How to use time. Efficient use of time

2014-07-20

Hi all! Anna Fedorova is in touch! Do you want to learn how to use your time effectively and get more done? These questions are of interest to those who are overwhelmed with a bunch of things and do not have time to deal with them in time. If you are reading this post, then you are familiar with the fact that you planned some things and in the end, you were unable to complete what you had planned. And you think how to manage everything?

It's no secret that successful people know how to properly use and organize their time and this is one of the most important elements of success. If you want to achieve something, value your time and don’t go with the flow like everyone else, strive for your goals, take action. But in order to achieve your goals, you need to be able to use your time rationally, this is what today’s post is dedicated to.

Be decisive. Instead of racing thoughts in your head and deciding how best to do it and counting all the pros and cons - just start taking action. And along the way you will understand that the eyes are afraid, but the hands do.

Do you want to know how to get more done? My advice to you is to use your time effectively - this will be the first step towards success. Unfortunately, not all people pay their attention to this moment and waste it nowhere. You need to manage your time correctly.

How to get more done? Go according to plan

Plan all your affairs! A plan is one of the most powerful tools in the life of any successful entrepreneur. Also, one of the main reasons for creating a plan is to save time, which means you can get much more done. Prepare a plan and follow it. Try to stick to the plan and then you will accomplish more. Always plan the sequence of tasks and the time required to complete them. This way you will know the order of your actions and move forward in your activities.

There should also be order in your affairs and success in your work will be ensured. By using your personal time effectively, you will protect yourself from a lot of stress. And in the evening, analyze what you did during the day; if suddenly you didn’t have time to do something, try to finish it if possible.

Setting a goal

To achieve a certain success, you must know what exactly, when and in what volumes you need to achieve. Goal setting is a necessary attribute of effective time planning. The goal is the end result of your work. All successful people manage to do all their business and achieve their goals. The better you plan your actions, the faster you will get results and achieve your goals.

Organize your workplace

You must have order. Everything should be neatly and correctly laid out on the table. All the necessary attributes for work should always be at hand so as not to waste extra time searching for them.

Don't delay

There is no need to put things off until later. Like, “I’ll do it later.” If you don’t do this, it will also save you from a bunch of accumulated tasks.

Do today what you must do tomorrow

Think about what you have to do in the coming days and complete a few of your tasks in advance. Thanks to this, you will eliminate situations when many important things fall on your shoulders at once. Many people are not used to planning their time, much less doing their things in advance. And they often say things like this: “We’ll wait and see,” “We’ll see,” “We’ll see,” “We still have to live,” etc. So they go with the flow and do not believe in themselves and their strength. And therefore such people, as a rule, do not achieve the desired results.

How to get more done? Find time to relax

In my opinion, work without rest is ineffective! You can’t work all the time; rest is very necessary and important. Of course, it’s good to work, but if it takes a lot of energy, nothing worthwhile will come of it. Or, in the end, your endeavors or exhausting work regarding the Internet business will be in jeopardy.

In any case, you need to know when to stop. By the word relaxation, I don’t mean watching movies and computer games, but something that will distract you from all the hustle and bustle and surroundings. In your busy schedule, be sure to find a place to relax in nature, maybe combine it with sports.

When you work, do it for no more than half an hour, and then take a five-minute break, after which you continue working again. After half an hour of working at the computer, the brain gets tired, which leads to a decrease in performance. During this five-minute period, do some physical exercise or switch to something else. This way, you will be able to accomplish much more than sitting until you are blue in the face at a monitor with red eyes. The correct daily routine is the key to health and success.

Try to lead a healthy lifestyle

I won’t draw your attention to this and read the propaganda, I’ll just say a few words. I consider a healthy lifestyle to include proper nutrition, healthy sleep, and the absence of bad habits. Why is it important?

An unhealthy lifestyle leads to fatigue, irritation, poor health, and as a result, laziness and apathy appear.

Smoking and alcohol take up a huge amount of time for most people. Poor nutrition is one of the reasons for poor health and reluctance to work. And lack of sleep reduces your performance. Don't forget about rest and sleep. This way, you will improve the quality of your work and achieve your goals in a shorter time.

After work is not the time to work

After work, relax, unwind, and do what you enjoy most. Thanks to this, you will enjoy both work and leisure separately and further success in any business.

Don’t waste your time and generally try to spend time improving your knowledge in certain areas in which personal growth is possible. Now it’s the 21st century and you can listen to educational audio podcasts on your way home.

To want to do something and accomplish more, you need it!

There are people who whine and blame others for their failures. Saying that I can’t do this - because I don’t have enough time, I don’t have money - because they don’t pay me enough, etc. Every person is the architect of his own happiness. And if such thinking is present in the head, and there are no goals or desire to change anything, then everything will remain the same and will not change for the better.

But you need to look for these reasons for failures in yourself and strive to correct them. And think this way: I will find time and be able to do it. I don’t have money because I’m doing something wrong or not doing enough for it, but I will work.

Set goals for yourself and achieve them no matter what. I hope you understand that you need to change your thinking. But this is often prevented by people close to you, who say that you are doing nonsense, that nothing will work out, etc. Don't waste your energy on persuasion and use your time effectively - don't sit idly by.

Using all of the above things, you will see how the productivity of all your work in the Internet business will increase, and will have a positive effect on your entire happy life. Because you will use your time effectively and get more done.

Sincerely, Anna Fedorova

Oh woe! Life has passed and time has flown by

In the darkness of shame, weakness and laziness.

And people found a way to salvation

And they move towards lofty goals slowly.

Who, if not the student, should take care of his time?! Saving time is the responsibility of every believer, and for the seeker of knowledge, it is the main concern and the basis for success in his life devoted to acquiring knowledge. And if he knows how to use his time correctly and takes care of it, he will succeed and achieve his goal, and if not, then he will fail and will not be successful.

The seeker of knowledge is a merchant, and his capital is time. But the merchant who squanders his capital left and right is stupid and unlucky. Therefore, he should think about how he spends his time? And let everyone ask themselves for every minute, for every second.

Basic principles of rational use of time

The first duty of the seeker of knowledge is to take care of his time and use it wisely. Our predecessors, may Allah be pleased with them, treated their time most carefully, because they knew its value better than others. Al-Hasan al-Basri said: “I found people who save their time more than you save your dirhams and dinars!”

Therefore, the predecessors did their best to spend their time studying knowledge. ‘Umar ibn “Abdul” Aziz said: “Truly, day and night always take away something valuable from you, so work both day and night!”

They said: “Time is like a sword: if you don’t defeat it, it will defeat you.” They always tried to become better, so that today would be better than yesterday, and tomorrow would be better than today.

Every day, every hour, every moment they sought to acquire useful knowledge, do a good deed, overcome their passions or bring benefit to someone, so that their labors would not be in vain and would not be futile and in vain. They considered it a manifestation of ingratitude and disrespect to spend time without any benefit for themselves and those around them, if they did not increase their knowledge, strengthen their faith, or do good deeds. Ibn Mas'ood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “I regret nothing more than the day when the sun set, life became shorter, and the deeds I did on that day did not become better.”

A seeker of knowledge must take care of his time, devoting every moment to something that will benefit him or teach him something necessary, and try to increase his knowledge every day.

The words of one of the predecessors are reported: “If a day comes when I cannot increase my knowledge in order to gain the mercy of Allah, then there is no blessing for me that the sun has risen on that day.”

Let every moment for the seeker of knowledge be more valuable than any jewels; if people cherish every hour, then the student should cherish every second, every moment. If people compete to accumulate and accumulate wealth, then he should try to get ahead of his time by accumulating useful knowledge. After all, what a huge difference there is between accumulating wealth and accumulating knowledge! In a word, if a student is able to make full use of his time, he will succeed on the path to knowledge, and may Allah help him!

The student should always try to make a detailed plan for his studies and a plan for memorizing his lessons and strictly follow it.

Time is priceless, because life cannot be turned back. It has its own distinctive features, which we need to know well, and based on this, learn how to use it correctly. Here are some of them:

1. Time is fleeting.

2. The time that has already passed cannot be returned or replaced by anything.

3. Time is the most valuable thing a person has. Therefore, a student should not waste his precious time on useless things, and should not abuse what is permissible in food, drink, conversation, etc.

It is not appropriate for someone whom Allah has awarded with knowledge and intelligence to waste his time in disobedience to Allah, to spend it in fun and idleness. A prudent person will not want this for himself, and this will make a prudent person resort to Allah... Prudence, once again, prudence is needed by a person in order to understand the full value of his life and spend it only in obedience to Allah Almighty. And wouldn’t he want to make the book his friend, which he wouldn’t exchange for any of the people ready to become his interlocutor? And this is a huge benefit, which reasonable and pure-hearted people know about.

The most serious obstacle for a person, preventing him from taking advantage of the present moment and today, is procrastination and postponing his good deeds. And this continues until the word “I will” almost becomes his motto and way of life.

A man from the tribe of Abd al-Qais was told: “Give us good advice.” He replied: “Beware of the word “I will.”

The student must fill his day with useful knowledge, good deeds and not put it off until tomorrow, so that his present does not elude him and does not turn into an irrevocable past. He must sow today in order to reap the fruits tomorrow, otherwise he will have to repent when repentance no longer helps...

Imam al-Hasan al-Basri said: “Beware of postponing things for later, because you live today, not tomorrow. And if you live to see tomorrow, then spend it the same way as today, and if not, then you won’t have to regret what you missed today.”

The seeker of knowledge must take advantage of the days of his youth and its golden times. Wisdom says: "Learning time - from cradle to grave." It is believed that the best time for studying is the prime of youth, the time of “suhoor” (dawn time) and the time between two night prayers (i.e. evening and night).

The hadith says:

“On the Day of Resurrection, a servant (of Allah) will not move from his place until he is asked about four things: about his life - how did he spend it? - and about his youth - how did he spend it? and about his wealth - where did he get it from and what did he spend it on? - and about knowing it - how did he use it?

Thus, he will be asked about his entire life in general and about his younger years in particular.

Youth is only a part of life, but it is especially valuable because it is the years of flourishing vitality and firm determination, and also the period of man's strength in the interval between two periods of weakness: the weakness of infancy and the weakness of old age. Youth is a time of activity... youth is a quickly departing guest, and if a reasonable person fails to take advantage of it, then later his heart will break with sorrow.

Therefore, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

(اغتنم خمسا قبل خمس, شبابك قبل هرمك, وصحتك قبل سقمك, وغناك قبل فقرك,وفراغك قبل شغلك, وحيا تك قبل موتك)

“Take advantage of five things before five others come: your youth before your old age, your health before your illness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before your busyness, and your life before your death.”(Al-Hakim).

Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “The Great and Mighty Allah gave knowledge to his slaves in their youth, and all goodness lies in youth.” Hafsa bint Sirin said: “Young ones! Work hard, because only in youth are things accomplished.” And weren’t the companions of the Messenger of Allah who believed in him, supported him, helped him and followed the light of religion sent down to him, most of them young?”

And those who fail to take advantage of their youth will repent in old age. One scientist said to one young man: “Work until the time comes when you cannot do it. I want to do a lot today, but I can’t.” Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Learn religion while you are young.”

Let the seeker of knowledge read the following words and let them become an example to him. Ibn al-Jawzi said: “I observed people in high positions and saw that most of them lose a lot during the period of their greatness. Some of them wallow in sin in their youth, others neglect the search for knowledge, and others indulge excessively in pleasure. But in old age they all repent, when past sins can no longer be corrected, when their strength has dried up and their merits have been forgotten. Their old age is spent in grief and sadness. If the elder comes to his senses about his previous sins, he will say: “How I regret the sins that I committed!” And if he doesn’t come to his senses, he will begin to regret those pleasures that cannot be returned.

And the one who devoted his youth to the search for knowledge, in old age, gratefully reaps the fruits of what he has sown, and enjoys writing down the knowledge that he has collected in books. Not only does he not consider that he has lost any bodily benefits, but he also takes pleasure in the knowledge he has acquired.”

Free time and health

A benefit that many people neglect, don't appreciate or appreciate enough, is health and free time. It is reported from the words of Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

(نعمتان مغبون فيهما كثير من الناس الصحة والفراغ)

“Many people are deprived of two blessings: health and free time”(Al-Bukhari). This means that many people do not use these benefits to perform good deeds, but use them to commit sins. Free time should be understood as not being busy with worldly affairs and problems that distract a person from his pursuits of the affairs of eternal life.

Free time never remains free; it will inevitably be filled with either good or evil. And whoever cannot captivate his soul with righteous deeds, his soul will be carried away by evil deeds. Happy is the one who spends his time in good and righteous deeds, and woe to the one who spends his time in bad and vicious deeds.

One righteous man said: “Time free from worldly worries is a great blessing. And if a person shows ingratitude for the benefit shown to him by giving vent to his passions and following his desires, then Allah will violate the well-being of his soul and deprive him of the spiritual purity and peace that he had.”

In short, the seeker of knowledge does not waste his life and does not lose a second of his time on matters not related to knowledge. As necessary, he allocates time for food, drink, sleep, rest after tiring work, fulfilling his duties in relation to family members, guests, to earn a living, and also breaks away from studies in case of illness or for other reasons that interfere with studies. Some of the predecessors did not stop their activities, even if they suffered from a slight illness or illness. Knowledge was medicine for them, and they continued to study as best they could.

Taking advantage of every opportunity

There are many everyday worries, and our needs in this life are endless, so the seeker of knowledge needs to resort to some tricks in order to rationally use the time that we do not attach much importance to and lose for the sake of imaginary politeness or out of habit.

a) While eating, while doing housework, and also in the car, the student can read prayers and adhkars, listen to recordings of the Koran or sermons.

b) He can repeat the Qur'an or a lesson he has learned while walking down the street, taking the example of our pious scholars. When al-Khatib al-Baghdadi walked along the road, he always read. One of the predecessors, giving advice to his friends, said: “When you leave me, then disperse: perhaps one of you will read the Koran on the way, and if you all go together, you will start talking to each other.”

c) Wherever the student goes, let him always take a textbook with him. Praise be to Allah, nowadays many books in small format are printed, which greatly facilitates this task. The main thing is that the student has a desire to take advantage of the time that many people simply lose, even many of those who seek knowledge.

Careful attitude of predecessors to time

The seeker of knowledge must constantly familiarize himself with how his predecessors used their time, reflect on their way of life whenever he discovers laziness and negligence in himself. How did Ibn Hajar and other scholars like him achieve what they achieved and do what they did? Some will say that they were men of genius, the help of Allah accompanied them, and their lives were blessed. And this is certainly true. But is a blessing given to a person without a reason? And is it really possible to grieve while following in other people’s footsteps, instead of striving to earn a better life and change your fate?

Anyone who is concerned about how to kill time and spend it in any way, usefully or unprofitably, will never receive the blessings and help of Allah. And if someone asks him for something important, he will apologize and say that he does not have time. How often people complain about the lack of time and the transience of years, but these are only those who waste time and ruin their lives. And some even admit that they are killing time, but do not suspect that in fact, they are killing their own life.

The height of aspirations and the greatness of goals encourage a person to value time, since this is his life. And if what they strive for is expensive, then it is easy to part with what they sacrifice along the way. Yes, our predecessors were extremely careful with time and tried not to miss a single second without using it to acquire knowledge. They even regretted the time they spent eating. Al-Khalil said: “The most painful time for me is when I eat.”

They say that Salim ibn Ayyub ar-Razi watched his every breath and never spent time uselessly: he either copied books, or taught something, or read... One day he went to his home, and when he returned, he said : “On the way, I read one juz (1/30th part of the Koran)”... One day his pencil became dull and while he was putting it in order, he moved his lips. And one could understand that he was reading even when he was simply sharpening his pencil, even here not wanting to waste time.”

Ibn Aqil said: “I try in every possible way to reduce the time I spend eating, that I prefer to eat a cake and wash it down with water even over bread, because I have to chew it less, and I have more time to read or write down something useful, which else.” didn't have time." He also said: "I never spend a minute of my life unprofitably. Even when my tongue is no longer able to learn or discuss anything, and my eyes are no longer able to read, I think, straining my thoughts, lying down and resting." "When I get up, something always comes to my mind to write. And at eighty years old I feel a greater thirst for knowledge than when I was twenty."

The seeker of knowledge needs a precise and well-thought-out system, which he must strictly follow in order to make the fullest possible use of his time. After all, disorder, negligence and spontaneity are the greatest enemies of the seeker of knowledge. And no one needs to distribute their time more than students, since they have a huge burden of worries, and it even seems to them that there are more things to do than there is time.

And the seeker of knowledge must distribute his time between obligatory and other matters so that one does not interfere with the other, minor matters do not interfere with important ones, important ones with the most important ones, and those not time-bound with time limits. Urgent tasks should be completed before others, and non-urgent ones - after. Anything that is time-bound should always be completed on time.

1.Drawing up a detailed plan

The student should always try to make a detailed plan for his studies and a plan for memorizing his lessons and strictly follow it. And it doesn’t matter if from time to time he makes changes to it in accordance with new requirements.

In studies, just as in trade and military campaigns, a person should draw up a plan of work. A student who clearly establishes a routine for his day and then begins to study, relieves himself of many worries and acquires a significant boost of energy and diligence. In fact, a plan that a person makes for himself and carries out day after day soon becomes common and simple for him. In other words, when we need to solve several issues, we will most likely fail to solve some of them, because one issue interferes with the solution of another, and the solution of each of them prevents us from completely devoting ourselves to solving any one of them. Thus, without any benefit, we move from one question to another immediately after we have examined it superficially, carelessly putting aside the solution of each of them...

The specific place allocated for study is no less important than the specific time for this. Let the student have his own desk and chair, intended only for mental work. And after a while this place will symbolize a lesson for him.

Many people believe that the secret of success lies in a person’s teaching himself to discipline and constant work. One of the leading doctors, William Osler, asked a group of students the following question: “How can you make the most effective use of your talents with a minimum of effort?” Then he himself answered the question posed: “I can do this by cultivating the spirit of discipline in myself. I say “education” because many of you will find it quite difficult to accustom yourself to it. There are people who have been given a discipline-predisposed mentality from birth. But at the same time, there are people with a different mindset who must declare a long war on themselves in order to eradicate the innate predisposition to disorder and carelessness in business...

This appeal is dedicated especially to young people, since they are still at the beginning of their life’s journey and the future of each of them depends on the habits that they develop in themselves during this delicate period of life. It is quite easy to follow the usual consistency in any task, but introducing it into the routine of your daily life is not easy. The student should determine for each part of his day an obligatory task to be occupied with during that time, and by exercise and practice develop the ability to concentrate.

As for the detailed presentation of individual items of the daily routine, everyone determines them for themselves. First of all, it is necessary to determine the amount of time that the student is going to devote to studying, but let him not make overly “ideal” plans. It will be better if he evaluates his mental abilities in a balanced and fair manner, without overestimating himself or belittling his capabilities. Then he should choose for himself a time during the day when he would prefer to engage in mental work, being confident that he will have the opportunity to do this regularly and every day at this time. It is also important to choose different times during the day for your study. This is not bad, provided that the student makes it a habit to consistently study during this time.

In addition, the student needs to determine how much time to devote to each subject and schedule classes according to the time frame. Of course, he will not be able to determine in advance exactly how much time he will need to study each subject or when he expects to start the next lesson, because the learning process cannot remain so rigid. But it’s still better if every day he roughly determines how much time it will take him to do this or that activity, and draws up a schedule on the basis of which he will build his classes. Thus, the student will get rid of the question of which lesson to start with, and will stop worrying about the tasks that he should have completed.

But most students don't know how to manage their time. In fact, knowing in detail how to manage your time is now the first significant step for students towards living a lifestyle based on the most efficient daily schedule...

It is very important to think about the reasons for wasting your time and think carefully about how you can make up for every lost minute.

2. Maintaining a daily routine

The seeker of knowledge should not put off until tomorrow what he must do today. After all, tomorrow he will have other matters and responsibilities that will not allow him to deal with yesterday’s affairs.

I don’t put it off until tomorrow, succumbing to laziness,

What can I do today?

Because tomorrow is the day of the one who is weak and in business

Can't do absolutely anything.

If the day passes, the student will take with him everything that happened that day. And if he puts off his work today, then tomorrow he will have to complete the work in two days.

Omar ibn Abdul Aziz was told: “Postpone this until tomorrow.” To which he replied: “It’s difficult for me to cope with the tasks of one day, but what will happen if work falls on me in two days?!” If a seeker of knowledge always fulfills the duties and tasks that he has scheduled for the day, he will gain peace and fully complete his work.

3. You should start work early in the morning

The hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) says:

(اللهم بارك لامتي فى بكورها)

“O Allah! Bless my ummah in their deeds that they begin early in the morning!”. Ibn Omar, commenting on the words “start early in the morning,” said: “come early to school and to the mosque to take a place in the front row.”

The first part of the day is a blessed time for the traveler, when he travels great distances. But many seekers of knowledge today miss this opportunity to receive the blessing promised to them after the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) uttered the words of supplication (du'a)! Moreover, some of them wake up a few minutes before sunrise, hastily perform morning prayer, then continue to sleep again, as if they had never heard such a hadith!

4. A small deed done consistently is better than a big one that is inconsistent.

The hadith says:

(احب الاعمال الى الله تعالى ادومها وان قل)

“Allah loves most those deeds that are done with the greatest consistency, even if they are few.”(Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

Imam an-Nawawi said: “This hadith encourages consistency in deeds, and it also says that a small, but steadily done deed is better than a significant, but fickle one... A small deed that is constantly done brings much more benefit than significant, but not permanent."

Therefore, the student needs to distribute his time, both day and night, in accordance with his capabilities and conditions and specially allocate some part of the time for a certain task that he will steadily engage in daily, for example, reading a certain amount of dhikr and salawat. Set aside the other part of the time for another activity, for example, studying religious sciences.

5. Privacy

A seeker of knowledge should sometimes give preference to solitude, because nothing reminds more of eternal life than loneliness... And a person, walking around the market for some time, under the impression of what he sees, forgets what he knows. Solitude allows a person to calm his soul, gather strength, think about the consequences and stock up on everything necessary for this.

If we look at those who were able to take advantage of the short moments of their lives and achieve such results and fruits of their labor that causes surprise and amazement, we will see that they were friends only with hardworking, diligent, outstanding and intelligent people who valued their time in the same way how they valued their lives, because time is life.

And friendship with such outstanding, diligent people who value every minute and second had a serious impact on the activities of such famous people as Imam Ibn Jarir at-Tabari, Ibn “Aqil al-Hanbali, Ibn “Asakir ad-Dimashki, Ibn al-Qayyim, Ibn al-Nafis, al-Mizzi, al-Zahabi, Ibn Hajar and other similar scientists who left behind a colossal, invaluable legacy.

Imam Ibn “Aqil al-Hanbali said: “In my youth, Allah protected me in every possible way from sins and limited all my love to the love of knowledge and its owners. I never communicated with lovers of fun and was friends only with students like myself.” One who is devoted to knowledge, who is accompanied by the help of Allah and who strives for the sublime, you can see only in the company of deserved, diligent, wise, intelligent and knowledgeable people, because he wants what they have, or part of it, to go to him. him to become the same as them, or at least similar to them.

Friendship with such people will teach the seeker of knowledge to be ahead of time, and friendship with bad people will teach him to waste it fruitlessly. Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “A man is judged by his friend, because he takes as friends only those like himself.” And may Allah protect us from friendship with bad people.

6. Mental rest and peace

The seeker of knowledge spends all his time studying, but from time to time he necessarily needs rest, so that later he is not forced to interrupt all his studies. After all, the human soul does not tolerate monotony. Abdallah ibn Mas'ud said: “Truly, the human soul has aspiration and passion. But it is also characterized by lethargy and lack of interest. Get down to business when the soul is eager, and let it rest when interest disappears.”

Time should be distributed so that there is also time for rest, since after long work a person’s soul begins to feel disgusted with it, and gets tired just like the body gets tired. “Ali said: “...and it is not proper for a Muslim to burden himself so much that it takes away his strength and prevents him from continuing what he was doing.”

At the same time, the student should not put too much pressure on himself, so that he does not develop a feeling of fatigue and disgust. And perhaps he will hate studying and will no longer be able to overcome himself. Let him be moderate in such matters. Every person knows himself better.

However, the rest of the seeker of knowledge differs from the rest of other people, since at any time he tries to acquire some benefit:

a) some predecessors used breaks during lessons in which they recited hadiths to pronounce words of remembrance of the Great and Mighty Allah (dhikr). Al-Khatib al-Baghdadi, talking about the rules of conduct of a muhaddith (a person who tells a hadith; an expert and transmitter of hadiths), said: “When he stops telling hadiths during the Majlis, while resting, he utters words of remembrance of Allah Almighty. Many of the greatest men who came before us did this.”

b) If a student is tired of studying one subject, then he should study another, because this is better than stopping studies altogether. You can move from one form of occupation to another to change your type of activity.

A soul that is tired is incapable of anything,

And you change her state from one to another.

c) Whenever the student feels energized, he should study his lessons. And the study of stories, biographies and stories from the lives of predecessors, reading wise sayings and poems can be postponed until another time, when he feels tired, and useful verses should be chosen, such as, for example, poems praising our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). ), poetic collections of divan al-Shafi, divan Abu al-Atahiya and other poets who glorified abstinence and detachment (zuhd).

The ability to use time correctly is a prerequisite for any success

We are accustomed to believing that time is inexorable and constantly moving forward. However, an aphorism from 1500 years ago says that there is no time, only we move. This statement may seem unusual, even strange. Indeed, how can one say that there is no time? After all, each of us has either a watch on our wrist that shows the time, or a smartphone, which, for greater accuracy, is completely synchronized over the network. There are a lot of dials around, and the radio and TV, not to mention the computer, will not let us forget about time. Well, in the end, you can look at the sun, its rise, movement across the sky, sunset. How can you say that there is no time?

But in fact, the idea that time flows around us may still be absurd. A hundred years ago, Albert Einstein's theory of relativity destroyed the idea of time as a universal constant. The great scientist believed that there was no way to define events so that they could be designated as occurring simultaneously.

You can also remember the words from the song: there is only a moment, between the past and the future - a moment is nothing. In other words, the present does not exist, it does not exist. The future constantly flows into the past. In the present, in this moment, in this nothingness, is time, or rather the illusion of the existence of time.

That is, time is just a clock. That is, time is tangible for a person. Only we move - biological organisms, for which time certainly exists. And it not only exists, but also acts as the main measure of life. For a person, every year lived, every five years of existence, leaves traces in the body (even every hour makes itself felt). We can finally say that time is the measure of every living organism. It measures the stages of its development from birth to maturity, from maturity to old age, right up to its disappearance. Moreover, the life expectancy of a person relative to the age of the Universe is less than an atom compared to a large star. Therefore, according to human feelings, time exists, and we are all given very little of it.

What does it mean to live life fully? This means making full use of the time given to us, that is, learning to save it so that it is enough for a wide variety of important activities:

  • for training and work
  • for self-education
  • for recreation and sports
  • for relationships, friendships, starting a family and raising children
  • for leisure and entertainment

How much time do you really use wisely?

With an average life expectancy of 72 years, a person spends 22 years sleeping, 10 working and 6 eating. Adding up these three numbers, you will see that they are just over half of 72. What happened to the rest - 34 years? It depends on the person himself what he will spend it on. This is exactly what the life of every normal person is assessed by. You might be surprised how much time you have at your disposal! But at the same time, one person can do a lot in life, while another can do almost nothing. For example, Norbert Wiener, the founder of cybernetics, devoted all his free hours to his idea. And then, when his genius was praised in society, he denied and said that if someone else devoted all his evenings, Saturdays and Sundays to work like he did, he could achieve the same thing. If someone for 50 years (from 22 to 72) spends only two hours a day kicking, in a year (365 days) this will be 730 hours, in 50 years - 36 thousand 500 hours, that is, more than 4 years. Incredible, isn't it? If we want to develop our abilities, the makings of our own personality, we need to learn how to use our time as usefully and productively as possible. Are you making full use of your time? It is not enough to say: “I think so.” This must be determined objectively. Try to keep a schedule of your time spent for a period of time. By writing down absolutely everything you spend your time on every day, you can adjust your own lifestyle and learn how to properly manage your time.

Time is a negative quantity

During the course of his life, a person notices that the astronomical year supposedly has different lengths. At 25 years old it seems like a year, at 7-8 years of age it seems like it lasts two years. And after 55 years, on the contrary, it seems to shrink the further and further.

In childhood, it seems to everyone that there is still a lot of time ahead, but with age, the amount of time decreases and decreases. It is important to remember this from a young age and direct your efforts to obtaining an education, improving your qualifications, taking care of your health, improving your mental and mental abilities, studying professional literature and foreign languages - all this (not in one year, of course) can be done, if you are a good manager of your time. At the same time, properly planned time leaves the opportunity to work, relax, and have fun. In addition, you must remember that when you get married and have children, you will have less time for yourself. And then, perhaps, more than once you will regret that you neglected the opportunities that you had in your youth, because the foundations for the comprehensive development of the individual must be laid from childhood. Without wasting time in your younger years, you can accomplish a lot. If you are a schoolchild or student, use the holidays to improve your knowledge of foreign languages, and during the school year read books, magazines, and newspapers in the language you are studying. The acquired knowledge and experience will make your future life easier. And you will not have to regret the time lost in your youth. It is clear that at the same time you should not shy away from entertainment and the joys of life in the company of your peers. You just need to realize the value of time and learn how to distribute it correctly.

Free time is great wealth

Free time is a problem that interests everyone who strives to develop their personality and live meaningfully. This is our great wealth. For some, free time is moments of sweet idleness and laziness, for others it is useful work, time for self-education and social activities, for entertainment and hobbies. At the same time, it is worth distinguishing between non-working time and free time. Free time is, so to speak, a slice of a loaf of non-working time. And the latter consists of those hours and minutes when we are not at work, that is, of all time except the working day. This primarily includes the time when we sleep, eat, do housework, go to and from work, that is, the chores associated with ensuring our existence. The rest is the time that is so temptingly called free. This is exactly what we would like to have as much as possible, and this is due to the fact that just the mentioned troubles will cut off how much of it from that very whole loaf.

You can spend your free time on:

  • self-education (reading newspapers, magazines, books, training)
  • social activities (work in public organizations, participation in meetings, etc.)
  • active recreation (dancing, walking, vacation, playing musical instruments, sports, photography, drawing, etc.)
  • passive recreation (cinema, theater, concerts, radio, television, restaurants, guests)

The distribution of free time, or rather, its use, depends primarily on the qualifications and education of a person.

How to use your free time

Each person has his own idea of the most appropriate use of free time, as well as individual possibilities. They depend on his type of occupation, education, material conditions, whether a person works in a city or a village, etc.

But we must remember that a person who spends time in idleness loses part of his life every day. The younger a person is, the more of his life time is lost, since in youth time flows much more slowly, in other words, in the same time a young person will do more than an older person. And this is provided that young people have much more free time than older people. If a person does not spend time either on work or on entertainment, then it is fruitless, in vain. It is not surprising that such people are always bored. What advice should I give them? First of all, it is necessary that they, especially young people, understand that time is an extraordinary value. There are a thousand ways to spend your free minutes.

First, we need to monitor whether our time is being wasted. Secondly, once we understand the value of time and know through time tracking how much free time we have at our disposal, we must think carefully about how best to use it.

Anyone who is not at least occasionally interested in how much time in a week or month he spent on work (or study), on entertainment, on daily needs (washing, dressing, eating, etc.) will never have any idea whether he uses his time, or, conversely, loses it.

If your only entertainment is TV or a computer game, then that’s sad. After all, it is better to devote time to something that can both bring benefits and bring joy. What exactly this is - everyone determines for himself. Life is not endless, it is limited in time. And you will never make up for what you lost today. But who said that from this very moment you won’t start living differently?

So, free time is by no means sweet idleness. It contributes to the restoration of our strength, our comprehensive, harmonious development, and we must use it as our great wealth, which will only be possible when we live a full, varied life, properly armed with humor and good mood. Free time should not be wasted on everyday trifles and running around the shops or household chores. This requires thoughtful, clear organization. Just remember that in addition to family and work or study, you need to take care of your health, physical fitness, appearance, do not forget about your attitude towards people and communication with them, the ability to live in a team, overcome difficulties, remember about education and self-education, personal hobbies , physical education and sports, cultural entertainment, travel, etc.

Think about how you spend your free time. Anyone who has decided to engage in self-improvement will probably, with these words, pick up a pencil and paper, a calendar and a watch. Perhaps he will be tempted, and for some period he will control his non-working time, including his free time. And if he is honest with himself, he will definitely find certain reserves of free time that he can use in a new way.

How to manage time. Conclusions:

  • Think about what is more important: to have more and more things to do that take up your free time, or to move on to a life full of impressions, to feel its richness and beauty
  • You need to organize your life in such a way that you have enough time for work and self-improvement, interests, entertainment, and a sense of life’s joys
  • Time is of extreme value. Take care of it, make sure you don’t waste it. Periodically balance your working and non-working time

Don't waste precious time

According to one of the great people, the most serious crime is not the theft of property, but the theft of time. It’s sad, but you and I commit this crime every day.

How many useful and necessary things could be done for people while we are stuck in front of television screens or doing empty, petty things.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to return the wasted hours, days, years. But we can learn to make good use of the time we have left.

Time management incredibly important for modern man. This article will discuss how to properly organize your life without wasting time.

Time management is a habit that can be acquired!

What takes a lot of time?

To learn how to use time effectively, let’s consider what modern people do 24 hours a day.

So, the working day takes from 8 to 12 hours. Of these, 4-6 hours are allocated to truly useful activities. The rest of our time is spent on smoking breaks, conversations, coffee, trying to understand the boss’s assignment and getting into a working mood.

Residents of big cities spend from 30 minutes to 2 hours to get to work and return home.

The lunch break takes one hour. Although the meal itself lasts no more than 20 minutes: the rest of the time is spent on the road, queuing at the cafe, smoking breaks, etc.

Household chores take the fair sex from 4 to 5 hours. Women with children spend even more time.

There are 4-7 hours left for sleep.

As you can see, the schedule is quite tight. However, even in this situation, many manage to waste a lot of time. “How?” you ask. Below is a kind of rating of the most empty tasks that can easily be abandoned:

>>Change what goes into your brain, and then you can change what comes out of it.

Zig Ziglar<<

  • – shopping and boutique shopping (many people go there for fun, without any money at all);
  • – reclining in front of television screens;
  • – communication on the Internet (via Skype, ICQ, etc.);
  • – visiting social networks (by going to Odnoklassniki or VKontakte for a minute, you can lose several hours of time);
  • – removing spam from mailboxes (office employees, both men and women, are forced to do this).

However, this list can be continued indefinitely. Each of us can name dozens more types of activities due to which we lose a huge number of invaluable minutes of life.

Having analyzed the current state of affairs, it is unlikely that anyone will want to devote part of their life to useless things that they can easily do without.

So what's the deal? Let's learn to rationally use every precious moment of life, organize time so as to use it as efficiently as possible!

How to learn to use time rationally?

Effective time management

Time management, the science of proper time management, has long been adopted by businessmen who want to achieve tangible results in their activities. It will also be useful to all those who want to organize their time more rationally and not waste a single minute.

This also applies to housewives, mothers on maternity leave, and especially those who like to be lazy for an hour or two and do not have time to do what they planned.

So, practical advice on rational organization of your time.

  1. There is such a method of neurolinguistic programming as “anchoring”. It is based on that. That useful activity is tied to a certain “anchor” - words, music, movements, etc. For example, some are inspired by classical music, others by their favorite movie. That is, in order to set yourself up for work, sometimes it is enough to use the necessary “anchor”.
  2. Buy a diary. Write down a work plan for the day, periodically checking and marking completed items.
  3. Our life consists of little things, pay attention to them. Instead of a cigarette with a cup of coffee, do something useful - for example, write or check entries in your diary.
  4. Don't refuse to rest if you are tired. A timely break will not prevent you from saving time, but will allow you to gather your strength.
  5. Mark the most important things. Group tasks of the same type. For example, place all calls that need to be made in a separate column, meetings as well. Try to carry out the points in the same way, the whole group at once - and you will see how convenient and effective it is.
  6. The French proposed an interesting way to save time. It is known that our brain is most active before noon. Do the most unpleasant and difficult tasks in the morning. Firstly, you will be able to do it with maximum efficiency. Secondly, spend the remaining time with a clear conscience on more pleasant and easier points of the plan.

Perhaps you are not yet ready to admit that you are wasting a lot of time. Sit down in the evening, write down everything you did during the day in order, minute by minute.

You will be amazed to see how much time was wasted on trifles. And multiplying this time by a week, a month, a year, you will understand why you have not yet achieved your goal in life - and you will immediately want to fix everything. And this is within your power.

Remember: careful use of time will be the key to a rich, successful life.

We run to and from work, snack on the go and lack sleep. At the same time, we chronically do not have time to do everything that we consider necessary. But, if you carefully analyze, our time will be quite enough to realize all our desires: learn a foreign language, lose weight or open your own online store. Even taking into account 8 hours of sleep, good nutrition and the road to work. After all, successful people, entrepreneurs, music and movie stars have exactly the same amount of time as we do. Then why are there so few such people? Let's figure it out!

Successful people always devote a lot of time to time management

Do we need what we don’t have time for?

The very first question that a beginning time manager should ask himself is: “Am I doing what I want?”

Often, almost always, a person in the modern world is engaged in something completely alien to him. There are two main reasons. The first is the parents; they, of course, knew “better” what their child should become when he grows up. As a result, such a person himself does not know what he really wants, he has never even thought about it! He takes the dreams of his parents for his desires and goals.

The second reason is when a person consciously decides for himself who he wants to be based not on his real desires, but on those imposed by television and public opinion. We are told that we need to be rich, successful, famous. We compare ourselves to artificially created Hollywood ideals: specially selected people, plus specially manipulated to appear in the best light. The boy is told that he must become rich: successful. What does she owe the girl for such a “boy”.

When achieving goals that are not yours, you have to do everything through willpower. Contrary to the stereotypes imposed on us, willpower cannot be strained for a long time and for a long time - a person burns out. Of course, sometimes you can and even need to strain it, but not much. There are rare people who were born very strong-willed, and, as a rule, they are set as an example for us. Moreover, they are presented not as isolated cases, exceptions, but as the norm of life - this is exactly what every person should be.

Since exerting willpower is a very energy-consuming process, the body strives to reduce it to a minimum, or, if this is impossible, to delay the completion of the task as much as possible (what if something happens and the task will no longer need to be completed). There is such a phenomenon as procrastination - delaying the start of a task, even with clear planning.

As a result, when striving for goals that are not your own, something is very difficult, because you have to constantly fight with yourself. If you also use techniques, then the struggle with yourself becomes structured and, most importantly, begins to take up all your working, and sometimes free, time. Naturally, life simply turns into torture.

A thick diary and a large cardboard bookmark

The main tool of a successful time manager is a diary. A solid leather-bound notebook by its very appearance puts you in a working mood. With it, you can plan your day more consciously and save yourself from forgetting important things.

But do you know how to keep a diary correctly? “The way I usually conduct it is correct,” the reader will think. And indeed, almost all people use an organizer in the only way known to them: they schedule all the tasks for the day and strictly tie each task to a specific time. But ask yourself, do you always manage to do everything planned for the day? Does chaos interfere with your life and ruin your plans? The questions are, of course, rhetorical. As Buddhists like to say: “If you want to make the gods laugh, tell them your plans.” Life presents us with many surprises and surprises, and many of them are related to work.

As a result, being distracted by urgent and unforeseen matters, we do not accomplish everything we planned. And this has a depressing effect on us. Chewing on uncompleted tasks can even cause feelings of guilt. All this takes away our energy, which is sometimes already lacking in our accelerated life.

IN effective time management You need to strictly plan not all of your time, but part of it. The remaining time should be allocated to urgent matters that arise spontaneously.Experts have found that planning 60 to 70% of your time is most effective. It is advisable that breaks between planned activities be spaced evenly. Such a loose arrangement will also help you out if the meeting or meeting drags on. They will simply take up the time allotted for sudden events and will not interfere with other strictly planned matters.

You can lose your goals in your daily routine. And, meanwhile, without long-term, strategic goals effective time management impossible. What is the point of clearly distributing all your affairs day by day and year by year and living according to a schedule, if this does not bring you closer to your main goals: wealth, success, financial freedom. In order not to forget why you once started all this, you need to keep your long-term goals in mind. But how to do this if the brain is constantly busy with routine? A paper diary provides us with a unique opportunity! We can make a large bookmark out of thick cardboard on which we write our real goals. Based on modern ideas about the psychology of goals, it is recommended to set about 7 goals, but no more than 9.

It is better to make a good, strong bookmark right away, so that it does not fray and creates a feeling of solidity. A carelessly made bookmark can even psychologically neutralize your goals. In addition, such a “device” will help you immediately open your diary today.

Reward for completed action

As we already know, sometimes you still need to exert your willpower. However, for its manifestation to be productive, it is best to use the technique of intermediate joy. This technique also allows you to finish things more often and not give up halfway. TPR is one of the key parts effective time management and lies in the fact that after completing some work you reward yourself with something.

How can we reward ourselves:

  • Eat or.
  • Play a computer game.
  • Buy a funny thing.
  • Read your favorite entertainment sites.
  • Pursue your hobby.

TPR should be applied like this: “If I successfully give a presentation, then in the evening I will isolate myself in a room, lock myself away from everyone at home and play my favorite game.” That is, the reward for yourself must be total. It should be noted that you need to reward yourself adequately for the issue resolved. If you've cleared things out on your desk, then leaving for a month is not productive. But even for concluding a multimillion-dollar contract, one pie is clearly not enough. It should be noted that this technique should be used sometimes, even if the work did not require your willpower.

How to prepare for new work challenges

It's time to talk about relaxation. Many people take it the wrong way. Rest is not a replacement for work, but a way to tune your body to perform new work more productively!

Learning to rest properly is very important, this is one of the secrets effective time management. We know the optimal option since school: after every 45 minutes of work, 15 minutes of rest. We know, but we don’t apply... During these 15 minutes, it is best to change your place. If you are sitting, be sure to get up and walk around, talk about other topics not related to work.

If you work in an office on a computer, then the best option is physical education. And the same one that was made in the Soviet Union. Pay special attention to exercises on the spine. It would be ideal if your office has a horizontal bar on which you can hang for at least 10 seconds. But lunch, on the contrary, is best devoted to discussing work issues, but those that are pleasant to you. Preferably non-urgent ones, so as not to further fray your nerves.

It is better not to watch TV in the evening, as this is the most counter-productive form of relaxation. The best option is to engage in a common family hobby, if possible, in the open air.

With such a leisure activity as Internet surfing, you need to understand that our brain can only “eat” a certain amount of information, so if you overload it with unnecessary data, even from the entertainment sector, this can significantly reduce your working abilities and even lead to headaches .

If you “borrow” time from sleep and sleep less than 8 hours, then this is bad. If you sleep 5, 4 or even two hours a day, then, as a rule, this regime lasts for a maximum of a couple of years, then payback inevitably comes in the form of a sharp decrease in performance.

Therefore, you need to set aside at least 8 hours for sleep, but use it productively. Before plunging into the kingdom of Morpheus, give yourself the task of solving some creative issues. You'll be surprised how often you'll wake up the next morning with solutions or find them throughout the day.

Time Eaters

Time eaters are the most dangerous enemies effective time management. We talked to a friend on the phone for 3 minutes, spent 10 minutes on VKontakte, 5 minutes chatted with an annoying colleague... and now the day has passed! And as usual, we didn’t have time to do everything we wanted. Learn to identify and then avoid time wasters. These include:

  • VKontakte and other social networks.
  • Talk about nothing.
  • Internet surfing.
  • Talking out of politeness.
  • Answering phone calls you don't need.
  • Mental chewing gum.
  • “Not our” things, things that we, for one reason or another, are forced to do at work, but which do not relate to our immediate responsibilities.

A moment of philosophy...

It is sometimes useful to do this philosophical exercise: imagine your entire life from birth to death in the form of a ruler or circle. The recommended total life expectancy is 80 years. Color in the years you have already lived, as well as some of the years in old age (5-10), because during these years it is no longer possible to work productively.

Sometimes it is even recommended to paint over a third or more of the remaining time, since we spend a third of our time sleeping and traffic jams. You can see how much time you have “remaining”. The exercise clears the brain VERY strongly. You begin to live more consciously.
