Masha costume from the cartoon “Masha and the Bear” Everyone who has children is on the eve of New Year's holidays thinking about carnival costumes. Some buy outfits, and some parents try to sew them with their own hands and embody the image that the child imagines. Masha's costume consists of: a sundress with a yoke and flared to the bottom; headscarves; white turtleneck or embroidered shirt; slippers Material consumption: crimson fabric 0.9 m with a width of at least 1.5 m. Ribbon with an ornament - 1 m Threads to match the fabric Zipper House slippers or sneakers Sequence of sewing Masha's costume 1) Construction of a drawing The figure shows the construction of a sundress pattern for a girl 3 years old. Chest circumference = 50 cm. Add 4 cm to it and draw a base grid 27 cm wide. If the size of your child is slightly different, then the drawing can be increased or decreased. The main thing is to check the dimensions: measure on the pattern and attach to the child. And so all the main important lines, namely OG (chest girth), OB (hip girth), back width, product length. The final test can be to apply the cut out paper pattern to the child. Then you will accurately “see” the future product. 2) Modeling a sundress Some changes must be made to the main drawing of the sundress in order to model it. Namely, draw a yoke line and draw cutting lines along the bottom part. Then cut out the pattern, the yoke separately, and cut the bottom along these lines, not reaching the yoke line by 2-3 mm. 3) Cutting out the parts The figure shows a plan for laying out the parts on the fabric. Basically, there are 1 cm allowances along all contours. The yokes are cut in the amount of 4 pieces. 4) Sewing a scarf The easiest way to sew is to process the edge with an overlocker, turn it inside out 0.5 cm and stitch it on a machine. 5) Sewing a sundress for Masha’s costume a) Sew the back yoke with the back bottom, the front yoke with the bottom. Press the seams up. b) Fold the yoke with the facing of the yoke face to face. Pin and sew along the neckline and armhole line. Remove the pins. Cut allowances to 0.5 cm and make notches where there are smooth lines. Process the front and back yoke in this way. c) Turn out the trimmed front yoke and back yoke. Sweep the seams well, iron them lightly, remove the basting and iron them again. You cannot steam with basting, otherwise stitch marks will remain. d) Sew the front panel to the back panel along the side line. Leave space on the left side of the sundress for sewing in a zipper. Sew the right one completely: first the side of the facing, then the side of the yoke and the side of the bottom. e) Overlock the side and shoulder sections. f) Sew the shoulder seams. Iron allowances. g) Carry out a fitting. h) Fold the bottom of the product 2 times and stitch. i) Attach a braid with an ornament and sew it to Masha’s sundress. j) Sew a zipper into the left side. l) Sew the edge of the facing into the seam where the yoke is sewn to the bottom. You can replace this operation with manual sewing. The main thing is that the flying edge of the facing does not turn out in the sock. m) Iron the entire product. 6) Covering slippers. This procedure retains the talent of doing the job “by eye.” All manipulations are carried out by pinching shoes with fabric. Then the sewing lines are drawn with chalk, the pins are broken off and the details are cut out. Details can be sewn onto fabric slippers or, if the shoes are no longer needed, then even glued (on Double-sided tape, silicone glue). The sneakers will be decorated with bright laces made of satin ribbon. Tips for sewing Masha's costume If funds allow, then it is advisable to choose knitted fabric. It stretches and is therefore more comfortable for the child. Gabardine costs 28 hryvnia, and knitted fabric costs about 70 hryvnia. There may be cheaper ones, but in one of the stores I saw exactly that price. In my case, gabardine also made an excellent suit. The fabric is brightly colored, cheap and does not wrinkle. If you don’t have an overlocker, then the seams can be processed manually, as there are few of them. The scarf will then have to be completely processed using a hem seam with a closed cut. The zipper is sewn between the facing and the sundress. Since we plan to wear this sundress as a carnival costume, I approached sewing in the zipper irresponsibly (the color and quality are poor). Even with the size of the scarf being 90 cm and 45 cm (perpendicular), it turned out to be too big for my 3-year-old daughter, but I didn’t have the courage to make it smaller. This style of sundress is also suitable for a matryoshka costume. It is enough to calculate the width of the drawing along the chest, and the rest of the steps are similar. * You can sew more braid under the yoke)

I’ll say right away that the seamstress in me died before it was born... However, I can, and most importantly, I can explain to people like me, in my own words, how to sew this or that thing.
I decided to sew a Masha costume from the well-known cartoon for my daughter.
Child parameters:
age 3 years,
chest volume 50 cm.
What was needed:
1 meter of crimson fabric, I took calico.
1 skein of thread to match,
zipper, I had 15 cm, but I think you can take it a little longer or shorter.
ribbon with ornament 1 m
Estimate:
fabric - 170 RUR,
threads - 15 rubles,
zipper - it had its own, but if you buy it - 30-50 rubles,
ribbon - 40 rub.
The pictures show three parts.
1) Yoke (Fig. 1). You need to cut out 4 parts. Figure 2 shows how to lay out the pattern.
Sew 2 front pieces on the sides and turn them inside out, do the same with the back pieces.
2) Cut out 2 hem pieces (Fig. 3). Sew the front yoke with the front skirt piece. Do the same with the back yoke and the back part of the skirt.
3) Sew two halves of the sundress, leaving space on the side for a zipper.
4) sew shoulder seams.
5) stitch the bottom, tucking it in.
6) sew a braid along the bottom of the hem.
7) cut out the scarf and trim the edges. I just folded it over and stitched it with a zigzag stitch.

Other attributes of Mashenka’s carnival outfit

Under the finished sundress you need to wear a white golf shirt. The ideal option would be a snow-white embroidered shirt, like Masha’s. But if one cannot be found, then a golf shirt or T-shirt can be found in every girl’s wardrobe.

You can wear white sneakers on your feet. Snow-white or pink ballet slippers are also suitable.

Don't forget to also wear under your sundress. If the carnival takes place in the summer or in a very warm room, and your girl will be hot, then you can take socks or knee socks.

Tips and tricks for sewing Mashenka’s costume from “Masha and the Bear”

  1. A sundress can be decorated not with an embroidered ribbon, but with braid. Then it would be better to place it at the junction of the yoke and the skirt, as well as at the bottom of the sundress, stepping back from the edge by five to eight centimeters.
  2. It is better to choose knitted or satin fabric for a sundress and scarf. Gabardine would also work. It is quite cheap, but the quality is not bad - it does not wrinkle and is brightly colored.
  3. If you don’t have an overlocker, then process all the seams on the sundress by hand. And on the scarf, turn each side twice (take this point into account on the pattern, make an indent not by one or two, but by three to four centimeters).
  4. If the scarf turns out to be large, then it can be easily reduced. To do this, make a few more turns and hem them.
  5. If you took extra fabric, you can make the sundress more flared. To do this, simply enlarge the pattern.
  6. If you don't want to build a yoke, you can simplify the sewing process. To do this, build a rectangle. Its length, like the yoke, should be equal to half the girth of the girl’s chest, and its width should be about twelve centimeters. Cut out the pieces and stitch them together. Then sew the rectangles to the sundress skirt, as you did with the yoke. Then simply sew on wide ribbons instead of straps.
  7. Mashenka's sundress can be altered from any other dress. If only the color was right.
  8. If you want to stand out, then make a sundress and a green scarf with white patterns. Mashenka wore this in one of the episodes of the cartoon of the same name.
Attention, TODAY only!

Today, every second three-year-old girl at the New Year's ball wants to be in the costume of Masha from the cartoon, quite popular - “Masha and the Bear”. Sewing such a New Year's costume for a girl at home will not be difficult if you have on hand:

A piece of lilac satin (1.5 m x 0.8 m - enough to fit);

Duplicate fabric (for a sundress skirt 1.5 m x 0.7 m);

Black border with pattern (1.5 m);

Threads to match the fabric;

Lightning (optional, if the child is large, then it will, of course, come in handy);

Copper wire (for the scarf);

Paper for the pattern (you can just use wallpaper or whatman paper);

Ballpoint pen;

Chalk or a piece of soap (for cutting fabric).

How to sew a Masha costume with your own hands:

1.First of all, we build a pattern on paper (wallpaper in my case). To do this, we will take the necessary measurements:

GC (chest circumference) – 52 cm;

VK (yoke height) – 18 cm;

DI (product length) – 80 cm;

Headscarf – 80 cm x 40 cm.

Now let's start drawing Masha's New Year's costume. On paper we mark the width of the yoke (this is OG:2 = 26 cm). Up 4 cm and also 4 cm inward on both sides, and then up to 18 cm. Leave 4 cm for the straps and make a rounded cutout 10 cm deep. Correct, i.e. round the corners under the arms and cut out the first pattern - coquette

2. Now we draw the skirt of the sundress. Since the length of the entire product is 80 cm, this means that the length of the skirt (80 – 18 =) is 62 cm, and the width, like the yoke, is 26 cm. First, draw a rectangle of this size. Then add 4 cm from the bottom on each side (this results in a downward expansion). Now we cut the pattern into 6 even parts, not cutting 5 mm to the end, and move the strips 5 cm apart from each other. We fix it on paper with tape and cut out the final skirt pattern using it.

3. Lay out the paper patterns on the fabric (don’t forget to leave the fabric for the scarf).

4. We trace the patterns and cut out (leaving 1 cm for the seams) parts of the future sundress: 2 parts of the skirt and 4 parts of the yoke, as well as a scarf.

5. We fold the yoke parts in pairs with the right side inward and sew them on sewing machine along all lines, leaving only the bottom. Then we turn it inside out, steam the seams and sew the 2 parts together on one side.

6. We glue the duplicating fabric to the skirt panels with an iron and also sew them on one side, folding them facing each other.

7. Fold the yoke with the skirt, overcast it by hand (or with an overlocker) and sew it together. All that remains is to complete the side seam.

8. Fold the bottom of the skirt and sew on the border.

9. We tuck the edges of the scarf and sew, inserting wire into the wide side so that the peak of the scarf holds its shape.

10. So in a couple of hours Mashenka’s New Year’s costume is ready.

  3. On the sides of the line, measure up four centimeters.
  4. Draw another four centimeters inward from the side lines.
  5. Measure up about fourteen centimeters and draw the straps of the sundress. To do this, move inward about five centimeters on each side.
  6. Construct a cutout as in illustration 1.
  7. Now you need to build the sundress skirt. To do this, measure the remaining length of the product down from the yoke. That is, if your length is 82 centimeters, then draw a line of 64 centimeters.
  8. Make a dome-shaped extension of the skirt on the sides. To do this, step back four centimeters from the bottom to the right and left and connect these points with the bottom of the yoke (Illustration 2).
  9. Divide the skirt with dotted lines into six equal parts (Illustration 3).
  10. Now move each sector a few centimeters apart from each other (Illustration 4).
  11. Slightly round the bottom of the sundress skirt.
  12. The pattern is ready (illustration 5).

We sew Mashenka's sundress

The instructions on how to sew a Masha costume from the cartoon “Masha and the Bear” using a pattern are quite simple.

  1. Cut out the details from the previously constructed pattern - the yoke and the bottom of the sundress.
  2. Fold the fabric in two layers and cut out two pieces for the bottom of the sundress and four pieces for the yoke. Don't forget to indent one or two centimeters on the sides.
  3. Sew the yoke pieces together (Illustration 1).
  4. Where the yoke should be semicircular (in the armholes and neckline), make small cuts.
  5. Sew together two parts of the sundress skirt (Illustration 2). Leave a small piece on one side so you can sew in a hidden zipper.
  6. Sew the bottom and top of the suit together, finishing the seams with an overlocker to prevent them from fraying (Illustration 3).
  7. Insert a zipper into the remaining piece of skirt (Illustration 4).
  8. Finish the bottom of the sundress with an embroidered ribbon (Illustration 5).
  9. Iron or steam the sundress (Illustration 6).

The Masha and the Bear costume is ready! Now you need to make a scarf.

Making Mashenka's scarf

The scarf is the easiest to make. First make a pattern. To do this, draw a triangle on paper. Its longest side should reach about ninety centimeters, and its height should be forty-five centimeters.

Now attach the pattern to the same fabric as the sundress and cut out the part, making indents of one or two centimeters. Finish all three sides of the triangle with an overlocker, turn them under and stitch.

Iron the scarf so that it is even. All is ready!

New Year's Masha from the cartoon

Mashenka from the famous cartoon had more than one outfit. In the New Year's episodes, she showed off in front of the audience in a blue outfit with a kokoshnik. In it she looked like the Snow Maiden. If you also want to create such an outfit for your daughter or niece, then use the given master class.

Instructions on how to make Masha’s New Year’s costume from the cartoon “Masha and the Bear”:

  1. Construct a sundress pattern as described above.
  2. Sew a sundress according to the pattern, only you no longer need pink fabric, but blue or light blue. It will be even more beautiful if it has different patterns of the same palette.
  3. Cut out the shape of a kokoshnik from very thick cardboard.
  4. Attach the cardboard kokoshnik to the fabric and cut out two pieces from it. Don’t forget to make indents: one to two centimeters is enough on the sides, and leave a margin of five to seven centimeters at the bottom.
  5. Sew the two parts of the kokoshnik together on the sides.
  6. Turn the part inside out and insert the cardboard blank inside.
  7. Take the headband and sew a kokoshnik to it. To do this, stitch indents from the bottom and top of the hoop.
  8. If desired, the kokoshnik can be decorated with pompoms purchased in the store or made with your own hands.
  9. If you used fabric without patterns, then take white acrylic paint or special paint for fabric and draw patterns and curls yourself.

Mashenka's New Year's outfit is ready!
