Spring comes into its own everywhere. The sun is shining brighter and brighter, the first flowers are blooming, and in some places the first grass has already grown. Project participants "Weekend with your favorite book" also felt the warm breath of spring and created with their children spring crafts: flowers and rainbow. I hope that this wave of inspiration will penetrate into every home and your creative activities with children will become bright and warm like spring.
Rainbow arc
We made a rainbow out of paper. We needed a double-sided colored paper, glue, pencils and markers, scissors. Jaromir cut rainbow colored double-sided paper into strips of equal width, but different lengths... The purple stripe is the longest, the red is the shortest. Then he glued the strips together at both ends. Red with orange, then yellow, etc. The result is a volumetric rainbow. On a piece of paper, the son drew a lake and threw a rainbow across the lake (glued it to the picture). We signed the "Rainbow-arc" hand-made article.

Hydrangea and gerbera
We made a craft of flowers from lids from under bags with fruit puree... We've got a lot of colorful caps. Therefore, I decided to invite my son to make a flower out of them. He himself selected the caps with holes. I took out the string, my son deftly strung the lids on the string and got so carried away that he began stringing a straw for juice as well. At first she gave in quite easily, but somewhere in the middle, the matter stalled. The child became nervous, I had to help. At the end of the string, we twisted a kind of knot. So we got a stalk, but it could not withstand such a massive inflorescence.
Mom suggested thinking about the vase. This is how a glass with a handle appeared. The son made the leaves from green paper, just tearing it, crushing it a little and putting it in a glass-vase. And then the son proudly ran around the apartment and showed everyone his flower. Most likely we got a hydrangea!
The youngest daughter made her flower a little earlier. The result is a graphical flower from a pyramid. Most of all, he reminded me of a gerbera.

The choice of his son fell on voluminous flowers made of multi-layered petals. Taking double-sided colored paper, Misha circled the circles and cut them out. Fold it in half and again in half, then I drew a cutting outline and now the first petals are ready. Sequential gluing turned out to be very interesting for him, when the flower immediately becomes alive and voluminous.

For the cores, we used the remnants of rhinestones with which I somehow embroidered a picture, and a glue gun. The stems are made of cocktail tubes and are complemented by the leaves of their colored paper. Decorated the jar with the material from the packaging of flowers and our little bouquet is ready.

For this bouquet you will need double-sided colored paper, scissors and glue. Take a green sheet of paper, fold it in half and cut the noodles with scissors, leaving about 2 cm at the bottom edge. Then we roll up the sheet with a roll, glue it and straighten the resulting "grass".
Then we cut out flowers from multi-colored double-sided colored paper, draw cores for them and glue them on our grass in random order. That's all. The bouquet is ready, you can give it to your mom!

Carnation
We made a bunch of carnations. To make flowers, we needed:
- napkins (white and green);
- felt-tip pens;
- wire.
We take several white napkins, fasten them with a clothespin so that they do not disperse, outline a circle and cut out. Next, carefully paint over the edges with a felt-tip pen. Insert the wire into the center of the flower and fix it. For flowers, my husband gave us a braided copper wire. You need to clean the tip so that it is sharper, pierce the napkins and bend it with pliers. It is enough to make a small hook. Since the napkins are folded in several layers, they themselves seem to hold this hook, and you don't have to be very sophisticated.
A bright and beautiful paper rainbow is a great spring-summer craft for kids. There are many ways to create it, two of which are presented in this master class.
For work you will need:
- Double-sided colored cardboard in red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, blue, purple;
- Ruler, pencil, scissors, glue;
- For the second method, there is also cotton wool.
Paper rainbow step by step
Cut 7 stripes out of colored cardboard, corresponding to the color of the rainbow. Any sizes, but it must be borne in mind that 6 stripes will overlap slightly, which means that you need to add a few millimeters to the desired width. For example, the rainbow presented in this review consists of stripes, the length of which is equal to the narrow side of A4 paper. The width of 6 stripes is 1.5 cm, purple is 1 cm.
Glue all the stripes together, gluing each next to the previous one. The sides can be trimmed, but this is not necessary, later they will not be visible.
Draw a cloud of any shape and cut 4 identical ones. Clouds can be made of white cardboard, perhaps even more beautiful in a snow-white state.
At this stage, you can immediately glue two clouds from different sides to the tips of the rainbow, but it is better, before adding clouds, to make the rainbow arched, as it should be. Due to the fact that the strips are made of cardboard, the curved position will be held much better than if it were paper. To bend the glued together strips, draw a simple pencil across their entire area, while bending the rainbow down a little. Usually, in this way, leaves for flowers are created, beautifully wrapping them in either direction. Run a few times under the rainbow with a pencil, help a little with your hands, gently pressing the tips together and thereby creating an arc. But don't overdo it, the rainbow doesn't need sharp corners.
If you haven't glued on the clouds yet, do it now. You will get such a simple and cute rainbow made of paper.
Depending on the thickness of the paper, it is not always possible to give the rainbow an arched position. In this case, there are two solutions to the problem:
- Stick the balloons to the paper, fixing the position.
- Cut off a thin strip of paper, bend the rainbow and glue this strip on the sides inside, having previously determined the height of the arc.

All actions to create a rainbow, as in the first option. Then cut out the clouds, bend the ends of the colored stripes glued together and glue to the cloud. Glue the clouds themselves to the cardboard, but not in the side area, but on the entire side.
Everyone likes the rainbow - both children and adults. Its colorful overflows attract the eye, but its value is not limited to just aesthetics: it is also great way to interest the child in science and turn the knowledge of the world into an exciting game! In the footsteps of Newton
In 1672, Isaac Newton proved that ordinary white is a mixture of rays of different colors. "I darkened my room," he wrote, "and made a very small hole in the shutter to let in sunlight." On the path of the sunbeam, the scientist placed a special triangular glass - a prism. On the opposite wall he saw multicolored stripes, which was later called the spectrum. Newton explained this by the fact that the prism decomposed white light into its constituent colors. Then he placed another prism in the path of the multi-colored beam. With this, the scientist re-assembled all the colors into one ordinary sunbeam.
To repeat the experience of a scientist, a prism is not necessary - you can use what is at hand. In fine weather, place a glass of water on a table near a window on the sunny side of the room. Place a sheet of plain paper on the floor near the window so that the sun's rays fall on it. Dampen the window with hot water. Then change the position of the glass and sheet of paper until a small rainbow plays on the paper.
A rainbow from the looking glass
The experiment can also be carried out both in sunny and cloudy weather. It requires a shallow bowl of water, a small mirror, a flashlight (if there is no sun outside the window) and a sheet of white paper. Submerge the mirror in water, and place the bowl itself so that the sun's rays fall on it (or direct the beam of a flashlight to the mirror). Change the angle of inclination of objects if necessary. In the water, the light should be refracted and broken into colors, so that with a sheet of white paper it will be possible to "catch" a small rainbow.
Chemical rainbow
Everyone knows that soap bubbles are rainbow colored. The thickness of the walls of the soap bubble changes inhomogeneously, constantly moving, so its color is constantly changing. For example, at a thickness of 230 nm, the bubble turns orange, at 200 nm it turns green, and at 170 nm it turns blue. When, due to the evaporation of water, the wall thickness of the soap bubble becomes less than the wavelength of visible light, the bubble stops shimmering with the colors of the rainbow and becomes almost invisible before bursting - this happens at a wall thickness of about 20-30 nm.
The same thing happens with gasoline. This substance does not mix with water, therefore, being in a puddle on the road, it spreads over its surface and forms the thinnest film that creates beautiful iridescent stains. We owe this miracle to the so-called interference - or, more simply, the effect of light refraction.
Music rainbow
Interference causes iridescent overflows on the surface of CDs. By the way, this is one of the most simple ways"Getting" the rainbow at home. In the absence of the sun, it will do table lamp, and a flashlight, but in this case the rainbow is less bright. By simply changing the angle of the CD, you can get a rainbow stripe, a circular rainbow, and restless rainbow bunnies on a wall or any other surface.
Besides, what is not a reason to teach a child the basics of musical literacy? Indeed, initially Newton distinguished only five colors in the rainbow (red, yellow, green, blue and purple), but then he added two more - orange and purple. Thus, the scientist wanted to create a correspondence between the number of colors in the spectrum and the number of notes of the musical scale.
Projector night light
If a temporary solution is not enough for you, you can make a rainbow at home "at all" - for example, with the help of such a miniature projector. It projects a rainbow on the walls and ceiling - even at night, even on a cloudy day, when there is a lack of invigorating colors ... The projector can work in two modes: all colors together, or each one separately. On the eve of new year holidays this is perhaps a good gift idea for a child or just a creative person.
Window suspension
Another version of the "rainbow without worries" (which, however, can only be enjoyed during daylight hours, and only in sunny weather) is the so-called rainbow disc made using modern laser technologies. A glass prism measuring 10 centimeters in diameter is enclosed in a chrome plastic case. It is attached to the window with a suction cup and, transforming sunlight, projects it onto the walls, floor and ceiling of the room. There are 48 color lines in total: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple and all shades in between.
Flip book with 3D effect
In the past few years, books have begun to appear with interesting and unusual effects- for example, "flip-books" with running pictures. Many of us are familiar with this technology from our own childhood: we drew pictures on the margins of a notebook, and then revived them, quickly flipping through the pages. A book based on this fun was created by Japanese designer Masashi Kawamura. If you quickly flip through it, you can see a volumetric rainbow!
If you wish, you can make a similar hand-made rainbow with your own hands, and at the same time clearly demonstrate the animation effect to the child. To do this, you need to print on paper or draw squares of rainbow colors on each page of your notebook. In total, you need 30-40 sheets. It is important to take into account that on the one side of each page you need to draw them in the usual sequence, and on the other - in the opposite, otherwise you will not get a rainbow.
