If your future craft contains an element such as a cone, then before starting work, prepare the following materials:

  • thick paper or cardboard (1 sheet);
  • paper glue (can be replaced with double-sided tape);
  • scissors;
  • simple pencil.

Progress:

1. Download the template.

2. Print the template from the prepared material, choosing the scale at your discretion, and then carefully cut it out with scissors.

3. The next step is to roll up the cut piece and secure the edges with glue or double-sided tape along the entire seam.

Advice! Make sure the base of the cone is level. To do this, place it on a flat surface and check whether the craft sways.

Materials for work:

  • a sheet of thick paper;
  • scissors;
  • compass;
  • ruler;
  • a simple pencil;
  • glue.

Let's start creating the cone:

1. Make a circle on paper using a pencil and a compass, and then use a ruler to divide it into 4 equal parts. These will be sectors.

Advice! If you don’t have a compass, you can take a saucer or plate of suitable size (it should fit on the sheet) and circle it with a pencil.

2. If you want to get a wide figure, then you should cut off only one of the parts; if not very wide, then 2 parts; if you need a small cone, then 3. Just remember to leave a 1 cm margin on one edge so that coat it with glue and put it inside the cone.

3. Now roll up the workpiece, grease it with glue (or use tape) and let it dry.

What crafts can you make?

With the help of a regular cone you can come up with many interesting crafts for any holiday, for a gift or just for interior decoration.

Christmas tree.

Method 1

To begin with, I'm ready geometric figure needs to be covered with tape. Then coat the knitting threads (or regular thick threads) with glue and, making circular movements, wind them around the cone in any order.

After the glue has dried, you will need to carefully disconnect the cone from the threads and pull it out. The result is an unusual frame, which is then decorated with beads, snowflakes, stars, small balls, serpentine or rain.

Method 2

To make such a Christmas tree, the cone is covered with colored paper or beautiful fabric, various colors are added on top, a star is glued to the top.

Gift bag

A wonderful bag is made like this:

  1. Form a blank for a cone;
  2. Glue a piece to the wide part corrugated paper with folds so that it protrudes 10-15 cm beyond the edges.
  3. Glue the cone together.
  4. Glue the pictures onto the craft or decorate it to your liking.

In such a bag you can put a small soft toy, sweets, etc. Tie a ribbon at the top and present it to your friends and relatives.

Using the same principle, by making a cone base, you can do many other interesting things. Some ideas are presented below.

For New Year's decoration Small Christmas trees made from scrap materials are very suitable for apartments. One of the main advantages of such Christmas trees is the ease of production and a wide field for imagination when decorating them. In addition, you can make many of these Christmas trees at once - different in appearance and decoration - and place them throughout the apartment, thus decorating it in an original way. The easiest way is to make a Christmas tree-cone out of paper. On specialized websites there are many ideas for decorating such Christmas trees, to which you can always add your own creativity. With all the variety of models, all Christmas trees have the same base - a cone made of paper or cardboard.

How to make a cone for a Christmas tree with your own hands?

To make such a spruce you will need cardboard, regular and colored paper, scissors and glue. And of course - more imagination. The best material for making the base cone for the Christmas tree - cardboard. Only for small, delicate and airy Christmas trees, a cone can be made from paper.

The cone can be rolled in two ways

  • A sheet of cardboard is rolled up in the most elementary way, like a bag for seeds. The excess edges protruding from the wide part of the cone are cut off, and the cone itself is glued together. The bottom edge is cut so that the cone stands straight and does not slant to one side.

  • An even circle is drawn on cardboard (preferably with a compass, but you can circle a plate or basin, although in this case it will be difficult to find the center) and divided into four equal parts. One of these parts is cut out, after which a cone of the required tapering is twisted from the remaining figure. The edges are secured with glue. The cone is balanced, similar to the first method.

After this, you can make “needles” or “branches” in any way you choose, and then decorate with garlands of light bulbs, small toys, etc. Such Christmas trees are suitable not only for home decoration, but also for New Year's gifts.

Cardboard or paper cones can be used in a variety of home craft projects. Pointed nose of a snowman, Christmas tree, a trivial bag or toy rocket has the shape of a cone. The application potential is enormous. To understand how to make a cone out of paper or cardboard, you need to understand the sequence of actions and decide on necessary materials and accessories.

To make a three-dimensional conical geometric figure out of paper or cardboard with your own hands, you will need 2 sheets of A4 paper (cardboard) or whatman paper. You will also need a pair of paper clips, scissors, a pencil, a ruler, a compass and a compound for gluing paper.

Step-by-step instructions “How to make a cone out of paper” or “How to make a cone out of cardboard with your own hands” consist of two parts and look like this.

Lateral surface of the cone:

The side surface of the cone template is ready and left for some time for the glue to dry.

Cone base

To find out the radius of the base of the conical frame, use a ruler to measure the diameter of the lower part of the workpiece, which is a paper (cardboard) side surface.

The finished product is left to dry for 10-15 minutes and can then be used for its intended purpose.

You can gradually build a ready-made development of any size for a conical product using a computer in a graphic editor. After drawing the drawing in a computer program, you need to print it on a printer, and then all that remains is to separate the excess with scissors and glue the finished figure. This option is especially convenient if you need to make a toy in the form of a truncated cone.

Product Application

The finished cone can become the basis or form for various children's toys or crafts: from a decorative Christmas tree or a festive cap on your head to figurines of toy people or animals. A little imagination, as well as some additional materials and little effort, will allow you and your children to please yourself and your children with original crafts.

Most Popular homemade product based on a cone figure is Christmas tree. It can be done in two ways: using a paper cone as a base or using it to shape a future product.

First option. To make a festive miniature beauty, you will need green paint, a brush, glue and various small colored decorations with which you can decorate the toy. Coloring a white paper cone green color, leave it until the paint dries completely. In the meantime, prepare small decorations in the form of stars, snowflakes, etc. After smearing them with glue, they attach them to a green conical frame.

As a result, we get a small Christmas tree toy that will add festive mood adults and will bring joy to children.

Another variant manufacturing involves using a paper cone as a mold for a Christmas tree toy. How to make a cone for a Christmas tree is discussed in “ Step by step instructions making a cone." And before the actual process of creating such a product with your own hands, you need to prepare scissors, tape, glue, green thick threads and small shiny jewelry for the miniature beauty. The sequence of operations in this case is as follows:

  • The finished paper or cardboard cone frame is covered with tape.
  • The threads are moistened with glue (usually PVA is used) and wound onto a cone shape from top to bottom, intertwining them at different angles in order to obtain a more voluminous figure.
  • Prepared decorations are attached to the wound and adhesive threads and the entire structure is left to dry.

After a certain time, after waiting for the structure to dry completely, the frame itself is pulled out of the thread tree, and the finished structure is placed in a visible place as a holiday decoration.

Using a similar manufacturing technology, you can quite easily make other types of cone-shaped household products. And depending on the required rigidity, you should use either thick paper or stiffer cardboard as a material.

And again I will show you how to create origami things from one A4 sheet. Today you will learn how to make a paper cone with your own hands according to the correct and convenient pattern. The craft is a shortened version of the master class. The cone turns out to be durable and neat, it can be used in a masquerade, in the form of a nose if you. We don't need any glue or other tools or materials. The craft is very easy, you can start teaching handicrafts to your children with it.

How to make a paper cone

As always, we put a sheet of A4 format, this time I took a crimson color.

Using the already known pattern, we make a square. We bend one corner so that the two edges lie parallel and exactly relative to each other.

We tear off the unnecessary rectangle, we get two parts, one of them is the square we need.

Using the existing fold, we make a triangle out of the square. Or rather, we fold one corner to the opposite one.

Then fold the triangle in half again, along the central corner.

We unfold the last action and bend the lower half of the triangle along the central fold.

Then, simply twist the folded half up. First, twist up one step.

Then we twist for the second step. And there should be no extra protrusions left on the workpiece. It turns out like this triangle.

For clarity, I will turn the workpiece over. We turn the single extreme corner. This is for convenience.

We put the part that was not tucked inside the workpiece.

View from above. We insert it all the way.

This is how it should be.

And at the very end, we insert the initially folded part, as well as the opposite one in the previous step, inside the cone.

View from above. Of course, we push it all the way in.

And you get a beautiful and very simple paper cone made with your own hands according to an origami style pattern.

Instead of the word “pattern,” “reamer” is sometimes used, but this term is ambiguous: for example, a reamer is a tool for increasing the diameter of a hole, and in electronic technology there is the concept of a reamer. Therefore, although I am obliged to use the words “cone development” so that search engines can find this article using them, I will use the word “pattern”.

Creating a pattern for a cone is a simple matter. Let's consider two cases: for a full cone and for a truncated one. On the picture (click to enlarge) Sketches of such cones and their patterns are shown. (I should immediately note that we will only talk about straight cones with a round base. We will consider cones with an oval base and inclined cones in the following articles).

1. Full cone

Designations:

Pattern parameters are calculated using the formulas:
;
;
Where .

2. Truncated cone

Designations:

Formulas for calculating pattern parameters:
;
;
;
Where .
Note that these formulas are also suitable for a full cone if we substitute .

Sometimes when constructing a cone, the value of the angle at its vertex (or at the imaginary vertex, if the cone is truncated) is fundamental. The simplest example is when you need one cone to fit tightly into another. Let's denote this angle with a letter (see picture).
In this case, we can use it instead of one of three input values: , or . Why "together O", not "together e"? Because to construct a cone, three parameters are enough, and the value of the fourth is calculated through the values of the other three. Why exactly three, and not two or four, is a question beyond the scope of this article. A mysterious voice tells me that this is somehow connected with the three-dimensionality of the “cone” object. (Compare with the two initial parameters of the two-dimensional “circle segment” object, from which we calculated all its other parameters in the article.)

Below are the formulas by which the fourth parameter of the cone is determined when three are given.

4. Pattern construction methods

  • Calculate the values on a calculator and construct a pattern on paper (or directly on metal) using a compass, ruler and protractor.
  • Enter formulas and source data into a spreadsheet (for example, Microsoft Excel). Use the obtained result to create a pattern using a graphic editor (for example, CorelDRAW).
  • use my program, which will draw on the screen and print a pattern for a cone with the given parameters. This pattern can be saved as a vector file and imported into CorelDRAW.

5. Not parallel bases

As for truncated cones, the Cones program currently creates patterns for cones that have only parallel bases.
For those who are looking for a way to construct a pattern for a truncated cone with non-parallel bases, here is a link provided by one of the site visitors:
