The Academy of Labor and Social Relations (ATiSO) was founded in 1919 (called the Instructor School of the All-Russian Central Council of Trade Unions). Now it is a university that has received international and federal recognition. Provides specialized socio-economic education. It has 17 branches in cities of Russia and the CIS. History and structure of the university

The Academy of Labor and Social Relations is one of the few universities in the capital whose educational period is approaching a century. ATiSO will celebrate its first centennial anniversary in five years, in 2019. The educational institution provides training to students in the most popular specialties in the field of social and economic sciences. In addition to the main building in Moscow, branches of the academy are open in 17 more cities in Russia and the CIS countries.

ATiCO has a complex, multi-stage structure. Thus, the educational institution provides training for bachelors and masters, there is the possibility of obtaining a second higher or pre-university education, defending a doctorate and candidate's thesis. The academy implements additional training programs, the most popular of which is the world-famous MBA (Master of Business Administration) course.

ATiSO deals not only with educational activities, the university is known far beyond the country’s borders for its active social position. Thus, the Academy staff:

  • take part in legislative activities;
  • participate in the Expert Council of the State Duma on educational issues;
  • working on international cooperation programs.

Almost 80% of teachers are full-time employees of the university, most of them have scientific titles or bear the honorary title of Candidate of Sciences or Professors. People with real, modern work experience also take part in the educational process. Lectures and practical classes at ATiSO are often conducted by politicians, bankers, and heads of various structural divisions of large companies.

Student life ATiSO

The Academy of Labor and Social Relations has created all the conditions for an active student life. Students are provided with a dormitory, gym, cafeteria. University students can also become members of the student scientific society. The main objectives of this association include:

  • development of science;
  • acquaintance with the internal life and history of the university;
  • assistance in the creation of scientific works;
  • organizing local scientific events.

Can realize themselves at the Academy creative personalities. For gifted students there is a Center for educational work. Club members can try their hand at dance group, vocal performances. The most talented young people can take part in numerous concerts and performances. Fans of active recreation can join the paintball club. Every year ATiSO hosts an internal sports competition. In addition, athletes take an active part in competitions held as part of the Moscow Student Games.

Additional education at ATiSO

On the basis of ATiSO there is a college, the students of which can receive secondary vocational education in the areas of economics and management. In addition to lecture lessons, practical training is provided for college students.

The School-University program has been successfully implemented at the Academy of Labor and Social Relations. ATiSO teachers train high school students in Moscow schools studying in classes with a focus on economics or the humanities. The university also offers preparatory courses for applicants. For persons taking part in training in these areas, special conditions upon enrollment in the Academy.

Graduates of the Academy of Labor and Social Relations can continue their educational process in graduate school at the university. Admission to graduate school is on a competitive basis, training is carried out both full-time and part-time. Applicants can choose a specialization from 11 areas, including economics, sociology of management, and law. Training is provided on a paid basis.

Academy faculties

The Academy has 4 main faculties, students are trained in 59 specialties, the total number of students at the Academy reaches almost 6 thousand people. The Faculty of Law is the most popular. Students in this area undergo internships in the Arbitration Court of the Moscow Region, the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Central Election Commission and other government agencies. The first stage of education involves obtaining a bachelor's degree in the following areas: jurisprudence and political science. Studying in a master's program involves choosing from 7 areas, including civil, international, budgetary, criminal law and other law.

The basic faculty of ATiSO specializes in economics, finance and insurance. It consists of 5 departments that provide complete, high-quality and accessible education in economic and related fields.

The Academy's socio-economic faculty was opened in 1993. Currently, high-quality specialists are trained here in the areas of management, tourism, public relations, journalism, sociology, etc.

Studying at the main departments takes place full-time and evening, with a separate faculty for correspondence education. Today the number of its students reaches 3 thousand people. In addition to the classical form, students can acquire new knowledge through distance learning.

My memories are the warmest, the knowledge acquired at ATiSO provided me with a good present, decent earnings and a position. I graduated from university in 2013, I don’t think there have been any significant changes. I recommend it for admission. Like all universities, the academy has problems: there is no parking for students, there are no discos, and there is no KVN team either. Although I had no complaints about the education, the teachers are professionals in their field. I’m thinking of submitting documents to the master’s program, especially since there are many budget places...
