oil-based cosmetics and with the presence of organic acids in the composition.
Lamination, on the other hand, is more aimed at healing - after the procedure, the cilia become soft, acquire a silky shine, and thanks to staining, they seem longer and curved. You will not have to limit yourself in the use of decorative cosmetics and care products, as well as in the conduct of bath procedures, after lamination. The cost of lamination is 2-2.5 times cheaper than building.

Eyelash extensions: pros and cons

The desire to "kill" with a wave of the fluffy ones, volume eyelashes as well as love, all ages are submissive. However, first it does not hurt to figure out whether eyelash extension spoils your eyelashes, and whether the procedure will affect your overall health:

  • Why do eyelashes “crumble”? The "glued" villi somewhat burden their own eyelashes. Young, newly emerging hairs (they look like "fluff") will not support the weight of the false villi. The harm from eyelash extensions to a young "fluff" is obvious - under the additional weight, such an eyelash will bend ugly, stop growing or fall out altogether. With the active growth of the cilium, the glued villus moves away from the root. Therefore, the extension of growing eyelashes (a competent master visualizes them by medium length) involves removal or mandatory correction 2-4 weeks after the procedure. Otherwise, the growing hair will inaccurately twist in the other direction. The best result is achieved with the extension of grown, resting eyelashes;
  • Whether eyelashes deteriorate after extension - even a beautician will definitely not answer. However, their condition directly depends on the observance of the procedure technology, the quality of the materials used, the correct care during the period of using the "artificial" cilia and after their removal. So, even if the extension is carried out correctly - each villi is glued to a separate eyelash, be prepared for the fact that after 7-14 days, about 1/5 of your natural hairs will fall out along with the villi glued to them. After another 2 weeks, a very thinned augmented row will require correction;
  • How many times in a row you can extend eyelashes - depends on the state of your own "plumage" of the eyes after wearing them. So, if after removing the artificial "own" cilia were broken or "gaps" appeared in their row, it is better to postpone the repeated procedure for 2-3 months. And professionals do not recommend constantly extending eyelashes: after long-term "gluing" your own hairs will need at least a short rest and oil make-up;
  • Sometimes girls notice that after the extension, their own eyelashes have become short. There is often a psychological background here: the "memory" of the once magnificent framing of the eyes is triggered. But if, after removing it, your eyelashes fall out, break - "feed" them with oils: apricot, almond, castor or burdock; drink vitamin and mineral complexes with vitamin D, phosphorus and calcium;
  • From how many years it is worth extending eyelashes - a purely individual question. Young ladies "on the sly" get acquainted with decorative cosmetics already at the age of 11-12. And not always cosmetics - for children's use. There are no age restrictions for artificial eyelashes as such. On the one hand, the glued hairs will become an obstacle on the way to applying immoderate "war paint" on the eyes, but on the other hand, it is worth explaining to the young beauty that the procedure will seriously test her nerves.

Beautiful or dangerous?

Before making a final decision - whether to extend eyelashes or not, make sure that you do not fall into the category for which this procedure will be harmless.
Despite the apparent safety, there are medical contraindications for eyelash extensions:

  • The most harmful eyelash extension for allergy sufferers. The reaction can be both to a bonding glue, which contains butyl cyanoacrylate, octyl cyanoacrylate and even formaldehydes, or to artificial hairs. And therefore, after pasting a few villi, wait a few minutes for the reaction of the body;
  • When are eyelash extensions prohibited? With frequent relapses of eye diseases (conjunctivitis, blepharitis, etc.), skin lesions (psoriasis, demodicosis), endocrine diseases ( diabetes), asthma, at the time of illness, flu or ARVI, acute respiratory infections, eyelash extensions can be dangerous;
  • Many ladies, dissatisfied with the thickness and length of the natural "plumage" of the eyes and forced to wear contact lenses at the same time, are worried - will eyelash extensions affect vision? Some building adhesives do contain a substance that can impair vision - bimatoprost. In ophthalmic practice, it is used to lower intraocular pressure. Among the undesirable effects of bimatoprost are a decrease in visual acuity and possible problems from the retina. The substance also has one very interesting side effect- enhancement of eyelash growth. In addition, the manipulations associated with putting on and taking off lenses disturb the "peace" of the extended hairs, and their "rows" thin out faster.

It is worth considering the decision on the procedure for owners of dry or oily skin of the eyelids:

  • Dry skin requires daily oil or fat "recharge". In turn, any oil base"Washes away" the glue that holds synthetic hairs with natural ones;
  • At oily skin century, the natural renewal of your own eyelashes is twice as fast. Along with them, artificial ones "crumble".

"Special" provisions

With daily use of make-up, the components of cosmetics are absorbed through the skin and penetrate into the blood. Therefore, many women who are expecting a baby restrict the use of products from the cosmetic "arsenal".
And so, in the daily striving to enjoy your reflection in the mirror, the question naturally arises - is it possible for pregnant women to extend their eyelashes? After all cosmetic procedure, on the one hand, eliminates the tedious process of applying makeup, and on the other hand, from the need to use harmless mascara and shading agents.
Pregnancy is not among the contraindications to the procedure. Resinous glue and other materials used for building up are non-toxic and hypoallergenic.
But there are several nuances that should not be ignored, being "in position":

  • The time when it is best to turn to the extension procedure is the 2nd trimester. For more early dates, in the presence of toxicosis, salon aromas can cause nausea, and later, when swelling appears, the procedure can lead to irritation and even inflammation of the eyelids or eyes. Yes, and the "grown" tummy is unlikely to withstand the procedure, lying on the back for 2-3 hours;
  • Hair and eyelashes become more brittle during pregnancy. Even an experienced craftsman does not guarantee that neatly glued "curls" will not thin out in a couple of weeks.

A slight swelling can also be observed during menstruation - eyelash extensions during this period are complicated by some stubbornness of the eyelid skin, due to which the effect of the procedure will be less long-term. Also, the transformation of the eyes against the background of hormonal fluctuations of the "critical" period or during pregnancy can cause an allergic reaction to glue or artificial hairs.

After the procedure

There are a number of rules that owners of eyelash extensions must follow:

  • Remember: the glue that holds the artificial hairs together with natural hair dries completely within 12 hours. Lashmaker will prohibit you from crying, sweating, taking any water procedures for a day;
  • Artificial eyelashes are very fragile, and therefore, during the entire period of wearing, avoid touching them with your hands; do not rub your eyes, and when putting on the lenses, be sure to carry out preliminary hand hygiene;
  • Use shadows and eyeliner only in special cases, and refuse from mascara and curling irons altogether - the color of "synthetic" eyelashes is quite intense, and their shape can be discussed in advance;
  • Do not use oil-based make-up products - along with the cosmetics, they will remove the "stuck" hairs.

Discuss all the nuances of the procedure with the master, make up your mind - and remain irresistible!
