Goose collection, or Easter decor in country style

I created this “Goose Collection” especially for the recent Easter. Of course, I created it in advance, back in the winter, and this collection sold out instantly. Then I had to sew several dozen more repetitions.

There doesn’t seem to be anything special in this “Goose Collection” - ordinary kitchen textiles: serving napkins, a tea warmer, an oven mitt, a table runner, several different towels, a bag holder, a country-style bread box and rusk bowl. But I think this collection gained its popularity thanks to the fabric. More precisely, a pattern on fabric. It turned out that the image of Czech geese is very popular among the female part of the population.

Come on, Christmas trees, stand in a row!

And a few more works from my New Year's collection. There were boots, a house and pillows too, now Christmas tree decorations and interior decorations are next. I sewed these textile Christmas trees for the New Year. They are also in a rustic style, made of linen, decorated with lace, bows and bells.

I spent a long time fiddling with these Christmas trees. I wanted to make each one original and special. And each one turned out to have its own character: one is playful, a little romantic, in a dress with frills, the other is strict, restrained, even a little conservative, the third is a lover of gold jewelry, the fourth is rustic and modest... At least, that’s how I see them.

New Year rustic style – 2

I continue to show new textile items from the “New Year in Rustic Style” collection.

If in the previous post I talked about New Year's boots, then in this I will show New Year's pillows and a textile house.

Both the house and the pillows are made of gray linen, felt and American cotton. Of course, linen fabric is taken as a basis; what would a rustic style be without unbleached linen!

    New Year in rustic style

Happy first day of winter to you, dear readers my blog!

May this winter not be too frosty, with fluffy white snow, with a clear blue sky (how I love this incredibly clear, bright winter sky), and may this winter be warmed by the love of loved ones!

When decorating a house before the New Year or Christmas, you want to create something new, unusual, while remaining within the framework of traditions. More and more people are turning to decor in a rustic style. Quite modest, not flashy decorations, a return to rural life with its straightforwardness, natural materials - these are the main features of the rustic style.

New Year is a joyful, cheerful holiday, which should be remembered when choosing decorative details.

A Christmas tree is desirable to be real, large, with a beautiful top and shining garlands. should be large, clear - cardboard snowflakes covered with white, bows made of bleached linen, large light balls, forest animals, carriages, stars and crescents. There should be something deliberate in the simplicity of the design, closeness to rural reality, but in no case a repetition of the bright and carefree.

Decorations for rooms - dining room, kitchen, living room - are made from burlap, bleached linen, natural wood, tree bark, and roots.

An amazing garland of cut logs with congratulations, a boot cut from plywood for gifts, open pine cones lightly sprinkled with white or silver paint.

A little imagination - and an ordinary tin bucket magically turns into a Christmas still life.

Wreaths are an obligatory adherence to traditions; they can be knitted from lush spruce branches or from smooth vines, but they must be decorated with ribbons, albeit linen ones, and candles.

In the kitchen, it’s good to attach a spruce branch on the wall, an analogue of a large Christmas tree, with small toys from grandma’s chest. Decorate the nursery walls with large plywood stars, snowmen, snowflakes, and reindeer.

Candles are an integral part of the holiday. Large and small, thick and thin, mostly straight cylindrical, but also twisted, tied with scarlet braid. Candlesticks can be made from bark - beautiful, stylish, New Year's style.

The main Christmas tree toy - a ball - also follows the chosen somewhat brutal rustic style. These are not fragile mirror balls, although there is a place for such at the holiday. These are balls made of braid, cut from burlap and bleached linen, with rope loops; you can cover them with checkered fabric.

Even lace, an essential element of rural life, is woven from dense twisted thread.

Tablecloths and napkins shine with white linen, edged with homemade lace. The high bed is proud of a mountain of pillows in linen pillowcases with stitching and lace valance.

New Year is very close. So, it’s time to start creating in the house festive atmosphere. And the Christmas tree will help you with this like no other. And we will tell you how to decorate beautifully christmas tree with your own hands.

Without a doubt, the best part of the New Year's rush is decorating the Christmas tree. After all, you can spend this time pleasantly with your family. I think you won’t deny that the opportunity to decorate a Christmas tree together brings you together and gives you a lot of positive emotions.

In addition, you should know that the tradition of decorating a Christmas tree came to us from ancient times; it was believed that the spruce symbolizes the triumph of life over death and protects the home from evil spirits. So as you can see, a decorated Christmas tree is not easy beautiful decoration your home, but also to some extent a talisman.

Of course, our ancestors did not have all kinds of Christmas tree decorations, so they decorated the tree with nuts, fruits, cookies, candies, etc. You and I are luckier: we have garlands, tinsel, various toys at our disposal - if you wish, you can decorate the Christmas tree extraordinarily beautifully. But first things first, because among the many Christmas tree decorations you can easily get lost.

First of all, you need to buy a Christmas tree: it’s up to you to decide: some people like artificial trees, and some only like live ones. By the way, when considering artificial Christmas trees, you can buy a “snow-covered” Christmas tree, which you won’t find among the living. If you want a live Christmas tree in the snow, but can’t find one anywhere, this is not a reason to be upset. After all, this matter is fixable: firstly, you can buy special artificial snow in the form of a spray in the store, or you can do it more economically and make artificial snow to decorate the Christmas tree with your own hands. How to make artificial snow with your own hands?

There are several ways to make artificial snow with your own hands:

  1. Spread the branches of the Christmas tree with glue and sprinkle with sugar or salt; in fact, this option is more suitable for decorating toys.
  2. Mix semolina, white paint and glue in equal proportions - you can change the proportions at your discretion.
  3. This method of making artificial snow for a Christmas tree is one of the best: you need to grate white soap and mix it with starch, poured with warm water. Add hot water and whisk for about 2 minutes until you get the consistency of shaving foam. The finished “snow” should be immediately applied to the branches of the Christmas tree directly with your hands. You can see the result in the photo below.

In general, no matter what green beauty you choose, it still needs to be conveniently located in the house. As a rule, the best place to place a Christmas tree is considered to be a large window in the living room, but again it all depends on you and the layout of your apartment.

The next step is to think about how to decorate the bottom of the tree. You can use some beautiful basket, you can even weave it from newspaper tubes.

Or you can use a blanket, a blanket, or just a piece of some suitable fabric (it’s better to think in advance about how you want to decorate the Christmas tree and choose everything). The result will be a kind of imitation of a Christmas tree skirt. Of course, if time permits, you can work hard and sew beautiful skirt under the tree. And about how to sew a skirt for a Christmas tree, read the article: “Skirt for a Christmas tree: how to make/sew a skirt for a Christmas tree with your own hands.”

In addition, you can beautifully wrap the Christmas tree stand with burlap and tie it beautifully with ribbon.

  1. You should start decorating the Christmas tree with a garland, and keep in mind that for every meter of tree height you need 150-200 garland lights (this is of course average, plus it’s also important how lush your tree is).
  2. Then you can hang Christmas decorations: first the large ones (approximately at the same distance), then hang the medium and small ones - fill the gaps between the large ones.
  3. And remember that it is better to place the brightest and brightest colors in the foreground. beautiful toys, and in the depths you can hang less attractive ones.
  4. Finally, you can decorate the tree with tinsel, ribbons or a homemade non-electric garland, and the final touch is rain.
