To sew a baby hat, we first need to measure the circumference of the child's head.
How to do this is shown in the photo on the right.
We clasp the head with a centimeter so that the measuring tape passes through the forehead and the back of the head - this will be head circumference .
Then we measure the distance from ear to ear through the top of the head - this will be cap depth.
For a simple hat, these measurements will be enough.

1. Fleece hat - in 15 minutes

The simplest hats can be sewn in literally 15 minutes.

You will need a piece of fleece width:
1. Option- cap depth + lapel width +2 allowance (2 cm)
Option 2- cap depth + lapel width + bubo width + 2 allowances (2 cm)

Pattern of a simple fleece hat

Cut out and sew the side seam. Then turn 5-7 cm inside out and stitch to the edge. All that remains is to assemble the top of the cap. In the first option, we collect the fabric and sew it by hand. You can additionally wrap the button with a piece of fabric and sew it on top.
You can also simply stitch the top edge from the wrong side. The result will be something like a “Cockerel” hat. The corners can be left or hidden inside.

In the second option, we collect the fabric and tie it with a ribbon (ribbon, string), as if we were making a ponytail. It can be cut into strips of 1.5 - 2 cm. You will get a real bubo.

3. Fleece hat - Kitty

Here you need to cut out 2 parts (don't forget to add seam allowances). Stitch them and then make the lapel. It needs to be folded to the wrong side and stitched to the edge.

Cut out 2 pieces. Keep in mind that the inner part of the cap should be 1 centimeter smaller in circumference of the head than the outer part.

Now turn the cap inside out, steam the bottom edge a little and carefully stitch it from the front side. All that remains is to tie and decorate the bubo.

5. Fleece hat (for everyone)

If you don’t need a large bubo, then the double cap can be sewn differently, where the bottom of the cap is cut out according to the shape of the head.

There are 2 tailoring options:
1 Option- make the hat completely two-layer.
To do this, you need to cut out two solid parts (do not forget that the inside of the cap should be 1 cm smaller in volume than the outside).
Stitch all the upper wedges of each part.
Then place one piece inside the other with right sides facing each other and stitch along the bottom edge of the cap, leaving a distance of 7-8 cm at the back of the head without stitching, so that you can turn the cap onto your face.
Don't forget the ties. The ties must be basted to the ears in advance so that during stitching they are inside the parts.
All that remains is to turn the cap inside out and manually sew up the remaining 7-8 cm of the seam at the back of the head.

Option 2- make only the bottom part of the hat two-layer, and leave the bottom one-layer.
You can use 2 colors
To do this, the pattern needs to be cut into 2 parts - upper and lower (red line in the photo).

Next, cut out 2 parts (with a fold) of the lower part (internal and external) and 1 part of the upper part (4 wedges).
Sew the lower parts of the hat along the bottom edge, not forgetting the ties.
Sew the wedges with a seam that goes from eye to eye. Sew the entire piece with the wedges to the outer bottom of the hat.
Now you need to sew a side seam (the seam at the back of the head), which will connect the bottom wedges along the hat and the 2 parts of the bottom of the hat (inner and outer).
All that remains is to turn the inside of the hat inside the hat and nicely and neatly sew the edge of the inside bottom part of the cap to the seam between the bottom and top parts.
You can sew by hand or stitch by machine.

From dark knitwear we cut out 2 strips for ties. The width of the strips is 3cm. Cut the cord, approximately 19 inches (47.5 cm). Divide the cord in half.

Sew the strips together and turn them right side out. We thread the cord inside the tie.

We sew the side seam, and gradually all the other seams, ironing them.

We trim the corners and also sew the seams of the hat.

Sew up all remaining seams and iron them. The shortest seam is in front.

Mark the location of the ties with chalk or pencil. We sew the main and lining together, inserting the ties. We leave a little space, do not make the stitching continuous, so that later we can turn the hat onto its face.

We process the back seam using a machine or overlocker.

We move to the top part and sew the top of the hat.

Turn the work right side out.

We fold the hat in 2 layers, make sure that all the seams match, and pin it together. Machine sew the top seam. In this case, the back seam will be completely closed. All that remains is to turn out the stocking cap.

So the hat is sewn.

Children's hat-stocking

A children's stocking cap is sewn on a machine in the same way as an adult's. Only the pattern will be the same, but one size smaller. You yourself must measure the volume of the child’s head and the height of the hat with a centimeter, and make changes to the pattern.

The cold has already arrived, but your children still have no warm hat made of fleece? This is not a problem, because you can do without buying a new product, for example, sew it yourself. Even the most inexperienced seamstress can cope with such work, since creating a pattern does not require any special knowledge of cutting and sewing. Taking measurements

A fleece hat is sewn only according to a pre-prepared pattern. To build it, you need precise parameters:

• Head circumference (OG).
• Facial circumference (FG).
• Range from the eyebrow line to the central part of the skull.

For example, we took the measurements of a three-year-old child, this is what we ended up with: OG - 50 cm, OL - 54 cm, and last value- 36 cm.

Our next steps:

1. We build the grid of our pattern. We draw a rectangle on paper with the width of our half-circumference of the head with an allowance of 2 cm. The height of the rectangle will be the half-circumference of the face with the same allowance of 2 cm. If you plan to sew a hat without insulation, then the second allowance can be omitted.
2. As a result, we got an equilateral rectangle with parameters 27 by 29 cm.
3. For convenience in work, we mark the main angles in the drawing with letters.
4. Initially, we drew a rectangle and divided it in half. So, for example, starting from the upper left corner “A”, mark 6 cm to the right (suitable for exhaust gas up to 50 cm). For large parameters, you need to indent 9-10 cm. Draw a horizontal straight line.
5. Now we find mark C, mark a distance from it equal to half of our measurement from the line of the eyebrows to the central part of the skull. This is what we got: 36/2=18 cm. Now you can draw the next horizontal stripe on the pattern diagram.
6. Next, we divide our rectangle in half. So, we got new points of the second half of A1, B1, C1 and D1.
7. Divide column A and A1 into two halves, draw a line in the middle.
8. All we have to do is draw the outlines of the cap. From the lower corners of block A and A1 we draw rounded lines to the top. These will be our future darts for a comfortable fit of the product on the head.
9. We lower the back of the head by 2 cm, drawing a smooth line on the front and back of the head, not forgetting to outline the ear in any order.
10. Our pattern on paper is ready.

Simple baby fleece hat

5. We process the edges of the cuts using an overlock method. You can sew the edges by hand using a loop method. You can skip this step, since fleece is a material that does not crumble.
6. We carry out the previous steps with all other parts of the fabric.
7. We put the parts face to face, and then insert them so that one part is inside the other. Fix the perimeter again with pins.
8. We sew all the seams, leaving a small pocket for turning the product inside out.
9. Turn the hat right side out and hide the hole under hidden seam. This work is done by hand, as the machine stitching will be noticeable.
10. We tear off the remaining threads for basting, carefully straighten the product, and bend the edging at our discretion.

A simple, warm and beautiful hat is ready!

10. We sew a pink patch in the area of ​​the right ear, decorating it with decorative black stitching. At this stage, the upper part of the headdress is ready. All we have to do is make the inside and the ties.
11. We take the main black part of our hat, which we cut at the very beginning. We sew two seams on it (front and back).
12. We cut out two rectangles measuring 20 by 3 cm. Fold them in half, machine stitch them, and turn them inside out. Our ties are ready.
13. We sew the black and gray pieces together, leaving holes on the sides for the ties.
14. We insert the ends of the stitched sections into the holes. We sew the open opening with a hidden seam. Turn the product inside out. Straighten the muzzle and ears.
