Work process

Step 1: cut out the felt base

Take a piece of felt 5x5 cm in size. Carefully cut a circle out of it.

Step 2: make petals for the lower tier

For the lower tier, we need pieces of satin fabric of a warm beige shade measuring 6x6 cm in the amount of 9 pieces.

So, take one of the pieces and fold it in half diagonally. Then fold it in half again, also diagonally.

Take the folded fabric at the two opposite bottom corners and fold them together, corners up. We hold the craft with our left hand. With the right hand, we tuck the lower protruding fabric and push it between the lower folded corners.

We should get such a petal. We grab the petal with tweezers. Cut off excess fabric and protruding threads with scissors.

We hold the cut edge over the candle and immediately grab it with our fingers or tweezers so that all the melted parts of the petal stick to each other.

Cut off the bottom sloppy edge with scissors and also melt it over the candle. Slap the melted edges with your fingers.

Working in such a scheme, we make 9 neat identical petals.

Step 3: glue the petals onto the felt base

We take one of the petals and a previously prepared felt base. Apply hot glue or Dragon glue to the lower front part of the petal and apply it to the base.

Then carefully glue all the other petals onto the felt, applying glue to the bottom and side of the petals. We should have such a basis.

Step 4: make large petals for the upper tier

For the manufacture of large petals of the upper tier, we need pieces of satin fabric of a burgundy shade measuring 5x5 cm, in the amount of 8 pieces.

We take one of the leaves and fold it in half diagonally. Then we turn the left edge down along the center line, and we also turn the right edge down along the center line.

Take the petal with your fingers and fold its left and right parts down. We should have such a simple round petal.

With tweezers we grab the petal by its front part. Cut off excess fabric and loose threads with scissors. We melt this part over the candle and immediately press it with tweezers.

Then we cut off the excess fabric at the bottom of the petal and melt it over the fire. With tweezers, grab the melted edges and squeeze them.

Working in this scheme, we make 8 neat round petals.

Step 5: make small round petals

To make small petals, we take pieces of satin fabric or beige ribbon with dimensions of 2.5x2.5 cm.

Small petals are made in the same way as the previous burgundy petals: take a square and fold it in half diagonally. We apply the side corners to the middle. Fold the side parts of the petal down and form a round petal. We take the petal with tweezers. Cut off the excess fabric from the front and bottom with scissors, and melt the candles over the fire. Use tweezers to slap the melted edges.

In total, you need 16 round small petals of a beige shade for the craft.

Step 6: making the top tier

Cut out a circle with a diameter of 3 cm from satin fabric of burgundy color.

We glue 8 burgundy petals onto this circle, forming a pretty flower.

Take one of the small beige petals with tweezers. Then we take Dragon or Crystal glue (hot glue will not work here). Place a dot of glue on the leading edge of the small beige petal. Gently, holding the petal with tweezers, insert the small petal into the right fold of the large burgundy petal.

Take the next small petal. We put a drop of glue on its front part and push it into the left fold of the burgundy petal.

Working according to this scheme, we push 16 small beige petals into the folds of a burgundy flower, 2 small petals in one large one.

Step 7: collect the flower

Apply Dragon glue or hot glue to the bottom of the upper tier. Gently glue the upper part onto the lower tier.

Glue the center of a suitable color inside the flower. You can take a ready-made middle, or you can make it yourself. I made the center from large white beads and a golden decorative element.
