A snood or a scarf collar is a thing that I have been looking at for a long time. In the conditions of our Siberian winter, only seasoned people can walk without a scarf, and I am not one of them - I am constantly freezing :-). The usual scarves are somehow tired, especially since wearing them over a down jacket or fur coat is somehow not very pretty. And sometimes you want to wrap yourself up so that only one eyes stick out 🙂 Here is snood - just what you need! I decided to knit and went online in search of patterns and patterns.
There were very beautiful snoods with arans and with braids, such as on. The most interesting options I saved snoods with knitting needles and, perhaps, will share them in one of the following publications.

But somehow I wanted to crochet snood more. In my opinion, it will be faster this way, and interest in knitting needles has already faded a little. I found a very beautiful snood with asterisks, but the scheme for it was completely incomprehensible to me. Googling a little, I found a description, but it turned out not at all like in the photo. And then I found detailed video how to knit stars lush columns... You can see it just below. Just in case, I will also explain the principle of creating such a pattern with my photos.

Agree, a very beautiful pattern, and will suit even a child, even an adult. I have already started work, and now I am sharing what I can do. Later I will supplement the article with photographs of the snood in finished form.
Necessary materials:
- acrylic yarn - 1 skein (100 grams),

One skein left - 100 grams First, we knit a row of lush columns, the width of the product will depend on their number. I knitted 10 lush posts. (In the course of work, I confused the front side of the work with the side one, as a result, the width increased by another 2 lush columns 🙂)

To do this, we collect lush columns at the tops of the 11th, 10th and 9th columns (the loops indicated in red in the photo) and close them with one loop. At first it will be difficult and slow, but already in the third row I got my hand filled and it started to work out pretty quickly.

Therefore, it became necessary to knit a new snood for the son. I wanted the pattern to be voluminous, but at the same time strong enough. I searched for a very long time, I even began to despair. I came across either too complex, or vice versa - too primitive options, or thin and with large holes. But still, I came across this wonderful video on YouTube, which tells in great detail how to knit a voluminous snood, and the pattern is very beautiful and durable. How to tie snood: my step-by-step master class with a photo
And here is my master class on knitting a snood, shown in the video above. Still, it's more convenient for me to quickly navigate through the photo than to watch and rewind the video for a long time in order to remember something. To make the snood denser, I knitted in two threads. The threads are exactly the same as for the snood with asterisks. We begin to knit snood not from a regular chain of air loops, but from a chain of half-columns. This chain looks prettier and stretches better. To make it easier to see and understand, I tied a chain of half-columns into one thread especially for the photo on the blog.

We knit a chain of half-columns of the desired length. The length of my chain is 66 cm.Knitted for a 4 year old child to wear over winter jacket with a hood. If you want the snood to be two turns, the chain length should be 2.5 times longer. You can knit a chain, estimate for yourself or a child, and tie the required length.
We close the finished chain into a ring with connecting loops, knit 2 air loops for lifting and then knit, as shown below. (I forgot to photograph the beginning of the row with air lifting loops, so several previous "knobs" are already knitted in the photo, but the knitting of the whole row is identical to the first "knob", so I think everything will be clear).
