And in order to sew something out of old fur (there is a round mink hat, some pieces) you must first update all this, soften the fur, stretch the skin into a flat cloth for cutting. How to do it?

To do this, gently wipe the skin of the skin with a cotton swab dipped in a solution (1 tablespoon of vinegar essence and 50 grams of salt in 1 liter of water). Moisten the flesh with a brush or cotton swab with this solution, then fold the product in half to the flesh and keep under a film (or plastic bag) 3-4 hours.

After that, the skins are dried at room temperature, thoroughly kneaded and stretched in different directions. It is important not to dry the skin and remove it while it is still damp. The skin should be soft and pliable.

It is useful to stretch old stale fur on thin nails. To do this, the flesh is slightly moistened with clean or slightly salted water with a shaving brush and immediately, evenly stretching it in all directions, gently nailed along the edges with long (3-3.5 cm) and thin nails to a flat board with the pile down.

Then, with a flat ruler or knife with the blunt side, we lift the skin on the nails so that the fur does not press down, but hangs freely. This will make the future product fluffy.

When the skin dries up, the details of the pattern of the future product are applied to the flesh, which are pre-cut and outlined on the skin with a pencil. Remember to keep an eye on the direction of the pile when cutting.

Then the details of the cut are cut out with a sharp razor or very conveniently with a clerical knife, adding 0.3 cm to the seams. The fur is sewn from the inside with frequent stitches over the edge or with a buttonhole seam, without grabbing the hair and tucking it in.

And, I must warn you that not every worn fur should somehow be used further. For example, modern consumer goods thin coats, dressed so that the fur is used with maximum benefit. That is, these cheap minks are already initially stretched to the maximum. Therefore, it is unlikely that such fur can be used for years.

My friend had a fur coat so thin and cold, well, just for beauty, it crawled out onto her. So you shouldn't bother with cheap fur, except maybe some thread for a chicken jacket, again for one season for beauty, to throw it away. Because then you can't sew anything out of this fur.
