Acrylic modeling on short nails. Sculpting on nails: interesting ideas and techniques. How to do a manicure with acrylic modeling

Acrylic sculpting on nails. Master class with step-by-step photos.

Master class "Gifts of Autumn. Ranetka branch"

Purpose: As a teacher and as a practicing master, I can say that this nail design with acrylic sculpting is very popular in the fall. It looks impressive both on extended nails, even of short length, and on natural nails coated with gel polish. When worn, this design is very practical - the molding will hold up perfectly until it is cut off. It won't interfere or scratch either. This design looks best when done only on the ring finger. You can do it either for yourself or for a second person.
Description: The material is intended for students and teachers of the specialty "Manicurist", and with some diligence it can be repeated by middle and older children school age, teachers, especially applied ones, and all creative people.
Target: Make a visual design on a tip (artificial nail model), using the acrylic modeling technique, with autumn theme- a branch of ranetki.
Tasks:
- teach how to work in the acrylic modeling technique, the ability to use such materials as acrylic.
- develop aesthetic taste, Creative skills, cooperation skills (when working in pairs), fine motor skills hands
- cultivate perseverance, the ability to focus your attention on one thing for a long time, the desire to perform complex and beautiful nail designs.

Progress

Acrylic modeling is a real art. This is the creation of various volumetric compositions on the nail using a compound acrylic powder and special liquid (liquid). The process is that a sculpting brush (usually a flat one with a sharp end) is dipped first into liquid, then into a jar of powder. An element of the intended figure of any shape is sculpted from the resulting ball. Complete hardening time is about a minute. Therefore, you need to sculpt quickly; it was difficult to photograph the work process. Acrylic sculpting is a rather painstaking process, especially if you consider that you need to sculpt it on the nail, maintaining accurate proportions, and at the same time you need to create a composition in which the general idea and design will be clearly readable.
For work we will need:
acrylic sculpting brush;
liquid (liquid to activate the process);
a cup with a lid for liquid;
thin brush for artistic painting on nails;
dotting tool (with metal balls of different sizes);
tips (artificial nail design);
buff(bufferblock);
acrylic powder: white, green, red (two shades), yellow (two shades);
acrylic paints: gold, black, white.

We take the tip, remove the glossy layer from it using a buff, leaving no gaps. This is necessary so that the acrylic and paints adhere well (in the photo for comparison, the left tip is already without gloss, and the right one is still shiny).

Pour the liquid into a glass with a lid to make it convenient to use.

We take a tip prepared for work, liquid, a sculpting brush, acrylic powder of red and yellow flower, lighter shades.

First dip the brush in liquid

then dip the moistened brush tip into a jar of red-orange acrylic powder

and then lower the resulting ball on one side into a jar of yellow acrylic powder

Transfer the resulting red-yellow ball from the brush to the tip

It immediately begins to freeze. Using a dots tool and a small ball, we make the “core” of the future apple.

this is how we should do it

We continue to post “Ranetki”, not forgetting to do in each core

Then we start creating the foliage. For this we take white and green acrylic powder.

Dip the brush into liquid, then into white powder

Dip the resulting ball into green powder

We place the future leaf next to the ranetka. We press the ball with the flat of the brush, and with the tip of the brush we pull out the edge from the resulting “cake”. It turns out like this leaf

We continue to create foliage using a similar method.

Next we take acrylic paint black and gold colors.

Mix them until a color close to dirty bronze is obtained.

The final stage. Using a thin brush for artistic nail painting, we perform drawing elements to fill the empty space, give contrast and clarity to the composition. This is the design we came up with.

Let's try to create a similar design on a different background, dark graphite color. To do this, paint the tips with varnish. Let's wait until it dries completely.

Just like in the first option, take acrylic powder of red and yellow color, only in more saturated shades.

Dip the brush first into liquid, then into red powder, then into yellow. Place the resulting ball on the tip. Using dots to make a core

Thus, we lay out six more ranetkas.

We begin to lay out the foliage. To do this, take white and green acrylic powder.

Dip the brush into liquid, then into white powder, then into green. Press down the resulting ball with a brush, using the tip to pull out the sharp part of the sheet.

Lay out the rest of the leaves

We take acrylic paint of a dirty bronze color, which we prepared for the first version of the “ranetki branch” on a white background.

With confident movements we draw a bronze outline, on dark background its paint will serve as a shade, a complement to the color.

Thinly draw white lines

This is the design we got today. Bright, autumnal, extraordinary, eye-catching! Two contrasting backgrounds make them different from each other and give them individuality

Today, acrylic nail sculpting is the most popular and relevant type of design. With the help of such non-trivial art, you can create entire compositions that will look impressive, accurately convey the creative intent of the author and complement the image. After all, every woman wants to look irresistible, especially on significant and festive occasions. Therefore, many representatives of the fair sex choose artistic decoration.

This technique of applying special material to the nail plates cannot be called easy, and not everyone can master it in a short period of time. You need to be patient and be prepared for the fact that you won’t be able to create a masterpiece the first time. Some people master this art in special courses, others get the necessary information from the Internet.

Acrylic sculpting on nails - design features

If you decide to master this technique, it is worth keeping in mind that the conceived image must first be carefully considered, and then begin to implement it. Moreover, sculpting acrylic nails for beginners is more difficult than for those who have already encountered a similar technique. Therefore, experienced craftsmen advise drawing the pattern first on a piece of paper with a regular pen, carefully drawing every dash and line. After all, such a manicure is noticeable immediately, so it must be done very carefully. Details play a big role here: they must be clear and have ideal contours. By the way, even experienced specialists, in order not to redo their work, first create a model of the future composition, because such creativity is a long and painstaking process that has its own difficulties.

Sculpting nails with acrylic, the photo is a clear confirmation of this, is a non-trivial way to design nail plates. All the figures seem to “rise” above the surface of the nail. Acrylic sculpting on nails is a catchy and bright NAIL ART in volumetric visualization, for which special materials are used: powder and liquid monomer (liquid). All work is done using a special brush, which applies the intended design. The whole process really resembles modeling and requires skill, since the “molded” elements freeze within 1-1.5 minutes.

When creating voluminous compositions, first extend your nails. Since its upper edge is mainly overloaded, it must be very strong. Otherwise, the composition may peel off and the natural plate itself may crack.

How to make a manicure with acrylic modeling?

For acrylic nail sculpting step by step you will need:

  1. Liquid (special liquid). It is better to choose a classic self-hardening one (necessarily based on ethyl methacrylate, but in no case methyl methacrylic, as it is bad for health and can cause allergies).
  2. various shades.
  3. Modeling brushes. Buy several brushes; the most convenient is considered to be round, with a sharp end. You should not neglect the small brush, it is also called a brush - “hair”. With its help, small details can be easily drawn (for example, the veins on the petals).
  4. Elements for decoration (rhinestones, beads, etc.).

A flawless manicure can only be achieved using high-quality materials from well-known and trusted companies. For example, high-quality acrylic never turns yellow or crystallizes.

Technique:

  • Acrylic comes in bubbles, so the required amount needs to be poured into a small container for convenience.
  • Decoration can be done both on (plastic plates) and directly on the nail itself. The latter must be prepared; they mainly use extensions, and strong nails(if the design is not too voluminous and heavy), apply a layer of gel varnish.
  • First, the brush is dipped into the liquid, and then into the powder of the required color. After this, the brush must be slightly twisted to form a ball. the right size. Keep in mind, it all depends on how deep you dip the brush - if only the very tip, then the ball will turn out small.
  • After this, the lump needs to be transferred to the plate, directly to the place where the overall composition will be formed. Knead the ball and give it the desired shape. If part of the image requires more time, dip the brush in liquid and continue working.

For a beautiful ornament, perforation plays an important role. Therefore, when working with a brush, you need to press on the formed lump as clearly as possible, “developing” each contour.

  • You need to form balls for each individual element, using different colors.

Form large elements first, then move on to small ones. Otherwise, you will not be able to control the creation of the overall drawing and subsequently it will differ from what was planned.

  • Some craftsmen paint the elements after the figurine is formed, that is, they use powder at the final stage. In this case, you should wait until the acrylic dries and act as carefully as possible, since the powder can soften the acrylic.
  • Depending on the creative concept, the figures can be located along the edge of the nail plate, on the top layer of the plate, or in the middle. But you shouldn’t place the composition near the cuticle, it won’t last long there. If desired, you can add decor: rhinestones or beads.

One of the main conditions for a high-quality manicure is the correct location of the image on the nail plate. The main element of the composition should not be “chaotically scattered” on the plate - this way the idea will lose its direct style and will look ridiculous.

In what cases can acrylic NAIL ART be used?

Sculpting on nails with acrylic, the photo demonstrates this, not for everyday wear. And it has its drawbacks: it is inconvenient for doing work with your hands, constantly clings to clothes, and loses its durability when in contact with water or chemicals. When agreeing to such a manicure, it is important to follow a number of mandatory rules, otherwise all the advantages will easily turn into unpleasant moments. Therefore, the beautiful half of humanity resorts to such a manicure exclusively on special occasions: weddings, anniversaries, social events.

Moreover, each event has its own unique design. Brides choose a delicate and touching design, replete with flowers, butterflies and hearts; business women may be asked to “sculpt” an interesting drawing with a predatory animal or reptile. Also, some women use acrylic modeling with additional decor to make an impression. Such a manicure will always lift your spirits and add self-confidence. When preparing for any event, you should not do acrylic modeling yourself, especially if you do not have enough experience. The result will definitely disappoint you, and it will take a lot of time. It’s better to entrust the work to professionals, and you can hone your skills using the original NAIL ART technique later.

Volumetric design of the nail plate appeared in the nail industry relatively recently.

Original patterns are modeled on natural or extended nails with transparent or colored gel.

The compositions are perfect as the final detail of a festive or wedding look at a special event.

Forms a three-dimensional pattern with a sculptural gel. The material has good ductility, holds the shape given by the master perfectly, does not spread and has no odor.

Creating such a composition is a labor-intensive process and takes a lot of time, but in the end the work looks truly fabulous.

  • 3D gel belongs to the category of solid plastics, allowing you to create three-dimensional decorative elements of the nail plate. The material is easy to work with, and you can use it to get any desired fragment shape. The elements are made with a small brush with elastic bristles. Beginners can create simple compositions, but complex details require experience. Be sure to use finishing gel.
  • The 4D gel is very thick in consistency, reminiscent of chewing gum, it does not dry out until it is placed under a UV lamp, you can sculpt it indefinitely - until you like the result. The colors are bright and saturated, but after the polymerization process is completed it becomes matte. Beginners love it. The material is applied directly to the top coat; it does not require covering with a topcoat.

Let's consider nail design options with sculpting on gel polish

It is necessary to work with sculptural gels with pinpoint precision so that the intended composition turns out flawless. The range of 3D and 4D gels is quite extensive, allowing you to combine colors and textures.

A high-quality mass should not stretch, but separate freely into pieces.

Simulation technology allows the use additional elements to satisfy the limitless imagination of customers. The following will help to complement the design: beads, shells, sparkles, broths.

Sculpting on nails with 4D gel slightly different. The palette consists of a base white and nine colored gels. White is intended to dilute neon shades - making them natural and muted. White gel is less flexible.

The blank ball is perfectly fixed on the nail.

The finished pattern is even more voluminous, bright and can be sculpted indefinitely, without rushing.

VIDEO DESCRIPTION

Applying 3D gel to nails - step-by-step instructions using flowers as an example

Gel sculpting on nails allowed us to achieve more varied designs, and the procedure itself became more enjoyable. Each detail is applied to the nail plate in the form in which it will ultimately be fixed.

Elements of the composition that differ in color are dried separately under a UV lamp, otherwise the shades will mix if they are not hardened enough.

Step by step instructions 3D gel sculpting

To work you will need:

  • A brush with artificial elastic bristles and a pointed tip;
  • Varnish base;
  • Gel polish of the selected tone;
  • Top varnish;
  • Ultraviolet lamp;
  • Dots for collecting the desired amount of 3D gel.

Modeling technology:

  • Apply to the nail plate base coat;
  • Gel polish of the selected tone is applied on top of it;
  • Top is applied on top and the sticky layer is removed.
  • Dots pick up a small drop of gel;
  • Use your fingers to roll it into a ball;
  • The ball is transferred to the nail in the place where the element will be sculpted.
  • The tip of the brush is pressed in the place where the center of the flower will be located, simultaneously forming a petal;
  • The molded petal is dried under a UV lamp for 2 minutes, under an LED lamp for 30 seconds;
  • A second portion of gel is collected, and the second petal is formed in the same way. Subsequent petals are molded according to the same pattern.
  • The resulting petals are slightly shaded with the same gel polish;
  • To complete the decor, the core is decorated with broths or small beads;
  • After drying under the lamp, the places where the gel was applied to add depth to the color must be covered with a topcoat, and then the sticky layer must be carefully removed.

VIDEO INSTRUCTION

When working with 3D gel, you should remember a few simple rules:

  • Each part of a complex composition volume is dried separately under a UV lamp, the thicker the layer, the longer, on average 3-4 minutes;
  • Despite the fact that the material is dense and does not spread, if handled insufficiently carefully individual elements may merge - during work you must carefully ensure that this does not happen;
  • A novice master does not have to buy a large set; he can limit himself to a few basic colors, since they are easily mixed and it is possible to create spectacular images with minimal costs;
  • The plasticity and viscosity of the consistency allows the use of various inclusions: sparkles, rhinestones, pebbles, shells.

Don’t forget to clean the brush with a special solution so that the remaining 3D gel particles on it do not mix with the next color.

Be sure to also protect natural nails a basic adhesion coating, since the gel can damage the nail plate. If the composition is created correctly, then it does not chip or fade, remaining in its original form until removal.

Volumetric nail design is perhaps the most original and complex solution that modern nail artists use to decorate plates. It can be performed on natural or artificial nails, using gel or acrylic material. It is quite difficult for beginning nail designers to master the technique of sculpting nails. However, nothing is impossible, because there are quite detailed step by step instructions, which help to perfect the modeling technique, and attentiveness, accuracy and a subtle sense of style will help to bring it to perfection.

Types of materials

To create three-dimensional patterns, gel and acrylic are used:

  • 3D gels – have a dense, plastic texture, due to which convex elements are formed, intended for decorating the plate. This gel is easy to work with even for novice craftsmen, thanks to the ability to create a fragment of any shape and size, however, building complex patterns requires some experience. Upon completion of creating the ornament, the gel must be covered with a top coat;

Gel design

To create a complex, three-dimensional pattern, 3D gels are used. With their help, you can form perfect volumetric elements that perfectly hold the boundaries and do not spread over the surface of the nail. The good thing about the gel is that it does not fade over time, does not chip, and does not react to negative external influences. In addition, if desired, you can combine gels of different shades and add spectacular coloring pigments, including those that glow in the dark.

When sculpting nails with 3D gel, it is necessary to carefully polymerize each individual element, especially if the composition consists of several parts of different colors. Otherwise, the shades will mix and the design will have to start over.

For novice decorators, it is better to start working with gel by forming the simplest, for example floral, compositions:

  • send to a lamp for polymerization;
  • separate a drop of gel, roll a second ball and place it next to the first petal. Repeat the above action;
  • Using the same pattern, form the third and fourth petals, not forgetting to dry each element in the lamp;
  • shade the petals with gel polish, which was used for the main coating of the plates. Place a bead or sprinkle with glitter in the middle of the resulting flower, outlining the core. Send for polymerization in a lamp;
  • Apply top coat, dry, carefully remove the sticky layer.

The key points of gel nail sculpting can be seen in the video instructions.

It is worth noting that working with such material requires care, scrupulousness and accuracy. We must not forget to dry each element of the overall composition separately, and also ensure that the parts do not merge with each other.

For beginning designers, the best option will be sculpted using special volumetric plastic stencils. To create such a decor, you need:

  • prepare the plates, degrease, apply a base coat, paint them with gel polish, dry under a lamp, treat with a topcoat and remove the sticky layer;
  • roll a small ball from the gel, place it in the selected stencil, press it well into the shape and smooth it out;
  • turn the stencil over, apply it to the nail and press well. Send for polymerization in a lamp along with the form;

  • carefully remove the stencil - the ornament will remain on the plate, and the form will easily come off;
  • If desired, you can add decorative elements to the pattern: glitter, rhinestones or beads, dry under a lamp, cover with a top coat, remove the sticky layer.

Nail decoration elements made using sculpting look great even on short nails. The main thing is to harmoniously select the sizes of individual parts, without making them too large or too small, and also not to choose rich, bright colors. In addition, it is worth understanding that a voluminous design makes the handles somewhat heavier, so it is better to focus on only one nail, correctly designating the space.

Acrylic design

The acrylic system used to create a three-dimensional design consists of two ingredients - powder and monomer, which are mixed in a certain proportion, varying depending on the specifics of the decor. When combined, they form a thick, plastic mass, from which a certain ornament is subsequently formed.

To add color to this design, you can immediately mix colored powder with the monomer, or cover the pattern with the selected shade after completing the main work. Finally, the decor is coated with acrylic fixative.

If the modeling is too complex, a special supporting frame is used for it. However, this type of design, as a rule, does not have a long-term wear life, so it is performed only for special occasions.

Sculpting your nails with acrylic should only be done on artificial acrylic nails. This is explained by the fact that such a design is very heavy and overloads the overgrown part of the nail, even if the created figure is not large in shape. This will cause the natural plate to crack or break.

In addition, for good adhesion of the ornament, the plate must be as smooth and ugly as possible, otherwise it will simply fall off, and this is almost impossible to achieve on natural nails. However, if you really wish, you can use a special glue that reliably attaches the acrylic to the surface of the plate.

The process of creating an acrylic design consists of the following steps:

The process of creating an acrylic ornament is very difficult for beginners due to the fact that the mixture hardens quickly and it is necessary to work as quickly and accurately as possible, with pinpoint precision.

As you can see from the photo, nail sculpting looks very impressive and incredibly beautiful. This best design, which is suitable for special, festive events. It will definitely make women's hands charming, tender and amazingly beautiful.

Volumetric sculpting on nails is a new fashion trend in the nail industry. The use of voluminous manicure designs is great for special occasions, and is especially popular among brides when creating a wedding manicure. This design looks very impressive, festive and unusual. We will tell you in this article how and with what help voluminous patterns on nails are made!

What is volumetric modeling and who is it suitable for?

So, nail sculpting is the creation of three-dimensional patterns using modeling acrylic powder or a special gel composition. With the help of these materials, the volumetric ornament you choose is literally molded as if from plasticine and gives the manicure a unique 3D and even 4D effect. Many girls choose flowers, fruits and even insects (butterflies, bugs, etc.) as patterns. This manicure is suitable for almost everyone, regardless of the shape and length of the nails, and can also be used on both your own and extended nails. Volumetric sculpting on nails is especially popular among brides, as well as among young girls as a summer manicure.

Materials necessary for volumetric modeling, their types, differences, advantages and disadvantages

Today professionals use only two existing types volumetric sculpting in manicure:

  • modeling with modeling acrylic powder;
  • modeling using a special gel composition.

Modeling with acrylic powder

Acrylic modeling is very popular. Powder can be transparent or translucent, in various colors and shades; some manufacturers add glitter to it. Such a wide palette allows you to create beautiful three-dimensional patterns on your nails.

Acrylic extension and sculpting is done by combining two materials: acrylic powder and liquid (monomer - a transparent liquid necessary for hardening of acrylic powder). The connection of these materials is carried out directly at the moment of building up or creating a three-dimensional pattern.

Acrylic modeling comes in 2 types:

– when creating such a design, a finished three-dimensional acrylic element is placed on the nail, then the entire nail along with the design is filled with transparent gel. As a result, the pattern ends up inside the artificial nail. The advantage of aquarium sculpting is that the volumetric elements do not cling to clothing, which significantly increases the wear time of such a manicure. However, the thickness of the nail is very large, which for some may be a disadvantage.

With this type of modeling, acrylic elements are not filled with gel, and therefore the clearest volume of the pattern is visible. A significant disadvantage is the inconvenience of manicure in everyday life, since protruding patterns very often cling to clothes and other household items. Nevertheless, this type of modeling is very popular.

Advantages of sculpting with acrylic powder

  • Modern acrylic contains the substance ethyl methacrylate. This substance does not harm the nail plate, but on the contrary, gives the nails a healthy appearance, making them stronger and more elastic.
  • Acrylic is practically unaffected by temperatures. Acrylic also does not disrupt the shape and natural appearance of the nail. Nail plate Doesn't bend under acrylic.
  • Acrylic is easy to remove from the nail. You just need to dip your nail in a special liquid and it will easily dissolve. Wherein own nail will not be harmed in any way.
  • Using acrylic you can create beautiful manicure designs.

Disadvantages of acrylic sculpting

  • Acrylic should absolutely not be used by people with different kinds fungal diseases, since it creates a greenhouse effect on the nails and the disease will develop even faster from this;
  • It is not recommended to use acrylic for people with gastrointestinal diseases, as well as those suffering diabetes mellitus and having disruptions in the hormonal system;
  • People using medications and girls during menstruation should not use acrylic either.

Modeling using gel

Gel sculpting is a newer phenomenon than acrylic sculpting. Previously, gels were liquid, and with their help it was impossible to create three-dimensional patterns, because they spread. Now they have begun to produce thick gels that are specially designed for creating voluminous decorative designs.

Working with gel is much more more difficult work with acrylic. Each new layer of colored gel requires separate drying under a UV lamp, which makes the process longer and more expensive. This is main feature And distinctive feature sculpting using gel compositions.

There are 2 types of gel:

  1. 3D gel– has a dense and plastic consistency. With its help it is easy to create three-dimensional drawings. Often used in baguette modeling, as a frame for a pattern or picture.
  2. 4D gel– this gel has a very dense consistency, which is similar to hard sculptural plasticine or clay. Before starting work, such “plasticine” for nails is divided into small parts in the form of balls, and then the required pattern is cut out of it with a special metal tool. This gel sticks very strongly to your hands and tools, so when working with it you need to use a cleanser - a means to remove the sticky layer.

Advantages of gel sculpting

  • Gel does not have harmful substances in the composition, therefore it is not contraindicated for use even by women during pregnancy;
  • The material is very elastic, which allows you to “sculpt” all kinds of decorative elements from it without much difficulty;
  • The gel has no unpleasant odor;
  • Does not harm nails at all and does not worsen their condition.

Disadvantages of gel sculpting

Using nail gel is quite difficult, so for the first time it is better to entrust the procedure to a professional, and after gaining a little visual experience, you can try to make simple compositions yourself, at home.

Step-by-step technique for performing a manicure using the power of volumetric acrylic sculpting

To create on nails volumetric pattern using acrylic modeling, you will need the following tools:

  • Acrylic powder in the desired colors;
  • Liquid (monomer);
  • Thin brush and flat brushes for pattern modeling;
  • Napkins;
  • Decorative elements (rhinestones, sparkles);

Acrylic modeling is used on extended nails or on gel polish coating

Step-by-step technique for performing volumetric manicure with the power of gel

To create volumetric sculpting using modeling gel, you will need the following tools:

  • Dots;
  • Gel (3D/4D);
  • Means for removing the sticky layer (cleaner);

Gel sculpting is usually used on extended nails, but it can also be used on nails coated with gel polish/shellac or acrylic.

At the end of the extension or after applying gel/varnish, the sticky layer must be removed from the surface of the coating.

  1. Perform nail extensions or cover them with gel polish. Dry under a UV lamp and remove the sticky layer from the surface;
  2. Using a pusher, take a little gel and use your fingers to form a base for the design;
  3. Place the gel on the surface of the base and use a dot or brush to form the desired pattern; you can smooth out sharp corners with a brush dipped in a cleanser;
  4. Dry the result under a UV lamp;
  5. Repeat the same procedure to create the remaining elements of the three-dimensional pattern;
  6. If desired, add other decorative elements (rhinestones, beads);
  7. At the end of the work, apply a top coat to the design without touching the rhinestones or beads. Dry in a UV lamp.

Interesting design ideas with modeling

3D and 4D nail sculpting, although a new phenomenon, is already actively used by a large number of girls and women.
