Sew a tunic out of a plain or striped fabric. You will also need a leather belt or rope.

One of the most popular outfit additions is a striped tea towel as a headgear. If you don't have one on hand, use a wool shawl, for example.

Optionally, you can add a toy sheep to the picture.

If you don't have time to make a tunic, use a robe.

- colored mesh material, about 3 m, the larger the mesh, the fuller the skirt

- scissors

How to make a tutu:

1. Measure the length of the elastic around your baby's waist and tie into a loop.

Animal

Do not be discouraged if your child gets the role of an animal. Even the most skilled dressmaker will have to work hard to quickly sew a cow or sheep costume.

You can of course buy the costume from the store, but we offer you a very simple, fast and inexpensive option: a simple headband, ponytail, and face pattern. If your child gets the role of a donkey, for example, you can dress him in all brown, add a headdress and a tail. Black tights or leggings are suitable for the "cow", glue or sew on white felt spots to the clothes.

Headdress. Cut a strip so long that it fits comfortably on the child's head, fasten it. Cut out the ears to the appropriate sizes, glue or staple them, decorate. You can glue the fur on the cardboard. The drawing on the face of your child will complement the costume.

DIY children's Christmas costumes

Let's start with the simplest and most popular carnival costumes: matryoshka, parsley, ladybug and parrot.

Matryoshka

Fold the square scarf as shown in Figure 22.9 and sew two stitches. Pass the wire between them to the distance at which the knot will be tied. Try on a handkerchief for a girl, tie a knot and hide the visible ends of the wire.

A sundress will require a piece of fabric, the length of which will be equal to the child's height from the armpit to the floor. The width of the fabric is 120 cm. From the seamy side, sew a drawstring at the waist. Sew the panel, assemble at the top. Sew on the yoke with shoulder straps. Cut a piece of wire equal to the circumference of your baby's chest. Hem the bottom of the sarafan and thread the wire into the seam. Also insert a 120 cm long wire between the panel and the tape at the waist.

ladybug

New Year's ladybug costume is one of the most popular outfits. It looks very beautiful and elegant, and tailoring is not so difficult. The hat can be made of paper or pre-starched fabric.

The wings are made of fabric with painted or glued paper dots. We will sew the shorts from a dark fabric. You will also need black tights and a turtleneck (or long sleeve). Bows for shoes can be made from paper.

Ladybug Costume - Pattern

Following figure 22.11, sew a cover for a hat. Sew the cover from above, tie the corners on both sides, forming "antennae". Cut a strip of paper (you can also use a starched cloth), fold it with an accordion and pierce a hole in it with an awl, insert the lace.

Now for the wings, cut out a piece of fabric using pattern 22.12, fold and hem the sections, then thread the wire through the hem. If you decide to make paper wings, then make two parts of each part, lay a wire between them, and then glue them. From above, the wings are attached to the ribbon.

Sew the shorts according to the pattern. You can also use the child's ready-made loose shorts, attach them to the fabric, and reshoot the pattern. In this case, it is advisable to expand the details a little. After sewing the shorts, gather their top and bottom with an elastic band.

Children's costume of parsley or buffoon

It is advisable to use brightly colored scraps of fabric. The collar can be made from either paper or fabric. Before sewing the cap, the fabric for it should be starch.

Cut out two pieces and a lapel. Sew. In order for the headdress to keep its shape, fill it with padding polyester or crumpled paper. Decorate the hat with bells and colorful buttons.

The jumpsuit of the buffoon should be loose. It is best to combine multi-colored fabrics. Build a pattern on paper, then transfer the details to the fabric: two shelf details and two back details. Sew. Gather the bottom of the trousers and sleeves with an elastic band (elastic band). To create cardboard buttons, cut out the circles, cover them with fabric, and sew to the suit.

Cut out the collar pieces and connect them following diagram 22.14. The collar must keep its shape. Gather it along the neckline and sew with braid, leave strings at the ends. For a complete resemblance to the character, do not forget to apply the appropriate makeup to the baby - bright cheeks and red freckles.

This is perhaps the most multi-piece suit. Make the beak and feathers out of paper. Everything else is made of fabric. Use colored sleeves and tights as a complement.

Sew the cover for the cap and the visor-beak, connect them. Sew on eyes-buttons and eyelashes from colored paper. For the tuft, also use paper strips, twisted slightly with a pen or pencil. Tie a tuft on top. Tuck the feathers inward.

The jumpsuit, as in the previous case, consists of two parts of the front and two parts of the back. Build a pattern, cut out the details and sew. Collect the bottom of the legs and sleeves on an elastic tape.

Start creating decor. Cut feathers out of multi-colored paper for the sleeves and breast. Also make a tail out of paper - feathers of different lengths and colors. Each feather is glued from two halves with a wire between them. Attach the ponytail to the back, further reinforcing the seamy point of attachment. Sew covers for the feet out of any bright fabric so that they stay better on the leg, sew an elastic band at the bottom. Fix the finished covers on the leg with a tape.

Calculation: the number of stripes 15 cm wide and long, which is equal to "skirt length x 2 + 3 cm". There will be 20 lanes across a width of three meters. Cut two lengths + 3cm that will go for the knot. Roll to length and cut the roller into 15 cm wide pieces. You will get two long tulle ribbons. Sew a belt for the skirt from the elastic tape. Tie double-folded tulle ribbons around the waistband. When you tie the whole circle completely, the skirt is ready. Take tulle in one piece. The simplest ballet tutu does not require efforts to make, we will consider in stages two options for how to make a tutu skirt without sewing. In the first case, it will be necessary to do the following:

1. Measure the child's waist with a measuring tape, take a wide elastic band, and cut off the resulting length, after subtracting 3-5 cm.
2. Place the ends of the elastic over each other and sew them tightly. This elastic will become a belt for a future skirt.
3. Prepare tulle. Set aside the required length by doubling it and adding 2.5 cm. If you have a solid piece of material, cut it into strips 7.5-8 cm wide.
4. The elastic of the belt needs to be pulled over something hard, the back of a chair will do. Fold the tulle strip in half and tie it around the elastic.
5. Repeat the steps, gradually sliding the knotted strips closer together.

The second method is useful for those who want to make a 2 or 3-layer tulle skirt. The manufacturing process is not much different, but a checkerboard elastic is suitable as a belt. What do we have to do:

1. Prepare tulle as in the first case, for a two-layer skirt you will need 2 coils.
2. Pull the elastic over a large book, or a suitable board.
3. Fold the tulle strip in half and thread into the second row from the bottom. Next, do the same until you have covered the entire row.
4. Use a pen or pencil to make the second row. They will help you avoid getting tangled up in the layers. Tie on the strips without skipping the place. Spread and tighten the fabric to make the skirt look tidier.

Important! Use soft or medium-hard tulle. A skirt made of it will look much more beautiful and less bulging.

Tutu Costume Ideas

A tutu skirt will suit almost every look. It is enough to add accessories, decorate the finished product a little, and you can safely go to the ball. You can complement the image with leggings, an apron, and a basket.

Kitty

A tutu skirt in this look looks very impressive if it is one-color, for example, black or white. It is necessary to sew a fur tail, tights or striped leggings to a short fluffy skirt.
