Festive balloons made of paper. How to make a paper ball with your own hands? What is such a decoration for?

Needlework helps develop thinking and fine motor skills hands, and creative thinking. After all New Year very soon. Make decorations for your Christmas tree or your home in general. For example, do-it-yourself corrugated paper pom-poms. So bright and lush and colorful. They will definitely diversify any gray day. They are often used for decoration in different rooms.

Required materials

Corrugated paper is easy to get out. Buy rolls from flower shops or search in the stationery department, they sell different types paper. It costs a little, but how many different crafts you can make from it! In addition to paper, you will need scissors, a regular small ruler, and a marking pencil for making. You also need to take a ball of thread or several colored ribbons.

Don't worry if you don't know how to make pom poms yet. On the network there is always a lot of photos of finished products, step-by-step shots and a master class available to everyone. Previously, in order to learn something from needlework, you had to sign up for special courses.

Now, with the opening of the Internet, everything has become much easier. People look at the videos to learn languages, play instruments, dance and even fight. Of course, a lot depends on the quality of the videos and the degree of student's interest, but here everything is much simpler. Christmas balls from the available materials.

Cooking process

The paper has a usual size - 50 cm wide, the length is 2.5 m. Take a roll and first measure it with a ruler all over to determine the place of the middle. Mark it with a pencil line.

Then we cut the unrolled roll in half, following the line. It turned out two identical shorter rolls.

Unfold each of the rolls neatly and cut into 25 * 50cm rectangles from both. It will turn out to be up to 5 pieces each. Then fold them in a neat stack, aligning all sides with corners. It is more convenient to apply a light weight, because the squares themselves cannot lie flat.

Unfolding the stack with the short side, fold all the sheets neatly in an accordion manner.

Make sure that the accordion has the same edges, so the corrugated paper balls will turn out more beautiful.

Hold the accordion and measure it to select the middle and draw a pencil line there. Then take a thread (or a ribbon made from prepared materials) and tie the accordion tightly along the line, leaving one end of the ribbon long.

Now it's time to define the tips of the future pompom. As you can see from finished photo, you need two semicircular lines from the edge.

It is difficult to determine the desired angle or length of the line with a ruler, so estimate with an eye, just see that the lines are the same on both sides. So paper pompons and do it yourself step by step will come out beautiful. Cut one at a time. First one corner.

Then the second one. It turned out to be a petal.

With the second end of the accordion, you need to do the same, performing the process in stages.

Corrugated paper thin enough, so unfold carefully, first one layer, then the next, lift everything up like that, imagining your pompom as it will turn out. At the end, you should get a fluffy half of the ball.

Turn your "fan" over to the other side and fluff it up, just trying not to wrinkle what has already been done. The paper ones will turn out to be large, fluffy.

Such splendor is provided to him by the many faces of squares cut in a semicircle. Correct its edges so that the junction of the two sides is finally smoothed out. Such large pom-poms can be hung as a separate element of decor, somewhere near the window, or placed under a Christmas tree, on a shelf. To make the product smaller, measure the squares in smaller sizes.

There is also an option with multi-colored balls. The Christmas tree pom-pom should be two times smaller than this, so that it looks harmonious on the branch, next to the rest of the toys. However, such a ball will decorate any Christmas tree. Bulky, fluffy and soft. And so that it comes out multi-colored, cut out squares from two or three colors of the corrugation initially.

Fold them one at a time, then admire the result. You can experiment by understanding how it should be done in general. Step by step photos and explanations turn any activity into an accessible and understandable, especially needlework.

True, small balls are more difficult to make large ones. Keep track of the number of squares, measure their size so as not to reduce the splendor finished product.

Where to post

Despite their size, such balls are quite light and do not pose a danger, even if they accidentally fall on the head of one of the guests or household members. Therefore, it is easy to hang them somewhere from the ceiling or on a Christmas tree. It is more difficult to make such pompons from plain or thick paper, the balls will not turn out so lush, because corrugated paper has volume, it is initially terry, has bends, keeps its shape and it is easy to bend it and fix the edges of the ball. Yes, flowers are wrapped in such sheets, so the corrugation can be found in any floral.

Make lush ball garlands and hang them at home, work, or in the classroom. This is such a lump of brightness and positive emotions, it is pleasant to look at it, you can even play it, toss it to each other or just hold it in your hand.

By the way, when choosing colors, look at the Rooster's preferences - he loves red and orange, yellow and gold, green. It is curious that on Christmas these are the colors that are considered the main ones. Bring the spirit of the holiday to yourself, let the bright colors once again remind you of the approaching New Year! In addition to the ball, you can make various crafts from such paper. Cut roses or small balls to make a wreath! It will turn out to be lush, light

In order to decorate your home for the holiday fashionably and at no extra cost, resourceful people make corrugated paper pompons with their own hands. Embody the idea in original craft scissors, paper and a drop of imagination will help. Multi-colored weightless pom-poms are useful for creating garlands, and also serve as props for a photo shoot. How to make paper pom-poms with your own hands. Materials required for work

Since our products are made of paper, we will first of all decide what kind of paper we will use to create the pom-poms. Please note that the following types of material are most convenient and "obedient" in work:

  • corrugated paper;
  • crepe paper;
  • tissue paper;
  • cigarette paper;
  • napkins.

How to make corrugated paper pom poms

All paper pom-poms are made according to the same principle. Let's take a closer look at this method. We need crepe or crepe paper. Today, crumpled paper is actively used to create handicrafts, although earlier its purpose was of a slightly different nature - lining for hats was laid out with corrugated paper. Crepe is a type of corrugated material with a smaller degree of compression. Crepe pom-poms are soft and airy, while corrugated products hold their shape better. Earlier, children's crafts and elements for carnival costumes, and today they are mainly used to create stylish decorative items: flowers, garlands, interior toys.

Making paper pompons with your own hands is very simple, because in addition to the crepe or corrugated paper itself, you only need scissors and threads. If you are going to hang the finished paper balls to decorate a wall or ceiling, replace the threads with ribbon or long string. Remember that for work, choose strong, evenly colored and bright crumpled paper that does not leave colored streaks on your hands.

Lush paper pom-poms: detailed instructions

So, if all the materials at hand are ready, let's proceed to the creative part of the process. To create an original and catchy decor element, it is best to use multi-colored sheets of paper, first placing them on top of one another. Although some masters claim that it is plain pom-poms that look much more spectacular, so choose colors based on your personal convictions.

First, decide on the size of the finished product. The more luxuriant you see the pompom, the larger sheets cut the corrugated paper. At the same time, take note that the width paper sheet should approximately correspond to the diameter of the finished ball. Next, paper pompons are assembled step by step like this:

  • fold the sheets of paper collected in a pile with a transverse "accordion";
  • Firmly tie the folded paper several times strictly in the middle with threads or with the dressing material that you have prepared (with a wire or tape, for example);
  • now the most creative part of the process is decorating the edges of the roll. Use scissors to shape them as you wish: round the edges, make them wavy or jagged, cut with a fringe;
  • let's move on to the most interesting thing - let's "dissolve" our paper bud. First, we stacked the crumpled paper in layers. Now carefully peel off one layer at a time, wrinkle a little and pull to the core tied with thread. Admire your creation!

Take your time and make several of these pom-poms at once. One paper ball is fine, of course, but it won't produce the same amazing effect as a few copies. Ready-made paper pom-poms can be easily assembled into a garland, hung from the ceiling one by one, or decorate an entire wall with them.

How to make paper pom-poms in silence

To create lush festive pom-poms, as often as corrugated paper, they use tissue paper. Unlike classic crumpled paper, silence is a very delicate material. This is a thin, weightless and surprisingly airy paper, which, according to the masters, is a pleasure to deal with. The material is chosen when they want to decorate a room with very lush and large paper pom-poms.

So to make beautiful volumetric sphere, we will prepare the following materials:

  • tissue paper (about 15 - 19 sheets for a large product, about 7 - 8 sheets for a small pompom);
  • scissors;
  • strong thread or thin wire;
  • satin or other fancy ribbon to hang the finished product.

By doing this step by step master class, you will get incredibly beautiful tissue paper pom-poms:

  • fold the sheets of paper into a straight stack. If you plan to get a voluminous pompom, we take more sheets. However, keep in mind that the thicker the stack of paper, the more difficult it is to work with the future product. Twist the paper in half and cut it neatly along the edge;
  • wrap the paper in "steps" of 2 - 3 cm to the end;
  • fold the paper roll in half;
  • tie a paper "fan" with a wire or thread exactly in the middle. In the same place, tie a ribbon with which you can then hang the pompom;
  • decorate the edges of the "fan" - give them a rounded, trapezoidal or pointed shape;
  • To create a pompom, begin to gently separate the paper petals from the edge to the center. Smooth out layer by layer gently;
  • when 5 - 6 layers of your pom-pom are flattened, turn it over and separate as many layers on the other side;
  • when there are very few unfolded layers left, turn the product sideways and open the last petals;
  • this is what a fluffy and cute decoration you get when all 16 layers are spread out.

When hanging pom-poms, do not limit yourself to one color and the same length of ribbon.

How to make a paper pompom in the form of a hemisphere: detailed instructions

If you wish, you can make an unusual pompom that can be used to decorate any surface. For better stability, the paper product is created not round, but in the form of a hemisphere.

For work, you can choose paper napkins, but we will opt for paper muffin cups. The latter have become the object of close attention of craftswomen due to their corrugated edges, which gives the decorative element additional volume. The work plan is as follows:

  1. Fold the muffin pan into several layers so that you have a sharp angle of about 45 degrees. Do the same with all shapes. This will make the petals for the decorative flower pompom.
  2. Now bring all the petals together: alternately put the edge of one petal on the edge of another, making sure that the sharp corners of the petals converge at one point, and they themselves do not completely overlap each other.
  3. Use a hairpin or single thread with a needle to fasten the petals together.
  4. To make the fluffy hemisphere very voluminous, fill the finished circle with a few more rows of petals. Remember that all elements must be strung on a thread (hairpin).

Interior decoration with paper pom-poms

When your workplace will hide the foam of finished paper pom-poms, the time will come to decide what to do with the unusual creation further. For example, paper balloons in silence are a worthy replacement for ordinary balloons, because they can be fixed in many places without worrying that the balloon will burst from careless movement.

Paper pom-poms are attached to walls, ceiling beams, chandeliers, chairs. Medium-sized pom-poms decorate gift gifts bow-type, and mini-pom-poms will become perfect complement to big lush balls. We offer you a few more interesting options decorating a room with paper pompons:

  1. As decorative elements, white pom-poms of different sizes will be appropriate for a wedding. Such products are best made from tracing paper. They will look smart both outdoors and indoors.
  2. When relatives and friends are preparing to meet a new family member from the hospital, colorful pom-poms are also indispensable. Classic Balloons burst, which often spoil the overall picture of the holiday, so it is best to "dress" the room in pink, lilac, blue, lemon and mint pom-poms.
  3. With the help of paper pom-poms, you can decorate a holiday in honor of a child's birthday. Homemade products will become even more cute if you decorate them with cartoon characters' faces.
  4. Themed parties are often decorated with paper balls: blue, blue, white and turquoise pompons will be appropriate for a nautical holiday, against the background of brown and green paper balls you can celebrate Earth Day, and red and black pompons are suitable for a gangster "gathering".
  5. Memorable photos will be unusually positive and bright if paper pom-poms are included in the frame. So that everyone can take an original selfie against the background of paper decor, they make up a special photo zone with pom-poms.

What to do with handmade paper balls, everyone can think of for themselves. We offer you a selection of photos of paper pompons for inspiration:

When the party is over, don't rush to throw away the paper pom-poms. These products can be easily folded into an accordion again and hidden until the next celebration.

We make paper pompons. Video

Paper balloons are great in any festive design and decor. It is not difficult to make them, and their originality is much higher than that of purchased mass products. To make them, you only need paper, glue (preferably a glue stick), scissors, a breadboard knife, threads, a needle, and cardboard. Sequins, paints, foam sponge, ribbons are useful for decoration.

Paper honeycomb

Honeycombs are made from a bundle of identical sheets glued together with thin horizontal glue strips. You can form the product right away (for this you will need to cut out semi-circular blanks) or first make it from rectangular sheets, and only then cut off the entire glued pack with a breadboard knife:

  1. Draw a circle on thick cardboard. If there is no compass, you can circle the plate, saucer.
  2. Cut out a circle, cut it into two equal halves.
  3. Prepare sheets of tissue, tissue paper, or crepe paper. It is best to take a cigarette. If desired, you can use ready-made round sheets - coffee filters, paper baking tins.
  4. Draw the sheets according to the cardboard template (circle it), cut out the same semicircles. For decoration with a diameter of 25-30 cm, you will need about 50 pieces, for a small one and sheets you can take less.

To decorate the honeycomb balls, you need to carefully run along the cuts with glue, then sprinkle them with glitter or blot the edges with a sponge with semi-dry paint. It is more convenient to process each sheet separately, before they are glued together.

Sizing templates

The simplest template is a lined sheet, but it's better to spend a little time and make a cardboard cut-out stencil. It will give smoother glue lines and neat cells:

  1. On a sheet of A4 cardboard, it is necessary to draw vertical margins - 3 cm each on the right and left, and 7 horizontal lines at a distance of 4 cm from each other, the first one is 4 cm from the upper edge. Number the lines or mark them with different marker colors. This lined sheet can be used to apply glue from a tube, where the layers are stacked directly on it, and the glue is applied in stripes - alternately along odd and even lines.
  2. To make a stencil with slots, you need to draw out the cardboard according to the described scheme, and then cut out 7 horizontal slots-slots 0.5 cm wide. The distance between the slots will turn out to be 3.5 cm. Number the slots from top to bottom. Then circle all even slots with a black marker.

Put the finished stencil up with the side where the slots are marked with a marker, stick it with tape to the table so that it can "open" and "close", like a book cover.

Sizing using the slit method

Since the stencil is glued to the table on one side, it can flip over and form a stack of sheets underneath. Aligning the sheets ensures that the glue lines are always neat and that the honeycomb does not move.

  1. "Open" the template, turning it over to the left, put the first paper semicircle next to it, and carefully align. Using a pencil, mark the places on the cardboard where the upper and lower edges of the semicircle are aligned with it - this will allow you to lay the blanks in an even stack.
  2. "Close" the template by covering the workpiece with it. Now only narrow stripes paper.
  3. Run along the even (delineated with a marker) slots with glue stick. Smooth glue lines will remain on the sheet.
  4. "Open" the template, put the second semicircle, align it to fully align with the first, press firmly, gluing.
  5. "Close", run with a glue stick along the odd (not circled with a marker) slots.

Repeat operations for all layers. You will get a stack of sheets, in which the gluing lines will be located strictly one above the other, on even and odd sheets with a shift. This, when opened, will provide a neat beautiful "honeycomb".

Assembly

When the whole stack is glued, you need to hold it a little under a press, if necessary, cut off the edge with a knife or notches - to level it or decorate it.

  1. Glue cardboard semicircles to the outer layers of the stack. Sometimes they are not made solid, but in the form of an arc - they cut out the middle of a semicircle, leaving only arcs.
  2. Pierce the cardboard in the upper part, fasten it with a thread, tying a free loop - it should allow the ball to open without falling apart.
  3. Repeat on the other side.

You can leave a part of this thread for hanging, but it is better to glue a special loop of tape in the upper part to the cardboard part, and in the middle of the cardboard arcs - ribbons or threads to fix the shape. Before making the paper ball voluminous, you must carefully straighten the honeycomb with a plastic stick or the handle of a brush. The product does not unfold immediately, and if you pull too hard, fresh adhesive seams may come loose or the paper may tear. There may be occasional drops of glue sticking the blanks in the wrong place. It is best to try to move the honeycomb apart for the first time even before the final assembly, that is, before stitching with threads, and correct the errors.

When the honeycomb is opened and straightened, the cardboard "cover" of the ball can be glued, fastened with a stapler, paper clips, or tied with a pre-glued ribbon, secured with a thread with a needle. Strength will depend on this, the ability to fold the craft at the end of the holiday, putting it away for storage.

Ribbed balls

Accordion balls are made according to a similar principle, but they are glued not with horizontal lines, but along cuts, the blanks are not in the shape of a semicircle, but arcs 3-4 cm wide. inside arcs, impose a second, she glue the outer edge with glue. Apply a third, etc. Each workpiece will be glued to the adjacent, either top or bottom, edges. This creates a corrugated surface. After the whole stack is glued, you get an arc-shaped stack. Cardboard arcs - "covers", duplicated with a wire with a loop, are glued onto it from above and below, from which they are then hung. The final assembly and decoration operations are similar.

Elegant, light, elegant paper balls can create festive mood by its mere presence. They easily gather in clusters, do not require powerful fasteners, and take up little space during storage. If necessary, they can be easily repainted with a spray paint or covered with glitter, glue brushes and cords, assemble in.

Today I have collected a few simple ones, but enough effective ways decoration of the hall (assembly, musical) for a children's party.

The downside of this idea is that the creation paper decorations takes a lot of time, therefore, when it comes to decorating a school hall, I advise you to conduct several master classes with children of middle and senior school age... This is the only way to get many of the same holiday decorations.

Large volumetric flowers and pompons

You can buy pom poms in different colors and sizes from online stores. They will be delivered folded, you just have to fluff them up.

If you have time and free working hands, you can do it yourself.

I will not repeat myself, I will just send it to my article in which there are three examples sufficiently large paper products. Just be careful, some flowers are made of corrugated paper, and hanging balls and floor flowers- out of thin silence.

We follow the picture, there is a description:

How to decorate the hall with such flowers?

  • can be suspended from the ceiling
  • attach to the edge of the stage (as a rule, there is always something to cover up there :-))
  • hang vertically on tapes around the edges of the stage
  • put along the edges of the "carpet" path along which the graduates solemnly walk

Corrugated paper flowers

Collective creativity is indispensable here. But! If you make a sketch 2-3 months before the event, it is quite possible to have time for everything. Again I am sending to my article with 10 master classes on making such flowers and bouquets that will decorate not only the stage, but also the festive tables (follow the picture):

By the way, ideas can be taken from newlyweds, whose tables are decorated with live plants. What a difference, actually! These are charming examples flower arrangements, which will look very festive even in paper version!

Here I will also mention the "trees of happiness". They are also made from corrugated paper or colored table napkins. It turns out smartly, there are a lot of master classes on the Internet, look!

How to decorate a hall with voluminous garlands

The bottom line is this: you need to make three-dimensional figures out of paper, which are then strung at some distance from each other on threads, fishing lines or thin ribbons. Such garlands hanging from the ceiling will greatly decorate a music or assembly hall.

Here is my example - pigeons in the clouds: I print out the diagram paper dove(by the way,). For one garland, we need two such birds. Cut and fold along the folds, looking at the drawing in the right corner.

We will alternate pigeons with such paper clouds. I do not give a scheme - we cut out the same parts randomly from 2 sheets of A4 format, bend and fasten in the center with a stapler. In the large figure, I cut out the small detail inside. This will also be a small cloud.

Everything! It remains to assemble our voluminous garland on a string! I did this with a needle, fixing the details just with a “step back” seam so that they would not roll down.

How do you like my pigeons in the clouds? By the way, these garlands spin very beautifully from any movement of air. In the diagram, the pigeon has legs, but we do not need it to stand on the table, I just made a round at the bottom.

Cardboard letters

The writing on the backdrop of the stage is a weak point almost always and everywhere. The letters are poorly colored, the letter spacing is not observed, everything, as a rule, looks unprofessional.

If possible, it is better not to do this at all :-). But there are times when inscriptions or numbers are required. For example, the anniversary of the school.

I suggest decorating large cardboard letters with small flowers from colored napkins. The work is painstaking, but the effect is quite interesting.

The napkins are the most common, small. One flower needs 2 napkins. Put them folded one on top of the other, draw a circle with a saucer, cut out. In the center we fasten it with a stapler. What to do next can be seen from the figure. We fix the resulting flowers with glue on a cardboard blank with numbers or letters.

Wall decorations

The picture on the left shows charming flowers with voluminous petals. Cut out the hearts, fold them in half, glue one side. We made them quite large - one petal was from half of the album sheet. A noticeable decoration, don't hesitate! We fastened them to strips of plain blue wallpaper, decorated the backdrop of the stage.

On the right picture there is a "musical" wreath made of photocopies of music pages. It is easy to twist the buns, the result is amazing!

Ready-made volumetric paper decorations

Please appreciate my great work - articles with pictures that I have prepared for your convenience. I found the best design examples, gave advice on installation and assembly :-). All these elements are LARGE enough, great for the hall, the price is quite convenient.

I wish you a pleasant viewing (click on the red words):

Step-by-step guide: showing how to make a do-it-yourself corrugated paper pom-pom

We only took corrugated paper because it was easier to find. The pompom is beautiful, rustling and strong. Nevertheless, the pom-poms made of tissue and crepe paper turn out to be lighter and more airy. Maximalists and perfectionists will have to look for delicate varieties.

Training

To create fluffy and beautiful pompom from paper we need:

  • corrugated, crepe or tissue paper
  • scissors
  • thread, ribbon or lace

The maximum diameter of your pompom is limited by the width of the paper. However, if you decide to make a huge paper ball, the full width of a roll of corrugated paper, be prepared for the fact that one pompom will take almost 2 rolls!

Making one pom-pom takes 10 to 20 minutes. To decorate a room, 2-3 may be enough big balls... But a large hall is time-consuming.

So let's get started.

6 easy steps and you will make a paper pompom with your own hands.

Step 1

Cut 8 identical square sheets from the selected paper. Once again: the side of the square will determine the diameter of the future pompom! And we put them in a pile.

No, we did not measure with a ruler. Corrugated paper is too unruly for this. A square "by eye" is our method.

Step 2

With a confident hand, we take the whole pile and begin to fold them with an accordion in steps of 1.5-3 cm.If the pompom is large, then the step can be increased to 5-8 cm.The principle of the accordion is super simple: one bend on one side, the second on the other etc. to end. This is what the accordion drawing looks like if you spread the paper:

Step 3

It turned out to be a narrow strip-stack-accordion, the width of the selected step. Determine the middle and carefully pull the thread without damaging the integrity of the paper.

Step 4

Gently round off with scissors, or vice versa, sharpen the ends of the resulting strip. We rounded:

Step 5

We spread the halves in different directions and begin to fluff up our butterfly.
