Vasilyeva Elena

TO new everyone is trying to do original crafts And postcards. I want to invite MAAAM members to make a multi-layer postcard in the form of a tunnel. The technique is interesting and I love it.

FUNNY SNOWMAN

On the Internet I found a coloring book that suited the theme and made stencils from it. Then I divided them into 3 parts: foreground, middle and background. I drew 3 frames from white cardboard and began filling them with characters. In the background I decided to place trees, then Christmas trees. And in the foreground was the main character - snowman. I carefully cut out all the blanks and decided to decorate them with glue with glitter of different colors. It's fast and beautiful. The back wall - a background made of blue cardboard - was decorated using multi-colored satin ribbons and sequins. I cut out another frame of blue color and eight accordions with a width of one strip of 1.5 cm, a total of 4 strips in one accordion. When all the parts were ready, I started the most interesting part - assembly. Like this three-dimensional New Year card I did it. Cheerful snowman is ready for the New Year!

New Year's card with a snowman step by step

Making a snowman

Use a template or draw a snowman yourself, consisting of two circles, where the bottom larger size, and the top one is smaller. The top part of the top circle should be cut off.

Using your own or the provided template, cut out 5 blanks from white paper.

Fold each of them in half.

Now you need to glue all the blanks together. Apply glue to one side of the folded piece and glue the other to it.

Glue all 5 parts in exactly the same way, carefully adjusting the edges so that the snowman is as complete and neat as possible.

Making a cylinder

Now cut out 5 cylinders according to the template.

Fold each one in half. And then glue it together, just like the snowman.

The voluminous snowman and top hat are ready. They are not yet glued to the base, so they can later be positioned as you please.

Making a broom

If desired, you can make a broom for the snowman. To do this, fold brown paper into a thin tube. Then cut a strip of yellow paper and cut its wide edge into thin strips.

Finally, wrap the yellow fringed strip around the brown tube.

What could a postcard with a snowman look like?

All the parts of the snowman are ready, now you can make a postcard. You will need cardboard. You can cut a rectangle out of it, a little larger than a snowman, and glue it in the center of the snowman, a hat on top, add a broom, draw eyes, a smile, and buttons with a black felt-tip pen. Decorate the card itself with snowflakes or any desired decor. You can also fold the cardboard in half, glue a snowman on top, and write a congratulation in the middle.

Another great option for decorating a card with a snowman is to fold the cardboard in half, having previously decided on the height and width. And then glue the snowman to the very center, in the fold area. Due to the fact that the snowman and his hat are folded in half, they fit perfectly into the fold, and the card can be opened and closed without any problems. The rest of the card area can be decorated as you wish.

The image of a snowman first appeared in a children's song book in Leipzig. And only in the 19th century did snow creatures become an indispensable attribute of the New Year and Christmas.
In Rus', snowmen have been sculpted since ancient pagan times and were revered as the spirits of winter. They were treated with respect and asked to reduce the duration of severe frosts. The month of January was called “snowman”. The character Snowman is one of the favorite New Year's heroes, Santa Claus's faithful assistant around the house. Modeling a snowman is still everyone's favorite winter fun, carrying only positive emotions of joy and fun.
