Crocheted New Year's cones. Crochet cone pattern: diagram and description. “Bumps” from an odd number of loops

If you don’t know how to decorate your beautiful home Christmas tree in an original way for the New Year and Christmas, then we invite everyone who is partial to crocheting to take a closer look at the option of crocheting pine cones. Knitted from wool yarn Brown 5-10 cones (depending on the size of the Christmas tree), you can decorate the Christmas tree in a non-trivial way and thereby surprise your family and friends.

By the way, it is also wise to take note of this method of decorating a Christmas tree because, having mastered this simple principle of knitting spirals (and this is how knitting a cone is done), you can make a small knitted Christmas tree with your own hands. You can put it on your desk in the office or give it to a good friend as a nice New Year's gift. The Christmas tree is knitted similarly to knitted cones, the only difference being that to knit it you will need green yarn. At the end of knitting, simply turn the resulting piece over and instead of a pine cone, you will see a knitted Christmas tree.

We will crochet cones using the following tools and materials: Brown yarn. Wool yarn with a thread of medium thickness will look better.

A hook with a diameter of 3 mm is suitable for this yarn.

Knitted cones, although knitted according to the same principle as a knitted Christmas tree, should have a slightly smaller diameter. Therefore, instead of the initial 22 air loops, we perform a chain of 15 air loops. Next, we knit according to this pattern for knitting cones:

We make an initial chain consisting of 15 air loops.
*After this, we retreat 3 loops from the hook and knit 3 air loops into this third loop, close them with a connecting stitch into the first air loop*.

We repeat this operation in the same 3rd loop from the hook 3 more times (in total, such an operation in one loop should be performed 4 times) and proceed to knitting the next air loop of the base in the same way.

Thanks to this method, the initial chain in the process of tying will begin to twist itself into a spiral, which, if you turn the finished part over, swapping the top and bottom, will become quite similar to pine cone made with your own hands.

And do not forget, when finishing knitting the cone, to leave a long enough thread from which you will make a loop with which you will hang the knitted cone on the Christmas tree.

Crocheting pine cones is an easy way to decorate your New Year's beauty in a non-trivial way.

Greetings, dear knitting lovers!

You won't believe it, but knitting “bumps” with knitting needles I learned it quite recently when I needed to knit a new blouse for my granddaughter Zlatochka. Before this, use this method of decoration knitted products Somehow I didn’t have to. Well, “if you learn it yourself, teach someone else!”, so in this post article we will master the science: how to knit “bumps” with knitting needles.

"Bumps" or bumps various shapes and sizes are obtained by knitting several from one loop. They look especially striking on the front or back surface and can be combined with any patterns. You can also use colored “bumps” in children’s clothing, arranging them as you please.

Knit “bumps” with knitting needles there are several ways, each of which we will definitely consider. So join us! 😉

How to knit “bumps” with knitting needles

1. “Bumps” from an odd number of loops

Perhaps this is the most common way of knitting “bumps”, when a knit loop is first knitted from one loop, then a yarn over is made, a knit loop is knitted again from the same loop, and so one knit stitch is alternated with a yarn over until an odd number of loops are obtained. (usually from 3 to 7). The knit stitch is always knitted last, after which the stitch from which the odd number of stitches was knitted is dropped from the left needle.

From one loop we get three

On a blouse for my little granddaughter, I knitted “bumps” from 3 loops, however, instead of a yarn over, I knitted them behind the back wall - you can knit this way too “bumps” with knitting needles .

What to do with loops knitted further from one loop is usually explained in the description of a specific pattern, since there are many such options. I will show in detail only one option; I think it’s not difficult to figure out the rest, following the description exactly. So…

“Bump” of three loops on the purl stitch

Having knitted the stitch of the purl stitch that follows the “bump” tighter, we will see the resulting “bump”, more reminiscent of a pea! That’s why I called the pattern consisting of such “bumps” “Peas”.

Knitting pattern No. 113 “Peas”

To practice knitting such “peas”, we put 19 loops on the knitting needles and knit:

  • in the 1st, 5th, 9th rows - all loops are purl;
  • in the 2nd and all even rows - all loops are knit;
  • in the 3rd row - *purl 5, “bump” of three loops (as described above)*, purl 5;
  • in the 7th row - 2 purl, “bump”, * 5 purl, “bump”*, 2 purl;

Knitting pattern “Peas”

“Bumps” of 5 loops you can knit the same way as from 3, but there is another way:

Knitting pattern No. 114 “Pine nuts”

We cast on 17 loops on the knitting needles (the number should be divided by 4, 2 more edge loops and 3 loops for the symmetry of the pattern - 12+2+3). Next we knit:

Knitting pattern “Pine nuts”

  • in the 1st row - *3 purl, “bump” (from one loop we do NOT knit 1 knit, 1 yarn over, 1 knit, 1 yarn over, 1 knit)*, 3 purl;
  • in the 2nd row - *knit 3, knit 5 “bump” loops together, purl*, knit 3;
  • in the 3rd, 6th, 7th rows - all loops are knit;
  • in the 4th, 5th, 8th rows - all loops are purl;

2. “Bumps” from an even number of loops

Basically, "bumps" knitted from an even number of stitches knitting needles like its “brothers” from odd, only instead of a crossed knit stitch, a purl stitch is knitted.

After the front loop we knit the purl one

After knitting, purling, knitting, purling from one loop in turn... this loop is either dropped from the left knitting needle, or the knitting is unrolled to continue knitting the “bump” according to the example “bumps” of 3 loops, described above. This is exactly how the pattern is knitted, to which I gave the name “Mulberry” (these “cones” are very similar to these berries).

“Bump” of six loops on the front stitch

  1. From one loop we knit 3 times alternately 1 knit and 1 purl (6 loops), turn the knitting;
  2. knit 6 stitches, turn;
  3. slip 1 of 6 loops onto the right needle, knit the next 5 stitches with a knit stitch and pull through the first slipped stitch.

Knitting pattern No. 115 “Mulberry”

For knitting pattern “bumps” of 6 loops on the stockinette stitch(pattern “Mulberry”) we put 19 loops on the knitting needles and knit:

Knitting pattern “Mulberry”

  • in the 1st, 5th, 9th rows - We knit all the loops with facial stitches;
  • in the 2nd and all even rows - We knit all the loops purlwise;
  • in the 3rd row - *knit 5, “bump” of 6 loops*, knit 5;
  • in the 7th row - 2 knit, *"bump", 5 knit*, "bump", 2 knit;
  • in the 11th row - repeat the pattern from the 1st row.

Now I propose to link you a completely different option “bumps” of 4 loops However, these “cones” are not so convex and are more shaped like hazelnuts, hence the name. 😉

Knitting pattern No. 116 “Hazelnut”

We put 16 loops on the knitting needles (the number should be divided by 5, 4 more loops for the symmetry of the pattern and 2 edge loops: 10+4+2), we begin to knit:

Knitting pattern “Hazelnut”

  • in the 1st row - * purl 4, from one loop we knit 4 (twice 1 knit, 1 purl) *, 4 purl;
  • in the 2nd and 4th rows -*knit 4, purl 4*, knit 4;
  • in the 3rd row - * purl 4, knit 4 *, purl 4;
  • in the 5th row - * purl 4, purl 4 stitches together *, purl 4;
  • in the 6th and 8th rows - all loops are knit;
  • in the 7th row - purl all the loops;
  • in the 9th row - repeat the pattern from the 1st row.

Break the thread and you're done!

Are you looking for a pattern that can be used to decorate many crochet items, giving them volume and a beautiful raised texture? Tired of boring patterns on knitted fabric? Then the most the right decision will decorate hats, scarves, sweaters, booties, snoods, cardigans or skirts with a cone pattern.

How to crochet cones

This voluminous knitting element, depending on the chosen pattern, can be either dense or openwork. The finished item can consist entirely of cones, or it can be an addition to a smoother canvas or a calmer pattern. The variety of ways to crochet cones allows you to select them for a variety of products, and at the same time always knit special things. Let's look at several options for how to crochet a cone pattern.

Diagram and description

The cone element itself consists of unfinished stitches with one or more double crochets. It is made from one base loop and crocheted with one loop into a common top. The relief of the bump will depend on the number of columns in the element. A pattern of such cones will look different depending on the size of one element, as well as the frequency of its repetition on the canvas.

How are cones crocheted, and how do the knitting patterns of these elements differ? Let's look at several ways to knit cones.

  • Crochet bump pattern: diagram and description for beginners

For the simplest example, a cone of three double crochets with a common top and a common injection point is suitable. We will knit according to the following pattern:

Progress:

We knit a chain of air loops, make a yarn over, insert a hook into a loop of the chain 6 from the hook (photo 1), grab the thread and pull out a new loop (photo 2). Then we grab the thread and knit 2 loops, we have an unknitted double crochet (photo 3), then we make a double crochet (photo 4).

We insert the hook into the same base loop, grab the thread and pull out a new loop (photo 1), then grab the thread and knit 2 loops, we have a second unknitted double crochet (photo 2). Yarn over again (photo 3), insert the hook into the same base loop and pull out a new loop (photo 4).

We grab the thread and knit 2 loops, we have a third unknitted double crochet (photo 1). Next we need to knit these 3 unknitted double crochets together; to do this we grab the thread (photo 2). We knit all 4 loops on the hook in one step (photo 3). As a result, you will get bumps like this (photo 4).

  • Pattern "cones" or "nuts"

Beautiful volumetric pattern will be good for blankets and baby blankets. It knits from lush column, and the pattern repeat is 4 loops + 2. You need to knit the pattern according to the following pattern:

Lush stitch: *make a yarn over, insert the hook into the arch under the air stitch, make a yarn over, pull the thread through the loop. Repeat * 5 more times, then yarn over the hook and pull it through all the loops on the hook.

Row 1: skip 2 chain stitches. and knit 1 tbsp. b/n in the next loop, *1 chain stitch, 1 tbsp. b/n in the next 3 chain stitches, repeat from *, finish the row - 1 chain stitch, skip 1 chain stitch, 2 tbsp. b/n in last 2 chain stitches, turn knitting.

2nd row: 3 chain stitches, * 1 double stitch in the next row. arch made of air st., 2 air st., 1 convex st. b/n in Art. b/n one row below, 2 chain stitches, repeat from *, 1 fluffy st. next air.p., 2 air.p., 1 tbsp. b/n in the 2nd air stitch, turn knitting.

3rd row: 1 chain stitch, *2 st. b/n in the next acre of 2 chains, 1 chain, repeat from *, 2 tbsp. b/n in an arch of 3 chain stitches, turn the knitting.

4th row: 3 chain stitches, * 1 convex st. b/n in lush st. bottom row, 2 chain stitches, 1 fluffy st. into the arch from a chain stitch, 2 chain stitches, repeat from *, finish with 1 convex st. b/n in a lush st., 2 air stitches, 1 tbsp. b/n in last Art. /n previous row, turn knitting.

5th row: knit as 3rd row.

6th row: 3 chain stitches, * 1 fluffy st. in air st., 2 air st., 1 convex st. b/n in lush st. previous row, 2 chain stitches, repeat from *, finish - 1 fluffy stitch, 2 chain stitches, 1 chain stitch. b/n in last Art. b/n previous row, turn knitting.

  • Rare bumps

Another interesting pattern of cones, which can be used as a decorative pattern for flat, simple fabrics. So, when crocheting, you can create entire patterns from such voluminous cones. It should be noted that knitting these cones has its own small peculiarity. You need to knit this decoration of the product according to the following pattern:

The crochet bump is made on an uncrocheted double crochet: we knit a double crochet not all the way, but only halfway, so that there are two loops left on the hook.

We make a yarn over and insert a hook under this very unknitted column. Grab the working thread and pull out the loop - there are 4 loops on the hook.

We repeat this operation ** three more times. *Yoard over, pull out a loop*... As a result, there are 10 loops on the hook.

We grab the working thread and pull it through all ten loops on the hook in one go. No loops to secure. Next we knit the next stitch according to the pattern.

This technique is called a cone crochet around a double crochet.

Now let's try to knit a pattern with cones based on the above diagram.

We knit a chain of 16 VP + 3 VP for lifting.

1 row- 5 dc, cone element:

We knit a double yarn over, insert the hook into a loop of the chain and pull out the working thread - there are three loops on the hook, grab the working thread and pull it through two loops on the hook.
