Useful video about crafts made from egg trays

Video about wall decor using papier-mâché made from egg trays:

Ekaterina Kalugina

To work in papier technique-mache we use cardboard egg cassettes, water, PVA glue. How to prepare the mixture for crafts is described in detail in the previous post. blog: http://www..html

Basis for mushroom We used a 1.5-liter plastic bottle, for stability you can fill it with alabaster or something heavy, we only had water on hand, so we poured some water into the bottle for stability. An oval was cut out of cardboard - the basis for the hat mushroom, attached under the bottle cap. We put crumpled newspaper on a cardboard base, giving the shape of the future hat, and glue it with tape or any glue. Use newspapers and tape to form a leg mushroom.

Then the longest process begins creation: coating everything with the finished mass mushroom. After the first layer you need to let it dry, then apply a layer of mass again papier mache, adjusting the shape of the stem and cap, achieving the desired shape. After the last layer and drying, cover the product with newspaper, napkins or toilet paper, dipping it in PVA glue diluted with water (we do this to level the surface of the product, you can do this in several layers, letting each one dry. Then we prime the product, we usually do it with simple white gouache.

The next stage of work is the most interesting, in our opinion, - coloring the product. It all depends on your desire and imagination. We painted gouache mushroom: the top of the cap is brown, the bottom of the cap is yellowish, the leg is black and gray specks on white.

The last stage is varnishing. After drying the mushroom is ready. Now lives in kindergarten, waiting to go out to the matinee.

Making papier-mâché from egg trays: step-by-step instructions

Egg trays are an ideal material for papier-mâché mixture The papier-mâché technique is in great demand not only as a way to create beautiful crafts, interior items, but also as one of the types of processing of outdated newspaper publications and egg cartons. This skill is now very widespread, used in educational institutions, including kindergartens. The created products are durable, smooth and resistant to weather conditions, so they can be placed in rooms, left outside, as an element of decor in the courtyard of a private house or garden.

How to make papier-mâché from egg cartons

The technique involves the use of two techniques - pasting a certain base with pieces of newspaper or sculpting from a special mass. In this case, egg trays are often used. By collecting them, you can make a large enough sculpture for a winter or summer garden. And all you need are egg trays, water, glue.

Such commonly available components will help you make stylish elements decor

PVA is the most common option. Its advantages include ease of use and the ability to form a waterproof film on the surface of the craft. This allows you not to use varnish to cover the surface in the future and put the products outside without fear that they may become deformed.

Craftsmen often use wallpaper glue.

But for papier-mâché it should be diluted a little with water. Crafts made using such an adhesive composition will not be “afraid” of mold and mildew.

If it is not possible to purchase glue in a store, you can weld a well-known and affordable paste at home.

Using cheap components, especially egg trays, which are almost always thrown away, you can make any little things and decorate your living room, nursery, or kitchen with them. Often, with the help of this technique, craftsmen create beautiful sets for decorating the kitchen, desk lamp as fairy-tale heroes, or Egyptian cats for living room decor.

Papier-mâché technique will help improve your interior

A feature of the technique and the main key to success is the accuracy of the sculpting. One of the important factors is to let each piece of the craft dry thoroughly. In this case, it will not fall apart or change over time.

Papier-mâché master class: flowers

You can make beautiful flowers using glue and egg trays.

For this you will need:

  • 5 egg trays;
  • Water;
  • Scissors;
  • PVA glue;
  • White acrylic or gouache;
  • Thermal gun;
  • Thick wire (will serve as a stem for the flower);
  • Paints, brushes.
  • Colorless nail coating.

Painstaking work will delight you with flowers in your vase

Depending on how many flowers you plan to make, you will need a certain number of pieces of wire. There can be 3, 5, 7, 9, 12 - as many as you like. By the way, for flowers you can make a beautiful vase using the papier-mâché technique.

The adhesive composition is first prepared: the egg trays are soaked in warm water, after swelling, the water is drained and PVA or paste is added. The composition should have the consistency of not liquid, but not thick sour cream.

First of all, you need to stick the composition onto the wire. Moreover, if you plan to make a rose, you must immediately mold a stem with thorns. Leave until completely dry.

Flowers and leaves are made using the sculpting technique. They can be of different sizes, curved shapes or have smooth contours. To understand how to make them, it’s enough to remember how crafts are made from plasticine. The technique is identical.

Careful execution and adherence to instructions lead to amazing results.

All parts of the flowers are covered with white. It is better to give preference to gouache or acrylic coatings. Any paint can then be easily applied to them. After drying, the parts are painted in the appropriate colors: green for the stem, red, orange, yellow for the flowers, depending on what type of flowers is chosen.

The buds are attached to the stems with hot glue. Finally, the surfaces are torn with a colorless nail base. You can place butterflies and ladybugs on flowers.

Papier-mâché for the garden

Hedgehog. A hedgehog will look beautiful and original in a garden with flowers, and you don’t need expensive components to make it. A papier-mâché hedgehog for the garden is a wonderful decorative element. You can mold a whole family of them. The main thing is to show maximum imagination. The hedgehog is based on an ordinary light bulb, because its structure resembles a hedgehog. But, it is possible to make an animal by sculpting it from a mass of papier-mâché (egg trays, water, glue).

If the method of using the base is chosen, the light bulb is pre-lubricated with oil so that it is not difficult to remove later. Things will go faster if you have two light bulbs at hand. The composition is applied to half the base, and you immediately need to form the animal’s face and spines. After drying, the halves of the future craft are removed and glued together with “Moment”. The legs are made from adhesive.

Papier-mâché will help decorate and transform your garden

The craft is covered with acrylic and painted in the appropriate color. Eyes and nose are drawn with a marker.

Gnome. Thanks to the papier-mâché technique, craftsmen create the most interesting compositions. And if there is artistic talent, then there is the opportunity to create large sculptures for the garden, for example a gnome. Of course, it will take a lot more time to make, because street gnomes are quite voluminous sculptures. And here it is important that each part dries well for the strength and durability of the structure.

Will be needed:

  1. 5-liter empty plastic container (torso);
  2. Balloon or ball (head);
  3. 30-40 egg trays;
  4. Water;
  5. PVA glue or paste (about 1.5 l);
  6. Paints and brushes;
  7. White enamel;
  8. Colorless coating varnish.

Egg trays and your imagination will be a good tool for improving your decor.

The plastic container and the ball are covered with a mass of papier-mâché. After drying, the bases are removed, and the cut halves of the body and head are glued together. A mass of papier-mâché is connected to each other. The face and hands are formed from the adhesive composition. After a while - the remaining parts - headdress, fingers, legs. After drying - cheeks, nose, eyes, beard. There is nothing complicated about this, the most important thing is that the material must dry well, so there will be a lot of it and if this rule is violated, the sculpture will “float”. You can make a gnome for the garden in different poses - he can sit, stand or look out, as your imagination dictates.

After creating a rough sculpture and drying it, cover it with white enamel, decorate it with paints, and apply varnish on top.

Paste for papier-mâché from egg trays

The recipe for making the mass is quite simple. To obtain high-quality material with your own hands, it is advisable to maintain a ratio of 13-14 egg cells and 14 liters of water. It is better to crush the egg cells before placing them in warm water. The papier-mâché mass should remain in this state for at least 10 hours. Ideally – 17-18. After time, the composition is rubbed by hand until completely crushed. The water is drained through a fine sieve or cheesecloth. The paper is again placed in the container and glue is added in such an amount that a homogeneous mass is obtained, but not liquid. Experts advise mixing the mixture with a mixer.

You can make almost anything using the papier-mâché technique - from Christmas decorations to a lighting fixture that will not be at all different from sophisticated and expensive.

Let's create a wonderful fairy tale in our yard and place funny fairy-tale characters on our plot or in the garden, these are boletus mushrooms. I think that many still remember the good old Russian fairy tales, where mushrooms also have a part in them. These cheerful, funny fairy-tale characters can also be placed on the playground; children will be very happy to see them in their fairy-tale world) Crafts for the garden can be made from various materials and they all turn out beautiful and original in their own way. But today we will look at a master class on making a cute papier-mâché mushroom, the author of this master class is Natalya Chusovitina. Also, if you are interested, you can look at others on the site interesting crafts for the garden, which are made from available and simple materials. And today we will look at two interesting master class on making mushrooms from plastic bottles and papier-mâché.

* Plastic bottles
* Knife.
* Scissors.
* Newspaper.
* Scotch.
* Basin.
* Cloth.
* Self-tapping screws.
* Dye.
* Varnish.

Method for making a mushroom from papier-mâché:
First, you and I will form the stem of the mushroom, take three plastic bottles and put them together, secure them with tape. We cut off the neck of the fourth bottle and put it on the three bottles that we just secured with tape. Look as shown in the photo, this is how it should work out for you.

Now we take newspapers and begin to increase the volume to the shape of the leg, using newspapers and tape.

Well, it’s starting to look like the foot of a fungus. We cover it with newspapers, then cover it with a mass of papier-mâché and sculpt everything we have in mind on the form (nose, eyes, cheeks, eyebrows, etc.).

Now we will make a hat for our mushroom, also using the papier-mâché technique. Natalya took two basins and used them to create a hat for our mushroom. The photo shows how to place the basins to make the hat more convex and beautiful.

Let's try on our hat, I think it turned out handsome!!!

Turning it over mushroom and at the base of the stem we screw screws, we do this so that the mushroom stem then sits firmly.

Now we will cover everything up. Fill it with a mixture of alabaster + cement mixture + sawdust and mix everything with water. We give the desired shape and then dry our fungus.

We also fill the base of the mushroom cap with this mixture.

Next, our finished fungus needs to be dried well; we remove it until it dries completely for about a couple of days. It all depends on the size of the fungus you have, if it’s small it will dry quickly, but if it’s large it will take longer. Then, when the mushroom dries well, paint it and varnish it.

Ours is ready papier-mâché fungus. All that remains is to find the right use for it in the garden.

We looked at one master class on making a mushroom, I think it would be nice to watch another master class. After all, creating crafts with your own hands for your garden plot is interesting and exciting.
How many things can you create with your own? with my own hands from scrap materials. These can be various crafts for the garden, and you don’t need to spend a lot of money on them. And most importantly, they will be original and unique in their own way. Well, let’s get started and look at another interesting tutorial on making a mushroom from a plastic bottle and papier-mâché. The author of this master class is Olga Koronnova.

To make a mushroom we will need:
* Plastic bottle.
* Plastic lid (can be used for mayonnaise).
* Scissors.
* Scotch.
* Newspapers.
* Basin.
* Egg trays.
* PVA glue.
* Gypsum putty.
* Non-woven glue.
* Acrylic paints.
* Food processor.
* Facade paint is white-matte.
* Yacht varnish.

Method for making mushroom:
In the plastic cap we make a hole in the middle for a plastic bottle. Now let's start making our mushroom. Take a plastic bottle and put a cap on it.

Now we take the newspaper and use it to create volume for our mushroom and secure everything with tape.

Next, cut the newspaper into strips. Pour water into a small container and add a little PVA glue or non-woven glue to it. Mix well and drop the strips into it. We glue the finished strips onto our fungus in several layers

To make papier-mâché we will need:

* Basin.
* Egg trays.
* PVA glue.
* Gypsum putty.
* Non-woven glue.
* Food processor.

Now let's make papier-mâché to give our hero more naturalness. We take the egg trays and soak them in water for several hours, it is better to soak them overnight.

Then squeeze it out a little, if there is excess water it needs to be removed. Next, we need a food processor, grind this mass from the egg trays in it. Add gypsum putty, non-woven adhesive, PVA glue to the finished mass, mix everything well.

We should have an elastic mass (papier-mâché) for making a mushroom.

We coat our workpiece with the resulting mass.

We sculpt our character’s eyes, nose, hands, etc.

We give time for everything to dry well and apply white façade paint. Then we paint our hero with acrylic paints or any other paints. Let the paint dry and apply several layers of varnish.

Look how funny the boletus fungus turned out from a plastic bottle and papier-mâché. I think that it will take its rightful place in your garden or playground.

From such a seemingly inconspicuous looking waste material, like egg trays, you can make very beautiful objects. Once you make one craft, you will stop throwing egg trays in the trash. The first thing you can try to do with your children is tulips. By cutting the tray into cells, you will get an almost finished tulip; all that remains is to slightly correct its shape, paint it and make a stem if necessary.

For painting it is better to use acrylic-based paints. Objects are decorated with flowers without stems home interior, cards, invitations, etc.

Roses from their trays

You can also make roses. How to make a rose craft from a tray with your own hands? The answer is very simple. To do this you need to prepare:

  • egg cartons;
  • scissors;
  • green corrugated paper;
  • paints and brush;
  • glue or glue gun.

Step 1. Divide the tray into cells (cones) using scissors. Make four cuts on each piece. The result is a blank of four petals. For one flower you need four of them.

Step 2. Open the cone and process the edges of the petals: give them a rounded shape, cutting off sharp corners. Do this with all the blanks.

Step 3. Make cuts on each part towards the center, this will simplify the process of gluing the flower. Using a wooden stick or the handle of a brush, you can curl the edges of each workpiece.

Step 4. Paint the blanks in any color you like. To add naturalness, the centers of the petals can be painted with a lighter tone. Allow the workpiece to dry.

Step 5. Gently bend the tips of two opposite petals in half and glue them together as if the bud is closed. Glue another pair of petals to this base.

Step 6. Do the same with the second and third workpiece. And we cut the fourth into separate petals and glue them to the resulting bud. The master class on making roses from trays is completed.

With the resulting roses you can decorate a ready-made photo frame or create your own. In the center of the cardboard base rectangular shape you need to glue the photo, leaving a few centimeters around the edges. Empty edges are filled with flowers. You can make a wreath for the door in the same way.
