If you do not use the snow-effect structured paste within this time, it may dry out. 1:14 The easiest way to make realistic snow - for this we need a matte acrylic paint and semolina, and nothing else. We squeeze out the white paint and add semolina to it to the desired consistency. You get a beautiful snow-white mass. 2:24 We apply this mixture to the finished work, covered with a finishing coat of varnish. We cook it only for 1 time, we do not store it. 2:33 And if you sprinkle this mass with snow-white sparkles, you get real snow - deep matte with a mysterious white sheen. 2:49 A magnet comparing branded pasta and homemade paste. 3:25 Invitation to New Year's decoupage from A to Z http://youtu.be/LHqxy9K3Z-I

Artificial snow can help you have fun with your baby and can also be useful for a variety of crafts / handicrafts. How can you make it so that it is budgetary enough and simple? We have collected for you 20 options for artificial snow recipes - try and share your impressions. Not all of them will completely imitate snow - fluffy, soft, cold and smelling fresh. There is also "snow" paint for painting and "snow" slime, and "snow" plasticine, and other interesting substances. But they all have the most direct relation to snow and will definitely appeal to children. And if you need "adult" options for use in needlework, then go straight to the second part (paragraph 9 and further)

For children, the most curious options are those suggested by Crystal Andrewood.

How to make artificial snow at home

1. Shining snow

It comes out cold, fluffy and very soft.

Ingredients:

Two boxes corn starch/ corn flour

Shaving gel

Peppermint extract (optional)

2. Snow plasticine

Ingredients:

2 cups of baking soda

1 cup cornstarch

1 and 1/2 cups cold water

A few drops of peppermint extract

3. Snow "slime"

Ingredients:

2 cups PVA glue

1.5 cups hot water

Optional: a few drops of mint extract to give the slime a frosty scent

Mix in a small bowl

In a second bowl, mix

3/4 teaspoon borax

1.3 cups hot water
Combine the contents of both bowls and stir with your hands for a few minutes until the mixture begins to stretch.

4. Snow paint

Ingredients:

Shaving gel

PVA school glue

Peppermint extract

5. "Silk" snow

Ingredients:

Frozen white soap bars (any brand)

Cheese grater

Peppermint extract

Method of preparation - Send the soap to the freezer overnight. In the morning, you can take it out one piece at a time (Crystal used 6 bars) and rub it on a grater. This will create fluffy snow, which you can add glitter and mint extract to. It molds beautifully, and you can make a snowman or any other figurine.

6. Snow dough

Ingredients:

Cornstarch (freeze overnight to keep the snow dough cold)

Lotion (refrigerated overnight to keep the snow cold)

7. "Liquid" snow.

Ingredients:

Frozen corn starch

Ice water

Peppermint extract

Add ice water to the starch that you took out of the freezer until the desired consistency is obtained. It is recommended to add a little, so that the "snow" does not turn out to be too liquid.

Also, if you've never made a non-Newtonian liquid before, you might be in for a surprise. Because with active interaction, the mass becomes harder and more viscous, and at rest it spreads.

8. Snow from shaving foam

Ingredients:

1 can of shaving foam

1.5 packs of soda

sequins (optional)

Squeeze the contents of the foam can into a bowl and gradually add the baking soda. You will have a very nice mass of snow, from which you can sculpt figures.

Now let's move on to the adult part.

Artificial Snow Recipes

9. Snow made of foamed polyethylene

Ingredients:
foamed polyethylene (used as a packaging material for equipment, glass; shoe inserts) or polystyrene;
fine grater.
We work with gloves. Grind polyethylene or polystyrene on a grater and ... Voila! You have fluffy flakes all over your house !!! If you add sparkles, then the snow will also sparkle. You can sprinkle anything you want with this snow, if you first grease the surface with liquid (diluted with water) PVA glue.

10. Snow out polymer clay

Ingredients:
the remains of dried polymer clay (plastic).
Needlewomen often keep the remains of polymer clay, which is a pity to throw away. It is very convenient to grind it with your hands, and then with a coffee grinder. It turns out a light and multi-colored (when using colored clay) snowball, which can be used to decorate postcards and other hand-made products.

11. Snow from a baby diaper

Ingredients:
baby diaper.
To get snow, you need:
1.Cut open the diaper and remove the sodium polyacrylate from it, and then tear into small pieces.
2. Put the resulting mass into a container and fill it with water. Pour in gradually, in small portions, until the pieces of polyacrylate begin to resemble snow. Just do not overdo it, otherwise it will turn out too wet;
3. To make the snow look more realistic, put the container in the refrigerator, but not in the freezer.

12. Salt frost

Ingredients:
salt (preferably coarsely ground);
water.
Preparing a concentrated salt solution. To do this, fill the pan with a little water and set it on low heat. Add salt until it stops dissolving. We dip the branches of a spruce, pine or any other plant in a hot solution and leave for a while. The crystal formation process is much faster in warm water! Let the water drain and leave the plants to dry for 4-5 hours. Sparkling frost is guaranteed to you! If you add brilliant green, food coloring or ink to a salty solution, then the frost will turn out to be colored!

13. Artificial snow for the "snow globe"

Ingredients:
Paraffin candle
It must be grated on a fine grater. This "snow" is great for making toys "a la snowball" when glycerin and artificial snow flakes are added to the water. The container is hermetically closed and when shaken, the snow smoothly sinks to the bottom.

You can really go a simpler way - and add ordinary sparkles to such a ball. It will turn out to be no less impressive.

14. Snow from PVA and flock

Flock is a very finely chopped pile. And if you are lucky enough to find a pack of white flock on sale - rejoice. After all, now you will get "snow" for any craft in a matter of minutes. It is enough to generously grease the surface with glue and sprinkle with flock on top (you can use a strainer).

15. Snow from PVA and starch

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons of starch

2 tablespoons PVA

2 tablespoons silver paint

Mix (grind) the ingredients thoroughly.

Such snow is suitable when you need to decorate the surface of the product with a voluminous white mass.

16. Mass simulating snow

Ingredients:

fine quartz sand or semolina or foam crumbs

white acrylic

thick PVA

1. Pour a small amount of the material of your choice into a bowl. Approximately 1 faceted glass.
2. In this bulk material, we begin to gradually add white acrylic paint. From experience, it is better to buy it at a hardware store for facade work. We add to such a state that our free-flowing particles stick together, but do not float in the liquid.
3. Then add PVA, preferably thick. We also add quite a bit so that the mixture is elastic and viscous.
4. Well, and some silver sequins. We mix everything and ... everything !!!

Edible snow recipes.

17. Sugar Snow

Ingredients:
sugar.
Dip the rim of the glass (glass) in water or syrup, and then in sugar.

18. "Snowy" plants
Ingredients:
gum arabic;
egg white.
Plants (non-poisonous and non-bitter) can be sugared with these components. Flowers of pear, apple, cherry, rose, violet, primrose, lemon, begonias, chrysanthemums, gladioli, pansies taste good. The candied leaves of mint, lemon balm, geranium are beautiful and very fragrant. Dissolve 12 g of gum arabic with constant stirring in ¼ glass of hot water (in a water bath). Cool the solution. Prepare sugar syrup: 100 g sugar in ¼ glass of water. Cool too. Apply the gum arabic solution to the plants with a brush, and then the sugar syrup. Sprinkle with fine granulated sugar (but not powdered). Dry on parchment or tracing paper. Such a "snowy" beauty will not deteriorate for several months. These flowers can be used to decorate a birthday cake or your favorite small sweet pastries.

19. "Snowy" plants - option 2

Ingredients:
egg white;
sugar.
Beat the egg white and sugar until frothy. Apply with a brush to the petals of the plant and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Put the plants prepared in this way on parchment and put in the oven over low heat. Two hours later, you can admire the beauty!

20. salty "snow" for meat

Ingredients:
a pinch of salt;
egg white.
Beat the egg white and a pinch of salt into a stiff foam using a mixer. Lay this impromptu snow on the meat and send it to the oven! Miracles: a chicken in a snowdrift!

I really hope that from these 20 options for artificial snow recipes you were able to find the right one for yourself.

Hand-made lovers use the most different materials, achieving the exclusive "sound" of the craft. In this regard, artificial snow is in great demand, which can give any man-made masterpiece naturalism, freshness and festivity. In large volumes, it leaves, of course, at Christmas and New Years, however, it does not go unnoticed for other reasons. So, artificial snow in spray cans is in great demand when decorating wedding interiors and celebrating the birth of a baby. And in other situations, it is very appropriate.

Artificial snow for decoration

This element is used in cases where the creator wants to achieve maximum realism and believability by adding coolness and volume to a painting or craft. More or less wealthy people buy artificial snow in cans equipped with convenient sprayers. If the material is needed in larger quantities, it is purchased dry, and after filling with water it turns into a real snowdrift. Moreover, you can achieve its different consistency: to increase fluffiness, use a reduced volume of water, to obtain density - specified in the instructions. From the latter, you can easily make snowballs or snowmen that will not melt, but will stand in your interior even until summer.

If the designer's goal is flat drawings (for example, on windows), an artificial snow spray, similar to graffiti paints, is purchased. All these factory suggestions are convenient not only in use, but also in subsequent cleaning. Drawings from the glass can be washed off with a damp cloth without labor and streaks, they are not even required detergents... And artificial snow for decoration, packaged in bags or cans, can be easily removed with a vacuum cleaner, since it is a dielectric and does not stick to anything. So bringing the apartment to a pre-holiday state is no different from the usual weekly cleaning.

The only thing that artificial snow can upset a handmaker is the price, which is quite high. If you need a little of it for your ideas, you can, of course, pay 600 rubles for a 100 gram bag. But not everyone will agree to spend on more. It is even more impractical to purchase artificial snow spray: you will have to pay more than 400 rubles for a spray can, and the total mass at the exit turns out to be much less than from dry snow. Therefore, craftsmen have developed a lot of ways to make it from scrap materials available in the purchase.

Homemade snow: method 1. We use foam

One of the simplest "recipes" for making artificial snow is to use polyethylene foam or regular foam. The latter is familiar to everyone and everyone. The first term means a material for packing glass items, office equipment, and liners for shoes are made of it. To get artificial snow, it is enough to grate the foam. You can crush it with a fork or chop it up with a knife, but in this case the flakes will be coarser and more patchy. It is necessary to work with polystyrene / polyethylene with gloves - the particles stick to your hands. The resulting snow can be sprinkled with anything, it is enough just to smear the pre-decorated surface with ordinary PVA.

Homemade snow: method 2. Stock up on clay

Those who often and a lot do handicrafts often have pieces of dried polymer clay. They must first be crumbled by hand, and then grind in a coffee grinder. If the plastic has been dyed, you will end up with multi-colored artificial snow, which makes it even more interesting to use it. Plus, it will be just as light as the previous method, so it can be applied to a wide variety of items, including cardboard postcards.

Homemade snow: method 3. Making frost

In cases where frost is required by design, there is a very simple option for creating it. You need coarse salt and very little water. A bowl of liquid is placed on a low fire, and salt is gradually poured into it. This should be done until it stops blooming even when heated - this is how brine is obtained, a supersaturated salt solution. You need to use it hot: pine paws, cones, fancifully curved branches - everything that you need to "silver" is lowered there. After a day, a sparkling layer of frost will lie on them. And if you add dyes, brilliant green, ink to the brine, then your artificial snow will not only shine, but also acquire different shades.

Homemade snow: method 4. As easy as shelling pears

Of the tools, you only need a grater, as in the very first technique. And as a starting material, a white stearic candle is taken. Grated finely, it is mixed with the cheapest baby powder - the same talc, for example. Instead of a candle, you can use baby white soap, it will turn out just as good. Only if you rubbed the candle, keep the craft away from heating devices, and if soap, it should not be placed in a damp place or taken with wet hands.

Homemade snow: method 5. Using semolina

For drawings and postcards, ordinary decoy will perfectly act as snow. The only task is to find cereals without a yellowish tint. Places in the image where there should be a snowball are coated with glue and generously sprinkled with semolina. After drying, the excess is simply shaken off. In the same way, artificial snow can be obtained from coarse, better sea (it has a bluish tint) salt. Only the glue needs to be taken less liquid and, again, protect the product from water.

Homemade snow: method 6. Stock up on different materials

If you need a not very voluminous snow cover in the picture, you can mix shaving foam with PVA glue taken in the same amount. As it dries, you get a convex and elegant picture.

But if you need volume, it is better to make artificial snow from soda with the same foam. You will need a bottle of it, and soda - a standard pack. On something even, the entire contents of the bottle are released, into which, little by little, with constant stirring, the powder is poured. If something is supposed to be sculpted out of snow, the foam is replaced with a hair conditioner (a quarter of a can for a pack of soda).

You can also make artificial snow from baking soda by mixing it with PVA. Experienced handmakers advise adding white acrylic to the composition, believing that without it, the mixture after drying gives some yellowness. The snow will become even more natural if crushed glass is added to the composition - the sparks will be pronounced. You just need to take thin, for example, from pharmacy ampoules or light bulbs.

Homemade snow: method 7. An interesting solution

A very interesting technology, how to make artificial snow, was probably developed by young mothers. It only requires a clean baby diaper of any production. In it, the absorbent substance is sodium polyacrylate, which will become the basis for the snow. On the diaper, you need to cut the outer shell and take out the filler. It looks like a dense cotton wool.

Tear the polyacrylate into small pieces that can be folded into any container. Water is poured into it a little bit until the contents look like lush snow. Your task is not to overflow the liquid, as excess of it will make the snow wet and untidy. To increase the likelihood, the vessel can be placed in the cold, but not in the freezer. This artificial snow can be colored if desired. Food colors are particularly suitable for this purpose.

Frost patterns

On New Year's Eve, windows are painted in almost every family. Windows with natural frosty stains look especially aesthetically pleasing and elegant. You don't have to wait for freezing temperatures to get them. You need to go to the pharmacy and buy 50 grams of magnesium. It dissolves in half a glass of light beer. Glass intended for decoration is washed and dried. Use a brush, sponge or sponge to apply curls and feathers to the window that mimic natural Frost patterns... As soon as they dry up, they will be like real ones.

And for the image of wonderful snowflakes on the windows, artificial snow from toothpaste is very suitable. First, you need to cut the template out of thin paper and stick it on the right place. No adhesives, just wet the surface with tap water. In a small glass toothpaste it is diluted a little thinner than its natural consistency (like very thick sour cream). An old toothbrush is lowered into the container, paste is collected on it and sprayed both on the snowflake itself and a little around it. When the installation dries up, the paper template is neatly peeled off - and you have an elegant snow-covered window.

Homemade snow for decorating dishes

For a holiday, not only the room should be elegant. The dishes served are arranged by the hostesses by definition, but the dishes must also be appropriate for the moment. Here, too, artificial snow, only edible, will be very useful. Several options can be proposed in this direction.

  1. Wine glasses decoration. Granulated sugar is poured onto a saucer, the glass is dipped into water (you can use juice or syrup), and after the excess liquid has drained off, put on a saucer. Turn over and we have a beautiful snow rim. For tequila lovers, the same process for the shots is carried out using lemon juice and salt.
  2. To decorate the sweets, beat the egg white and sugar vigorously. On any culinary masterpiece, protruding elements are smeared or a winter pattern is drawn. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and we have snow-covered delicacies.
  3. An original decoration for meat dishes: egg whites beat into a tight foam with a mixer along with a small amount of salt, the mass is laid out on a baked slice and placed in the oven. Suitable for chicken, pork with beef, and fish. Do not be afraid to oversalt: the concentration of salt will not be so high in the "snowdrift".

You can come up with your own snow decorations, which will add not only beauty to the dish, but also taste grace. Here it is only important to try to use ingredients that will give the decoration the whiteness and structure of real snow.

DIY snow paste?

To bring all the ideas of New Year's decoupage to life, you will need a paste that imitates snow. It is needed both for the idea of decoupage a bottle of champagne for the new year, and for Christmas tree decorations... Ready, it is quite expensive. But making an imitation of snow with your own hands is much easier than looking for it in a store. For this I take:
1. semolina - 2 tablespoons,
2.acrylic paint of white color - 2 spoons,
3.Liquid PVA - 2 spoons.

I knead all the ingredients in a plastic cup. Glitters or larger sparkles can be mixed into the snow. In the recipe, it is not at all necessary to use strictly semolina, you can take small polystyrene (it works well for a bottle of champagne, but it will not work for a ball, as it will give a too large texture).
This paste is easy to make, but it should be mixed in small quantities and used only fresh.
Decoupage technique is a simple and versatile method of decorating many surfaces. With its help, you can make bright toys for the New Year, elegant and unusual bottles of champagne, spectacular boxes and even decorate many interior items. You can also find excellent

In this master class, we will make such a beauty out of an ordinary bottle of champagne that it will be a pity to open it :) But you can proudly present it to someone for the New Year!

To decorate a bottle of champagne, we need:

  • the bottle of champagne itself;
  • nail polish remover (or acetone, alcohol, dishwashing liquid);
  • printout with a New Year's motive;
  • acrylic putty;
  • acrylic paints;
  • acrylic matt varnish;
  • embossed paste in a tube with a thin nose;
  • PVA glue ";
  • semolina;
  • lilac glitter (or any small sparkles);
  • fresh branches of thuja (or cypress, spruce, fir);
  • plastic plate, brushes, toothpicks, foam sponge, rags, napkins;
  • palette knife (or any convenient tool for working with putty);
  • sandpaper No. 800;
  • ribbons.

Soak the bottle in water for a couple of hours to easily remove all paper stickers. Then we remove all labels and degrease with a nail polish remover. We proceed to the primer. We prime the bottle with acrylic white paint using a sponge 2 times with intermediate drying. We do not touch the uppermost part, we will decorate it minimally. Otherwise, it will be difficult to open the champagne later.

Carefully tear off the edges of the printout. This will allow you to later hide its borders when gluing. We cover with 3 layers of varnish with intermediate drying.

Trying on the printout for the bottle. We make small tears along the edges along the perimeter of the picture so that folds will clearly appear when gluing. Next, moisten the white side of the printout with a wet sponge and carefully roll the paper, leaving only the colored layer.

Lubricate the place under the motif with PVA glue and glue the printout, expelling air bubbles and straightening the motif with a rag or napkins. Leave to dry. After drying, sand the small folds that still appear.

Now let's start decorating the top of the bottle. To do this, in a plastic plate, mix the putty with a small amount of PVA glue and start applying it on the neck with a palette knife, gradually dropping down. In the course of application, we glue the thuja branches onto the mass, pressing them well. In some places we coat it with putty on top of the branches additionally.

So, on the front side of the bottle - a drawing, on top in a circle - fir branches, and on the back of the bottle we will write with embossed paste "Happy new year".

Now we leave everything to dry for a day.

When the putty is completely dry, you need to check well all the hardened branches. If there are soft pieces, they must be trimmed. Next, we cover the relief with varnish and paint the entire bottle with a sponge in the main color blue metallic. We varnish again.

After the varnish has dried, we begin to paint on the motive, mixing paints and continuing it along the entire radius of the bottle. We cover with a layer of varnish. Dry.

After that, in a plastic plate, mix semolina with white paint 1: 1, add a couple of drops of PVA glue and "revive" the snow. In small areas, it is convenient to do this with a toothpick. Also, sprinkle the spruce branches and the top of the bottle with snow, decorate the inscription.

We leave everything to dry well. Then you need to mix a little varnish with a little glitter. We cover the entire bottle with the resulting varnish with sparkles, giving Special attention"Snowy" places. Next, add more glitter to the varnish and additionally cover the inscription, making it more elegant and bright.
