Today it is no longer possible to imagine the New Year without bright jewelry on the Christmas tree. Available in stores a wide range of ready-made balloons and garlands. But if you want to surprise your guests and decorate a Christmas tree in uniform style- You can make toys yourself.
Christmas tree decorations made of linen or jute twine will fit perfectly into an interior in an ethnic or rustic style. As a base for decoration, you can use wooden or foam balls purchased at a craft store. In addition, using this technique you can decorate old, boring balloons.
If the spruce in your house is quite tall, you can do voluminous jewelry wrapped in twine balloon. After drying, the ball should be pierced with a needle and any remaining rubber should be removed. You will get a hollow ball of twine, which can be decorated to suit any taste.
The basic base can be decorated with various decors, using both accessories from the store and the remains of old beads and bracelets
A combination of mother-of-pearl beads imitating pearls with satin ribbon will add lightness and romance to the Christmas tree. Bows made from double-sided tape will look more voluminous.
Another idea for creating toys is regular burlap. You can use it to wrap glass balls or even burnt out light bulbs. Patterns made from rope look very organic on such balls. 
And a piece of lace on a gray background reminds Frost patterns on the windows. It is best to choose a large one volumetric pattern. But you can also use a piece of an old curtain or napkin.
For delicate and romantic toys, it is better to choose ribbons in pastel shades. They go well with mother of pearl.
Toys in this style go well with natural spruce or pine cones, which can be hung by attaching pieces of twine to them.
You can use different accessories while sticking to the same color scheme.
Or make very simple toys with elegant accessories.
To create toys you will need:
- foam balls or wooden balls
- glue gun or quick-drying glue
- leg-split
- beads, ribbons and lace for decoration
Instructions:
Select the twine of the desired shade. We start by creating a loop by which the toy will be suspended. Then we glue the selected ball with twine. The most convenient way to secure the twine to the base is with hot glue.
To make the ball look neater, it is better to apply glue not along the entire length of the thread, but only in some places.
Rustic style is naturalness itself, homely (even rather rustic) comfort. Rustic can be called a type of country style. But it is more natural, it contains more rough materials, simple shapes. This style is for those who are tired of the city bustle, pomp, and cold and laconic high-tech. Rustic can create unique comfort and a very warm atmosphere in your home.
Rustic is often used for wedding decorations. But don’t forget about other holidays that will go well with this trend. And the first thing that came to my mind was New Year.
So, what is rustic for the New Year? These are homemade pies, wooden figurines, fabric balls, linen tablecloths, natural materials, berries and cones. In rustic there is, as I already said, some roughness of materials. If it is wood, then it is better with unevenness, roughness. If it is fabric, then burlap. Linen lace, twine. Pine cones, pine branches, cinnamon sticks, and homemade Christmas tree decorations are perfect for New Year's decor.
IN New Year's decoration in the rustic style there is no bright plastic or tinsel, everything is very natural. It is better to replace even electric garlands with candles with a warm flame.
The color range ranges from rich brown to light and even white.

What do all the needlewomen do on the eve of the holidays? Of course they create Original gifts friends and family, and they also prepare all sorts of beautiful things to decorate their home!!!
This is what we will do now - we will sew simple to perform and very effective Christmas decorations in the rustic style popular today. It is thanks to the combination of the deliberately rough texture of linen, carelessly splashed with white acrylic paint, and delicate cotton lace, silk tassels, pearl beads, these pendants look very unusual and interesting.
So, we need:
Fabric: unbleached linen, white linen and red cotton with small polka dots;
Floral materials (sugar berries and willow branches);
Jute twine;
Coconut, metal, mother-of-pearl buttons;
Pearl and red wooden beads;
Silk tassels (easy to make yourself from silk or viscose thread);
Knitted flowers red and white, 2 pieces of each color;
Small pieces of cotton lace in white and milky white colors;
A little holofiber or padding polyester for stuffing.
We take the templates of the parts (heart, circle and star) and trace them on the linen fabric with a simple pencil directly along the front side. Don’t worry, the pencil line is practically invisible on the textured surface of the linen; anyway, later we will tint the pendant with acrylic paint.
From white linen and red cotton we cut out the internal parts of the toys, which we will sew onto the main parts from gray linen.
We pin the white and red parts onto the base and carefully align them along the contour. This operation can also be done manually. For example, using floss threads with the seam facing forward, the needle will also look great!
We put together the top layer with appliques and the bottom layer of linen, sew along the contour of the parts, leaving small holes for stuffing with holofiber.
Have you noticed that I don’t cut out the pieces one by one yet, but work with them as a single piece of fabric? This saves a lot of time and protects parts from falling off (and flax is a very free-flowing material!).
Now we cut out the parts, retreating from the line 3-4 mm. For now, we leave a larger allowance along the hole - otherwise, during the stuffing process, this place may spread out.
We fill the toys with holofiber, not very tightly. Help yourself with a sushi stick.
We sew up the remaining section using a sewing machine.
By the way, stitching along the outer contour of the part can also be done manually (an option for those who are not very comfortable with a machine!)
We cut off the remaining “tail” of the allowance.
To prevent the sections of our toys from falling off, we coat them with PVA glue. Let it dry a little.
We prepare loops from jute twine. I twisted the thread in half, but you can use a single rope.
Place a loop on the pendant and sew it on, closing the threads at the base of the loop with a small mother-of-pearl button.
The most interesting moment has come - decor!
I form small decorative elements by sewing together layers of lace, sugar berries, linen bast wound into a ring and a knitted flower. Then I glue the finished element onto the pendant.

Goose collection, or Easter decor in country style
I created this “Goose Collection” especially for the recent Easter. Of course, I created it in advance, back in the winter, and this collection sold out instantly. Then I had to sew several dozen more repetitions.
There doesn’t seem to be anything special in this “Goose Collection” - ordinary kitchen textiles: serving napkins, a tea warmer, an oven mitt, a table runner, several different towels, a bag holder, a country-style bread box and rusk bowl. But I think this collection gained its popularity thanks to the fabric. More precisely, a pattern on fabric. It turned out that the image of Czech geese is very popular among the female part of the population.

And a few more works from my New Year's collection. There were boots, a house and pillows too, now it’s their turn Christmas decorations and interior decoration. I sewed these textile Christmas trees for the New Year. They are also in a rustic style, made of linen, decorated with lace, bows and bells.
I spent a long time fiddling with these Christmas trees. I wanted to make each one original and special. And each one turned out to have its own character: one is playful, a little romantic, in a dress with frills, the other is strict, restrained, even a little conservative, the third is a lover of gold jewelry, the fourth is rustic and modest... At least, that’s how I see them.

Both the house and the pillows are made of gray linen, felt and American cotton. Of course, linen fabric is taken as a basis; what would a rustic style be without unbleached linen!
