DIY felt hare. Keychain Cowardly Bunny made of felt - master class with a pattern Bunny made of felt

Gray bunny, felt bunny!

Sew a toy for a child

What could be more fun and simpler than a hand-sewn felt hare? And if you do it together with your child - even more so! After all, the time of miracles is approaching - the New Year, and you need to prepare well for it by sewing all sorts of things for this holiday! Is your child able to hold a needle in his hands without dropping it or getting pricked? Do not know? It's time to check it out! Your fear is understandable: a sharp object. But a child can take a needle from the box without you. So it’s better to let him do it!

There will be several points in the work that require some understanding.

Material and pattern

For the craft material, let's take 1-1.5 mm thick felt made of 100% viscose or 100% polyester. This is a material that is grateful for your hands and for work: soft and pliable (after all, it contains all the softness of down and animal hair), but dense and durable. Having no face or back and not crumbling (which means you don’t need to tuck the edges), cut it, glue it and, in general, make of it what you want! And all the colors of his “rainbow” are at our service! Just clean and wash it carefully afterwards, that’s all.

Task: do-it-yourself felt bunny (pattern)

The first thing we have to do is, having found a suitable drawing - an outline, draw it with our own hands or copy it onto a sheet of felt of the color we like. Before this, choosing the animal that is most desirable in appearance and character. This is important, because if in the photo your bunny is sad, or offended, or afraid of something, then he will be the same in the product. Better choose a hare that is cheerful and cheerful! Let your child follow his example!

A soft toy bunny in the form of a pattern - the outline can be like this:

or you can draw or sketch any other diagram - a sketch.

Don't worry, you don't need much precision here! If you suddenly make a mistake in your work, you can always correct it. At worst, start over! The main thing is that the work brings joy and pleasant excitement to the chest. Like in childhood, when we did something for the first time.

Part - base and parts - finishing

The pattern - hare contains the following parts - blanks:

  • torso with head (2 parts):
  • ear pads (2 parts);
  • muzzle (1 piece);
  • spout (1 piece);
  • eyes (2 parts);
  • ponytail (1 piece);
  • breast (1 piece)

Look at the picture. Our felt bunny is a pattern, these are the two main parts onto which everything else will be sewn. This is the soft base of the toy.

The body of a hare with a head and protruding ears at the top, rounded hind legs protruding to the sides at the bottom of the detail.

Two identical parts - the body and head - will be sewn together at the edges, so it is better to cut them together along the contour, folding a piece of felt in half. This makes it easier to get two absolutely identical parts than cutting out each one separately.

The remaining parts of the future toy are: the inner parts of the ears (the paired part at the top of the picture), between them there is a blank for the nose. A little lower is the future muzzle (the part where the mustache should be; the place where the nose piece will be sewn is marked with dotted lines), this part is single. The next one too, this is the chest of a toy bunny, its place on the product is on the side that will become the front, below the bunny’s head, approximately in the middle of the body.

The last detail is the steam room, these are the eyes of the future toy, but for now - blanks for it.

Finally, based on the size and shape of the detail - the eyes, we cut out another detail with our own hands - the bunny's tail.

Since our hare will not be one color, but exactly the same as the real one, we cut out the blank for the nose from black felt, and all the other small details of the future product from white felt.

Carefully examine the outline - diagram and mentally arrange the parts in the places where they should be.

Let's get started: copy and cut

Where to begin? Enlarge the outline diagram to the size you need and copy it on a printer onto a sheet of not very thick paper. Such a density that the lines drawn with a pencil on paper (with a felt cloth then placed under it) are slightly dented.

Now place the carbon paper on the felt of your chosen base color (gray, brown or any other) with the ink side down and the matte side up. Outline the details with a pencil.

When sewing around the edge of the two main parts, decide in advance what your bunny will be like: flat or voluminous (convex). If it is voluminous, you will need soft material to fill the “pocket” formed after stitching (not completely) the textile edges of the two main parts. After filling the toy with the “stuffing”, the sheathing of the edges can be completed. The material for “stuffing” the toy can be cotton wool, batting, foam rubber, padding polyester (material used to insulate jackets) or other soft textile material that does not decompose when water gets inside the product.

After making the hare’s body, we choose where the front surface of the toy will be, and in the places designated for them we sew the pink insides of the ears, a muzzle with a nose already sewn on, eyes with imitations of the iris and glare embroidered or glued to them (you can sew buttons instead) , and on the body we sew a white part - the breast. Turning the almost finished product face down, we sew on a tail cut out of white felt. All that remains is to mark the line of the mouth with a hare smile (we sew on two arms from a round cord).

You can do it differently: first sew all the small parts onto the two main parts, using the applique technique, and then sew them together. Which technique you choose depends on how confident you are with a needle and thread. Write in the comments what you think about the textile bunnies you make yourself.

Other patterns, other bunnies!

Using the same scheme, you can do other pleasant work with the general theme “textile toys - do-it-yourself hares with patterns”; the only difference will be the material from which the dolls will be sewn (this will be textiles) and the patterns for making them.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated in this work, if only there were patterns! And if they don’t exist, you can come up with your own. Textile bunnies are very pleasant to the touch, and if you make them with your own hands, they are also very memorable.

Both you and your baby were a little tired, but how much joy both you and he received in the process of the sacrament of creation, and yet you did everything with your own hands! This was worth spending a little time and effort on!

I have already spoken many times about my love for such needlework material as felt and how much I love to sew with it. Therefore, when I was faced with the question of what to make a keychain for a phone from, the answer was obvious. But I didn’t decide right away what it should look like.

However, everything was decided very quickly. That day we had planned a trip to our grandmother and I realized that it would be a bunny. The felt hare is gray, with long protruding ears and a little cowardly. But how to sew it like this? You will find the answer below.

How to sew a hare from felt with your own hands?

This will have its own characteristics, since we will not be making a toy, but a functional product - a keychain for a phone or for keys. Therefore, we will consider some points in more detail. But before that, a few words about what you need to prepare for work and where to get the pattern.

Felt hare pattern and list of materials for work

Let's start with the second, namely the list of materials. Our felt hare is supposed to look a little scared, so think in advance what his face will be like. To do this, you can look at sketches of various emotions on the Internet. Or buy special eyes for toys.

In addition to the eyes you will also need:

  1. felt;
  2. scissors;
  3. thread and needle;
  4. filler for toys;
  5. glue Moment Crystal.

In addition to gray felt, you will also need pink for the ears, heels and tummy. As for the density, for this keychain I chose a material with a thickness of 1 mm. As a filler, you can use either padding polyester or holofiber.

Basic manufacturing process

One, two, three, four, five - The bunny went out for a walk! Remember this poem from childhood? In our case, of course, it won’t be possible to do everything “one, two, three times,” but I will still try to explain it in such a way that making the keychain will not take you too much time.

Attention

Please note that in the attached file you will not find the heel pads and nose pads.

I simply forgot about them when I was preparing the pattern for the hare. But they are very easy to cut yourself. 6 small circles for the hind legs (three for each) and one larger one for the nose.

After all the parts are cut out, we begin to sew them together sequentially. Let's start with the heels.

IN in this case, unlike our previous pet, when sewing we use a seam “over the edge” with double-fold thread.

This type of connection gives additional decorative design to the finished product- in this case, it also plays the role of edging.

In the same way we sew the legs together. After this, we proceed to making the loop. In this case, this is a very tedious task, but you will like the result. From several layers of thread we need to weave a braid approx. 4-5 cm and secure on both sides with knots.

Fold it in half and form a loop, apply it to the part and glue it with a piece of gauze.

You can make the length of the loop at your discretion - I found a length of half a centimeter sufficient.

We connect the tummy with the torso, sewing both parts together in a circle, leaving an unsewn area at the top for stuffing. Stuff it with stuffing, sew it up and break the thread.

This is how we quietly approached the final stage of the process - the final assembly of the main parts and the design of the face.

Final assembly of parts and decoration

And now the most interesting stage of the work begins, because from now on, step by step, we will observe the real results of our more and more new actions.

We'll start by gluing the legs to the body at the base of the neck. And then we connect both parts of the head with the ears, sewing them together in a circle. Before reaching the end, we fill the head with filler and sew up the remaining area.

Great, right? You like? A little more and you will have a new cute keychain for your phone in the shape of a funny eared hare.

Now we take the heels in our hands and, having chosen the position we like, glue them. I glued it so that the upper (more precisely, front) legs remained movable.

Glue the pink pads on the heels and toes, as well as the inner pink parts of the ears. From threads using primitive round template we make a pompom - the future tail.

Attach the tail. Turn it over and glue on the eyes, nose and mouth. In order to make the mouth, I coated a pink thread folded in half with Chinese super glue, gave it the required shape, and let it dry. Then I cut off the excess and glued it to the muzzle using Moment glue.

The felt hare is ready. All that remains is to thread the ring and cord into the loop and attach it to the phone.

Share the material with your friends on social networks, add it to your pages or bookmarks, subscribe to my newsletter with new master classes, templates, patterns, announcements about competitions and other equally interesting handicraft projects and always be positive and creatively purposeful!

I wish you creative success and a great mood!

Good day, friends!
I would like to dedicate today’s article to felt toys. Such toys became popular not so long ago, but have already become a favorite of many mothers and children. And this is not surprising because such crafts have a lot of advantages.
For example, felt is natural material which is made mainly from sheep's wool. It is very convenient and easy to work with, it does not crumble and does not need to be processed.
Felt products are soft, bright and varied, and most importantly safe and suitable for any age without restrictions.

Every normal parent cares about the health and safety of their child and approaches the choice of toys responsibly.
So I prepared detailed master a class on creating toys from felt, as well as templates with patterns for various toys.

Such toys can be created by adults themselves or by working together with children. This is a very exciting form of creativity.
Therefore, choose the template you like, watch the detailed master class and start creating.

DIY felt toy step by step master class.

Penguin pattern template

For work we will need:
Felt in different colors
Needle and thread (threads can be used to match felt or monofilament)
Scissors
To decorate the toy, use satin or grosgrain ribbon, beads, beads, buttons, here it is optional, you can decorate it however you like and with anything you like.
Sintepon
Template with pattern
Pencil
Sheet of white paper

Looks like that's all, then let's get started!

We redraw the pattern onto a sheet of paper. You can print out the pattern or attach a sheet of white paper to the computer screen and lightly trace it with a pencil. The template with the pattern can be enlarged to the desired size.
In my case, I changed the template a little, removing the penguin’s cheeks. You can also modify the ready-made template at your discretion, although for beginning needlewomen it is better to start using a ready-made template with a pattern to try how it turns out.

Next you need to separately draw and cut out each part on paper.
For example, a full penguin, then the chest, cheeks, nose, paws. In general, everything that needs to be sewn on separately.
Then we apply the pattern to the felt and pin it together, carefully cutting it out.

A whole penguin requires two parts.
We apply the pattern of the middle to one part, pin it together and trace the outline with soap or chalk.

We cut out the middle, but not clearly along the contour, but leaving an allowance

Cut out the center from white felt.

Now we apply the white center to the blue one to the part where we cut out. Sew the center to each other along the edge of the cut.

This is how it should work out.

This is from the reverse side.

We mark a place for the eyes and embroider them with black thread.
As well as the beak, we sew two small triangles together on both sides and stuff them with padding polyester

We cut off the excess padding so that it does not stick out.
Sew the beak into a circle.

Sew on the cheeks next.

This is such a cute face)

And this is the other side.

Now we put the two parts of the penguin base together and sew the entire penguin except the bottom in a circular pattern.

Through the lower unstitched hole we stuff the penguin with padding poly, stuff it tightly so that there are no voids, but not too tightly so that it doesn’t turn out to be a bun, everything is good in moderation!

Now we sew it up to the end.

Cut out 4 paws and sew them together.

We stuff it with padding polyester and sew it to the penguin

And the final touches are decorating the penguin.
I cut out a flower from red felt and sew it onto the penguin, as well as a scarf. I cut the ribbon, tie it and sew it on.

back side

What a cute little penguin he turned out to be.
Isn’t it wonderful for a child to play with such toys!?!

I hope my master class will be useful for you; using its principle you can create any similar toy.
Below you can find many templates using which you can sew different toys and for different purposes, for example, for electric vehicles or a felt book, finger games or educational aids for children.

Choose the template you like and create with pleasure.

3 Templates with a pattern of a hare or rabbit made of felt

5 templates with a felt dog pattern

2 Templates with a felt lion pattern

2 Templates with a felt deer pattern

All the kids just love it Stuffed Toys, now you can easily find them in any children's goods store of a wide variety of types, shapes and sizes.

But the most common types of animals are bear cubs and hares; they are most loved by children.

You can also make an excellent bunny toy from felt, which is what we will try to do now. Making a felt bunny with your own hands is as easy as shelling pears, in this master class you will learn what correct pattern V step by step photo instructions.

You will need a light, plain felt, it can be gray, white or even yellow, in our case we will get white felt. To decorate the ears, you can use felt with a print or just a different color and a small piece of pink felt for the nose.

So, first we draw a sketch of the future toy.

In the photo, the size of the bunny’s body without ears is about 23 cm, with ears +5 cm. We cut out the parts of the toy.

Transfer the details of the body onto felt.

We cut them out and take the front part of the toy’s body. Let's start making the face.

We prepare the part of the spout - a triangle with rounded corners, no more than 2-3 cm in size.

Sew to the front part of the body.

Then, using a pen or tailor’s marker, we outline the boundaries for embroidering the lines of the hare’s smile.

Using black thread we embroider along the drawn lines.

Now the eyebrows.

When the work on our bunny's face is finished, we move on to sewing the ears. Transfer the details to felt.

And cut them out, there should be 3 parts in total.

When folded, the ear should look like this.

First, we sew decor to both ears - a small piece of felt with a print, in our case it is checkered felt.

Then we sew the two parts of the ear along the contour with a seam over the edge, leaving a small space free at the bottom.

Now we stuff part of the toy and sew it up to the end.

We do the same with the second ear of our bunny.

While we are putting the ears aside, let’s start connecting the main part – the body. We begin to sew the body of the hare.

As you sew, don’t forget to sew on one ear first.

And then the second one.

When everything is almost sewn together, we begin to stuff it with padding polyester.

Gradually sewing the toy to the end and stuffing it entirely.

The final part of the work remains - the front legs. Just like with the ears, we transfer the blanks to felt.

And we cut them out.

Then we begin to sew along the contour of one foot, leaving room for stuffing at the end.

Then we stuff the foot and sew it up completely.

The same algorithm of actions applies to the second paw.

Now we begin to sew the legs to the toy itself. They can be sewn on each separately or both of them with one thread at once, in which case the bunny’s legs will move. The needle must be passed through the entire toy, first catching one paw and then the second. About 5-6 stitches for each foot will be enough.

To avoid visible stitches and make the toy look more presentable, use decorative buttons, for example, in the shape of a heart.
